I think finality may represent the end by letting things flow to their natural course while destruction is the active attempt to end things ,though that wouldn't explain why terminus is going backwards in time instead of maybe just observing events unless he might want to be the witness to the entire process of everything and not just when he became an aeon

I feel like Finality is more so similar to Nihility; the idea that one day everything is destined to end. Maybe the key difference is that Nihility sees it as a reason to not care about anything whereas Finality feels more neutral about, though there isn't that much known about Finality so this is just speculation. Nanook's views are much more about the entirety of existence being a mistake and wanting to get rid of it all forcefully instead of letting things run their course. I think that view of the universe being a mistake is the key difference that sets Destruction apart from Finality

Nihility is a pasive thing, while Destruction is more active. Nihility is a state of nothingess or nullness. While destruction is the process of damaging until it not longer can be repaired.

To put it in a way I think makes sense... finality probably symbolizes the end. Almost like inevitability or fate while destruction symbolizes more of a means to an end

Terminus/Finality as an Aeon might ascending differently and superior to vast majority of other Aeons (probably only rivalled or at least comparably complementary to Aeons Fuli & Nihility) Terminus' natures to go backwards implies of the distinct nature from already reaching the end of Fate then proceeds to echoes the messages of Finality by going backwards and against the current, therefore bypassing the systems of Imaginary Space, Imaginary Tree and Honkai with it's Principles (As Honkai being part of Imaginary Principles which acts as counterbalance to the activities of leaves universes and bubble universes), considering of the most recent Silver Wolf trailer literally referenced Bronie, it's already established that Honkai Impact universe have characters directly interlinked beyond just Welt Yang and discovery of Akavili's "remains", with Bronie possibly tied or even being one of Silver Wolf's personality and the Cocoon of Finality being one of many sites and source of powers left behind by Aeon of Finality I've seen many silly attempts in the discussion fields of lore buffs of Honkai Impact fandom to create power-scaling of "who's the strongest character" and I must say, Kiana having authority of Finality simply means that she ties all of her conveniently combined powers (as she's being byproduct of Otto's experiments as a perfect vessel of Honkai) to be turned into an emanator of Finality in her world by successfuly having Kevin's finality authority usurped (then further aided by both Lambda Ai Chan and Captain of Hyperion to break Kevin's final defence) to make her succeeding Kevin and ending him), hence the stronger Aeons ascending through different means, all while able to posit authority to be above even The Honkai and it's systems, just like how Su at the end of his life achieving Nirvana only to afterward meeting Aeon Nihility, which claimed to have never met a single human for thousands of years and establishing the nature of Nihility to observe at the edge of Honkaiverse, and as I reiterate again, just like Aeon of Finality have nature to observe at the end of Honkaiverse The greatest of Aeons are usually being already crossing the line between Imaginary Space and Sea of Quanta and therefore already out of the elemental constituency of Honkaiverse/Hoyoverse, you notice this too with how those akin to Lambda Ai Chan, Elysia and further with Captain of Hyperion able to break 4th walls and having awareness of game-datas and live services, recalling of how earlier patches of Honkai Impact too being so self aware that it's tied to different universes, with those traversing it's multiple dimensions or observes it for too long or too deep causing them to do things on meta-level, explicit evidence is with Lambda Ai Chan born from "Pseudo-time Crystals", Elysia born from crystal-like womb and further attested by her powers too (with limited degree of 4th wall breaking in her victory pose) and March 7th discovered in 6-phase Icy cocoon frozen in time (reflected by her Eidolons' descriptions and names) hinting possibility of her being tied to Aeon Fuli regarding stability and trustworthy of remembering/memories/etc (Captain of Hyperion and Rita too once mentioned by the devs in a video back in middle of 2020 to be "entities of Higher Order", the literally hinting Aeons prior to even global release date of Genshin Impact)

Finality, meaning end, does include destruction IMO. I think Nanook could be absorved into Finality, but I suppose Terminus just doesn't care. If HI3 Coccoon of Finality is anything related to Terminus, maybe Terminus just wants to witness new beginnings, bringing end to current existing samsaras, while maybe spreading some of Its parts into different worlds

Finality seems like natural mortality as a concept. You are born, you live, and at a certain age you get old and die. Whereas Destruction is trying to end life prematurely because it does not acknowledge life should have existed at all. On the one hand they both want death as a concept and rely on life existing. But Destruction's ultimate goal would be to erase life from having ever existed, while Finality NEEDS life to exist for it to one day end, so in that way they are at odds. Finality traveling backwards makes me think it's like a reader, putting the story together from the end to beginning. In that way it reminds me of the webnovel/webtoon Omniscient Readers Viewpoint. Comparing FInality to Elio makes so much sense to me. It's like they know what the best, most satisfying end of the story would be and they are trying to create that story from back to front. Its also kind of reminds me of the MCU's Time Variance Authority that exists at the end of time. Like, perhaps Terminus is a being that was born at the end of time, and they are trying to ensure their existence in a many-worlds theory type universe (where multiple timelines exist simultaneously), by making sure the timeline that produces them is the one that 'wins'. The fact that they move backwards in time, reminds me of the concept of a tachyon. It's a theoretical particle believed to exist that always travels faster than light. It does this by moving backwards through time to avoid causality issues. Essentially, it seems that once you exceed the speed of light, instead of moving forward in time as usually happens, you wrap around and start moving backwards through time in order to avoid hitting that limit.
