Happened to me too at 9. Ruined my life. But I luckily didn't get diabetes but gained way too much, it was hard to think and get around

@@toefoneman Did your metabolism eventually returne to normal ? As in right now, do you "feel" that your metabolism have been permanently alter in a way that is harder for you to lose weight and easier to gain weight ? Is your glucose in the normal range, prediabetes or diabetic range ? Metabolism structure in general, anything abnormal ?

Russell is an impressive guy, his progress is extraordinary. I'de be curious to know if he is doing talk therapy and if he gets good sleep. What a great guy. ❤
@russellbyt6 күн бұрын
Thanks for your really kind, supportive words! To answer that sleep question: At this point, whether or not I get good sleep often comes down to stress levels and lifestyle choices. It’s hard to get good sleep if I’m super stressed, or if I have too much caffeine or were to eat a sugared-up piece of cake or something right before bed (which I don’t normally do, Lol). But that's kinda normal, right? I’m not in the situation I used to be where I needed Seroquel and/or Ambien and (insert pharmaceutical here) to help me fall asleep and stay asleep each night. I only needed all that because that’s what my body was used to. As for talk therapy: I’m not currently doing it. Might do some in the future. Just need to have a good reason for it. Really want it to be my choice as an adult after having been in therapy for so long when I was young, and couldn’t _truly_ make up my own mind about going. By the time I could make up my own mind and really understood what it meant to be a participant in therapy, it was more a habit than a conscious choice. And I was just there anyway to help me deal with all the problems others were causing me and didn’t yet have a good idea of what my own issues were, if that makes sense. -Russell B

Gosh, doing this to an 11 year old? I always wondered why a doctor would let a patient add on weight until 400lbs…were they observing him frequently? Was the psychiatrist noting his labs for metabolic issues? He had concerns and voiced them, but the psychiatrist response was inappropriate. It’s hard hearing all this malpractice.

Congrats... finally , interesting topic on antipsychotics. Thank you. Russel B' s trauma is similar to my sons, perhaps accentuated with him speaking to court welfare officers from the age of 2 years upto 14. He was forcibly taken for weekends, long weekend stays and half holidays from 2 years onwards against his will.

It’s just so obvious that you have this child, who has parents at war, would have physical symptoms. It also makes common sense that this child would also develop OCD as a desperate attempt at controlling something, anything, in his chaotic environment.

The question is: Will your biological mechanism in the cellular level return to normal after quitting antipsychotics? Clearly the energy expenditure has changed and losing weight is difficult. Even if it is successful, it is independent to glucose structure. Such horrific drug with severe horrible side effects can be publish into the society / system and not banned. No wonder people lose trust in the medical system.

But this med has so much more detrimental effects to ofer. parkinson like symptoms, tardive dyskenisia, no positive feelings life energy draining all this and more I experienced with these meds. inhumane experience it was for me! I hated every second being on these meds. The wisdom behind it, it was never about being well.
