some additional tips the rangefinder can be used on anything you know the rough dimensions of. for example a typical window is around half the height of a tank, so if it fits in the 300m range mark then you know its 150m away the lethal radius is HUGE. it has 10.5m lethal radius, which is more than some tank HE rounds. so if you hit a room then everyone inside is very, very dead. for a better comparison a GL has only 3.5m lethal radius the absolute maximum range of the LAT rockets is ~850m, eyeball it if you have an ammo crate next to you, the rocket flies at constant velocity, so you can just mentally continue the reticle beyond 500m for the HAT it is ~250-300m, the ridge below the scope lens is roughly where you aim for max range

RPG is Russian transliteration. It stands for Ruchnoi (handheld or portable) Protivotankoviy (anti-tank) Granatomet (grenade launcher/thrower).

1.The best advice for anyone trying to improve with the RPG is this. "JUST.TAKE.THE.SHOT" Just fucking do it man, it doesnt matter if its at 50m or 500. Shoot your shot, take cover, reload and make corrections and shoot again. Yes, you may or may not miss both shots, but the experience of actually doing it is invaluable. You are only going to get better with each shot. so just do it. 2. try to count how many gridsquares away the target is from you and if possible get a FT or SL mark on top of if, that way at least you know if is 200 or 300 meters, and then correct from 200 to 250 and so and so 3. when leading a vehicle, make a mental note where on the horizontal lines the shot hit and make corrections accordingly PS: the optic is PGO-7, you can just search for any video teaching the ins and outs of it. As always great video dude!

Nice quick guide! I primarily play LAT with 900+ hours and this is good info. RPG7 Tandem tip: If you are cursed enough to be using RPG7 Tandem, its a general best practice to aim slightly higher than the range to your target, even if its 100% accurate. The Tandem is a very heavy projectile, and its drop is typically 1-2 meters lower than what is described by its zeroing. IE: If you're perfectly zeroed and you aim dead center of the side armor, it is likely that your round will drop to the tracks area or even hit the ground.
@nicolaiflemling34739 ай бұрын
One additional advantage of the RÅG7 tandem round compared to others, is that if you are experienced enough, you can use the inherent drop to hit the top of the vehircle. This can be the best option sometimes if you are front facing an MBT.

@TheR00k10 ай бұрын
@@RustyBearbecause it's a backronym. Come on, man, it's not a rocket propelled grenade, it's a rocket propelled grenade LAUNCHER. In both the real world and the russian squad community any recoilless rifle is referred to as "the tube"/"труба"/"trubà", and the soldier carrying it is a "трубач"/"trubàch" - a play on words "tube" and "trumpet player" btw.

Honestly what helps me with ranging is I think of it like this. 100m I could hit with irons relatively easy 200m I could hit but it would take some time 300m is a crap shoot with irons on a rifle That works well and I probably hit 75% of my shots.

Here is a trick that I use: When I've used up all the HEAT rounds and only have frag rounds left and an enemy vehicle comes by and our Squad has no AT or ammo resupply, i'll purposely aim the frag round near the enemy vehicle and when it lands next to them, they usually get freaked out because they think a HEAT round landed right next to them and they will even sometimes retreat. Just don't hit the vehicle with the frag round because it will do no damage and they will know it was just a frag round.

real armies issue the RPG with a bipod because the support team / weapons team has the RPG alongside the MG (RPK/RPD). The point of a dedicated RPG man is to smash any armored advance, armor only moves up with the infantry supporting it (dismounted usually). The MG clears the infantry away from the tank/ifv/apc so the RPG can scorem a hit. In insurgency tactics (the way we see the RPG employed most often), the tends to be a self-sufficient additional demo item which is usually poorly employed in the open, and reserved for urban/ambush tactics.

Not what I was expecting for your next video but FAR from an information I was not intrigued at. As far as I know, in time I will need to learn to use all classes and their weapons and since I will go for the REDFOR factions and Russia, not knowing how to use the RPG is not an option (not like I am insane enough to neglect this beauty of a weapon.) You also simplified it very well for someone like me that can hardly tell the difference between 100 or 200 meters. (or any distance whatsoever.) Your videos are so far the most beginner friendly, I have seen about the game.

Sure the tandem are hard to use, bot for a reason. They are not the worse rounds in terms of destruction to tanks, in fact, they are the best. Thats something AT players should take into consideration. On urban fighting tandems are an absolute must to (relatively) easily take tanks out of the fight

@Monifans9 ай бұрын
i'm no expert, but afaik, in real life, there are ways you can calculate the speed of a moving vehicle. once you've found the approximate speed, you can then use the horizontal tiles to know how much you have to lead the vehicle to hit it. in squad, there is no good way of estimating vehicle speed besides raw experience in squad though, so that is why i say it's an experience thing.
