This video goes over "shamming" or "skating". I do not endorse being a blue falcon but I have never really seen a video where people go into detail with the actual process of shamming.

I had to get my wisdom teeth surgically removed. Got my initial profile and four day weekend. The Maxillofacial surgeon was kind enough to leave a bone fragment in my socket which got infected and lead me to getting my mouth opened again, and thus lead me to another 4 days of convalescent leave! 🤣😂 You should have seen some of the shit I got away with when I blew out my ACL out. I had to wait 5 months for surgery and that was another 30 days of convalescent leave! 🤣😂

If you are ever put in charge of a detail, THE VERY FIRST THING YOU DO IS WRITE DOWN THE NAMES OF EVERYONE ON THE DETAIL. You may never see them again.

The clipboard is the greatest tool in the E-4's arsenal. It is the best campflague you will ever use. Legend has it that snipers make their ghille suits out of clipboards. With a clipboard in hand, you can walk confidently in the fact that no one will stop you and ask what you're doing. You can sham an entire day away by walking around with a clip board. It's also a useful tool for being places you're really not supposed to be. Clipboards grant an unspoken level of rank. If it's a lower enlisted, it means they've probably been sent on a runner mission for someone important, or they're doing importance maintenance checks that cannot be interrupted. Always keep a clipboard or three in your car. You never know when you'll need it. You can get them at the dollar store and Walmart for cheap, but the Skillcraft clipboards are the real prize. Sadly, I lost my stalwart companion years after I got out. I have many clipboards, but none will ever fill the hole in my heart that Skilly left.
@lordpumpkinhead265
@lordpumpkinhead265 10 ай бұрын
If you really want to add to the authenticity of a clipboard, put on a couple sheets of paper with something written on them. You can then stroll with absolute confidence that people will think you're doing something important.

As an E4, I remember secretly scheduling my wisdom teeth extraction for the day before a 2 week FTX. My platoon sergeant and first sergeant were furious when they found out but I got the full 2 weeks off. My "platoon" had more NCO's than lower enlisted (6-4) and they made the lower enlisted do EVERYTHING. My only regret was not having the dentist remove one wisdom tooth at a time.

Seriously, I find doing push ups in boots much harder than bare feet or gym shoes, so start wearing stiff work boots when you work out, especially when doing push ups because you do push ups all day every day in basic. And leg lifts on your back.

I'm in the AR and when half my unit deployed there was a huge shitstorm of paperwork and regrouping people into platoons. I was an alternate on the mob roster but never had to go. Which meant that I was excused from all the responsibilities of the home team during the months leading up to the deployment. The last 2 months before new platoons were set up to accommodate for the finalization of the deployment I was still on the mob list but not going. I was never put into a new platoon during this time. I was in sweet purgatory for 2 drill weekends and wasn't under anyone's leadership which meant that I could do whatever I wanted to and get paid for it. Then a list turned up with people in my mos and I got busted when they found out that I was still at the unit.

I was the Caporegime of the E4 Mafia Ft. Knox MP Company crime family from 90-95. Joined up in 87 did my first stretch in Schweinfurt Germany from 88-90 with the 981st MP Co. Loved being an MP and loved even more being an E4. I watched the bullshit the NCO’s had to endure and decided early on that I didn’t want any part of it. Seen an E5 get a bad NCOER because one of his soldiers went home on leave and got a DUI and somehow this E5 was responsible for that. Also the points for MP’s to get promoted to E5 were astronomically high like in the 950 range and rarely dropped. I literally saw E4’s go through all the bullshit to become promotable and never make 5 because of the points and they wound up ETS’ing. But mainly I had zero desire to be responsible for shit I had zero control over. That was the deal breaker for me. Fuck that! Yessir 8 years of being a full bird private, command private major! So to all my made members of the E4 mafia I say to you all, SALUT! 🍻🏴‍☠️💪🏼

I had my wisdom teeth pulled at Campbell in '02, making two appointments (one for each side). Each appointment happened to be on a Wednesday morning just before a Friday-Monday 4-day, and I got 48-hours quarters. Report for PT Wednesday morning, head to the dentist at 0900 for the procedure, drop off a copy of the profile at the company, and drive to my apartment in Hopkinsville until Tuesday morning. Shamming is an art, and it doesn't stop with E-4. Even at Drill Sergeant School, I was an extremely motivated Candidate who would always volunteer when the Drill Sergeant Leaders (DSL) needed something. Problem was, I was a very senior SSG in my late-30s, so I was a little slower than most of the younger Candidates. DSL: "Give me five over here!" The entire class starts moving, most lethargically and usually 10-15 sprinting. I'd be just behind the sprinters, never quite making the cut for the detail but looking a lot better than the straphangers still near the formation area.

Claim that you are experiencing covid-19 symptoms. If your unit doesn’t have any at home covid tests available, you can go to the ER and have a covid-19 test done there, and after you will be instructed to quarantine until you get your results backs. Your results do not get reported to your chain of command, so you can stay quarantined until you feel like telling your leadership your results came back. ;)

No this is not shaming. Shaming is when you are supposed to be doing something but you are in the barracks room with your squad watching soaps or you don't want to be put on a duty so you all hide in the conex and act like you're cleaning it but you sleep. This guy is getting actual excuses. I shamed so hard once I woke up in my track and everyone had gone home. I was abandoned on peason ridge. We were clearing the place of UXO to so I hauled ass in the m113 alone worrying that there would be explosions all around. Which would have been cool. Now that is shaming.

Oh I got that beat…I was stationed in Schweinfurt Germany from 1988-1990. My platoon Sgt sent me to Nuremberg for a month to help with a remodeling project of the transient barracks upstairs on the 4th floor. At first I thought I was fucked and got all pissed off and didn’t want to go…lol…this is how stupid I was back then. Anyway this detail consisted of an old crusty E5 from KY who had one foot on his ETS paperwork and the other on a banana peel, myself and two other lower enlisted dudes. 😂 This is how our day went…every single day…for a MONTH! Got up about 6’ish in the morning. Ate breakfast. Got upstairs and smoked cigarettes and read the Stars and Stripes till 1000. Actually worked from 1000 to 1200. Took lunch from 1200 to 1330. Came back worked from 1330 to 1430. Was across the street from post in this bar called the Yellow Rose from 1440 till closing. Next day wash, rinse, repeat for a whole fucking month!
