I don’t think so. Crusader ships usually have names of Greek or Roman gods. Anvil has a history of naming their ships based on archaic or fantastical military designation so it makes sense

No matter how cool this ship seems none of it matters CIG can and will nerf it, like the Redeemer and the Corsair in order to sell new ships like this one.

I know I'm asking for too much realism, but to me it makes no sense a military ship wouldn't have a method for the pilot to fire all guns forward. It'd be like a 2-seater jet that didn't have any way for the weapons officer to fly if they had to, or for the pilot to use all the weapons if needed. No one would be that shortsighted. I feel like they're just trying to force everyone who would rather fly solo to multicrew, but nobody wants to be an NPC for someone else.

I don't think the Redeemer was changed because of the Paladin, but I do believe the timing for the Redeemer rebalance was because of the Paladin. No matter what the Redeemer was destined for big changes at some point. Overall though I do get the impression the Paladin would be the better ship to get if the prices are comparable. Also as a Valk lover I really dig the look, even if it blows at some point I'll still be happy with it. The stairs are also great, need more ships with stairs and less wonky elevators and ladders.

I think it depends on the redeemer wasn’t nerfed because it got a huge handling buff making it on par with smaller ship. The paladin doesn’t have drop ship capabilities to whereas the redeemer has 4 drop seats.

pure gunship. Not a cargo, nor dropship, nor anyhting else besides gunship... good interior, exterior And most important: the multicrew aspect is optional and empowers the experience for everyone (instead of being forced down our throats) About nerfs and buffs: always save some ccus to change for the next more powerful gunship - at least until the game exists in a balanced state And I think Paladin won't hit our hangars for at least 2 years

I still feel Redeemer will be fine. It has "more guns" though probably less overall DPS, and it has more guns with larger firing arcs. I think Redeemer will do better in hairball type fights with other small to medium ships, while the Paladin here will excel at hunting Hammerheads or other "corvette" sized stuff, or in a fleet for taking out Idris or larger ships.

I really love how it looks, and with two crew it has better firepower than two crew in my poor Corsair. It is also faster than the Corsair, with the same shielding, and it looks like there might also be some room for a few boxes. I'd upgrade my Corsair to this in a heartbeat, but you know what they say: Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on CIG 😂

The Paladin looks like it was made as a companion to the Valkyrie. They should have left Paladin to Crusader Ind., and named this the Rook. This ship should not be hard to finish as they can reuse a lot of Valkyrie assets.

It looks cool, love the aestetics, paint is equally nice, its a ''Heavy gunship equipped to take down huge targets'', sounds interesting......i'll buy that, there we go, melt it tomorrow and forget about for 18months. Should get some wonderful rebalancing when i drops, we have ''Ship Armour/Ballistics/Maelstrom and advanced Radar/Scanning'', so no buying this ship on STATS wallabies, you buy a ship on its intended role, no need to cry about ''Nerfs'' just yet.

i can't decide, starlancer TAC or Paladin... but i already own a carrack and a redeemer. i get a loaner starlancer max for the tac wich is cool but i don't do cargo that much and i have better ships for that. knowing this what would you choose? Also, i will upgrade the TAC to the build version when available.

Both are amazing, take what you like more. Also loners are Redeemer and Max so bare that in mind too. o7

What an irony to get exactly the ship Redeemer as a loaner that they have previously generated for obviously this one. Be it as it may, I think that I will melt down my redeemer for it (and become a new!). Here you have at least a S3 shield again. Although both PowerPlant are S2 instead of 2xS3 on the Redeemer, it shouldn't matter much with a ballistic layout. And 4xS5 on a rail turret is already extremely great! The front armament of a Conni in just one turret. I have the feeling that they will nerf the ship very quickly. Since you have 4x s4 weapons here as a pilot, as long as the two remotes are not occupied, or am I wrong?

Hammerhead has twice the shielding and almost 3x as much firepower as the paladin, but it's also a subcapital ship.

You can buy 3 for the cost of a polaris... You can crew 2 for the same number as the polaris. It's not really comparable. I will say that it would be an interesting fight.

They said the redeemer has too big weapons for its size dual size 5. The paladin is about the same size and has a quad size 5.

Good video, I just can't pledge for a ship that isn't flyable with a month. I would rather wait until it actually comes out. For some reason I have a hammerhead in my asop I noticed for free today.

Why are comparing a capital ship with the Anvil Paladin? That makes no sense! And why CIG would nerf the Redeemer for a ship that doesn't exist? Why? The Anvil Paladin won't come in 2025. Just stop. Lol 🤣 facts are facts my friend, every time new shops comes in to a game old one gets nerfed. Just take a look at their wallpapers , always the new ship stands above an old ship which gets nerfed. They live from this, they have to earn money. It is what it is.
