I don’t think I’ve ever clicked on one of your videos so quickly. I watched this when it first came out last year and immediately LOVED it! I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about it for months now, and have recommend it to many friends and family members. I’m so glad this show is finally getting some of the attention it deserves. Here’s to hoping for season two!

Loved this show! It’s so good! Characterisation is perfect, the story is well paced and kept me on the edge with each scene. And especially love that it’s set in Australia and had a largely Australian cast. So disappointed that it ended without all the resolutions, particularly whether Jack and Belle end up together and what happens to Oliver. Really hope they give us a second season to see what happens next, it deserves it.

Yep it was a highly entertaining show. Better than at least 75 % of the other D+ shows that year. It absolutely never felt stale. Please Disney may we have another?

The costumes looked period-appropriate. The medicine was ... a little anachronistic, but mostly fit exactly with the times. There was the occasional slip-up with the language (OK was around then, but only as a very American extremely slang term, certainly not used by Governor's daughters in the colony). The buildings were perfect old Sydney Sandstone, and exactly what was around in the 1850s. I completely fell in love with the show and have re-watched it twice now. I shall be writing to Disney to give my support.

I’ve seen it ( binged it in 2 day + rewatched it twice) and I absolutely loved it. Dodger was always my favourite character in Oliver Twist, and I never really liked Oliver, so I was really happy with it. Renew please! The Artful Dodger Season 2, where are you?

I loved this show. I would also love to see another season! I’m not sure it was promoted enough or gained enough of a following for them to warrant it though. The two main actors did a fantastic job at portraying their romantic feelings towards each other in this show. I think that’s one of the reasons it was so good. Very well done!

I bing watched this season from the US. Aside from the cheating on spouses, I loved it and really want to see a second season. I enjoyed the storyline having Belle pursue being a surgeon, watching Jacks surgery education increase with the help of Belle saving lives and need to see their relationship continue.

I just finished this show, It was great. I honestly think there trying to make an effort for more people to watch this because it is new to my Disney plus (I live in America so that’s probably why) but it would be great if they made a second season ,just so much that was left off “I have to know”.

100% agree, except that dodger seemed uninteresting on his own. I can see how you got there but thomas brodie-sangster sold it for me. At first, I put this show on simply because the thumbnail of dodger and belle and i'm a sucker for period romance as well. But boy did they bait and switch me...at first. The rock music opening scene had me scratching my head and the medical gore had me cringing too. Totally not what I was expecting. In fact, I considered not even watching the next episode, But I am SO glad I did. It was so worth it (now I can just skip the medical scenes and go straight to what I want to see which is belle/jack...anyway I digress). You know I wouldn't feel such a desperate need for season 2 if they had tied up the romance with a lovely reunion scene but why oh why did they torture us with that ending?!? And now, DisneyPlus has taken it off their platform and put it back solely on Hulu. I am devastated! Come on, Disney....what the heck?! there is a petition online to get a second season. I think it's gotten up to 20,000 signatures but until Disney sees $ they won't budge. It's just sad cuz they have all the great elements and would make such a compelling sequel series. thank you for reviewing this show and here's hoping our pipe dream will come true!

As someone who cannot watch medical shows and documentaries because I can't handle the opened up human/animals, I was surprised to not be bothered by the operation scenes, first time I could watch scenes like that

The question floating around my head is why the networks didn't promote it as much as other new shows on Disney+/Hulu? Anyone notice this and can explain why? And how long do we have to wait to know if we get a season 2! Truly "untapped potential" if left without a continuation into season 2!

anne with an e was also really good in my opinion and they also got cancelled. from what I could read it was cancelled because they didn't get the viewer age range they wanted It seems they were going for young adults to older teens but it could be a different way of them saying there just wasn't enough viewers for it. they did try to tie it off to some degree with the last season but I'm still sad it's discontinued. i heard there was a woman writing up a little ending video for it to tie up some loose ends and give the show a proper ending but I haven't seen it released anywhere so I'm not sure..

I think it's a great show with a lot of room for more things to happen to the characters, but I feel like all the character arcs have sort of reached their natural conclusion.
