Hey Tinker This is Wheeler. LOL I love mouse guns and have a few of these, even the camper version. They are great little gun and surprisingly accurate and reliable guns. Keep up the posts I am enjoying watching them, old accurate guns are the best……

Had one of these, many years ago. Fully agree with every point made here, especially about the advantages of cheap target practice. I did, a lot, and developed accuracy over time. I was able to kill waterfowl on a large pond, 25m away or more. Thank you for an interesting and factual video.

I have one of these little jewels. Unfortunately, it broke a sear pin recently. However, I found a replacement pin on Gunbroker and waiting for it to arrive so it can come back to life. Lots of fun to shoot.

A true “get off of me” gun or maybe belly gun. Not “you carry it in a waistband” but “you poke it into the aggressor’s belly and pull the trigger as many times as you can.”

Had one of those decades ago in .22 short FUN GUN. 3rd gun as a backup did not keep it a long time. Favor the .25 but the .22 Short was as said a fun shooter. Enjoyed your review and channel. Thanks for your efforts in giving us interesting guns to view.

I have owned several over the years and in 25acp as well. Be careful when purchasing one of these. Reason is from no last round hold open many dry fire the expected last shot. Soft Spanish steel, the firing pin will put a serious ding in the top of chamber when dry fired. With that ding you will get failure to feeds. The soft bullet will hang on the ding. The fix is very simple, small polishing stone with dremel tool. Go easy with the stone. So, just keep a mental round count when shooting, and mine will also run CCI CB shorts! Fun guns!

🟦…A friend had some ballistic tests done on his '66 Colt Jr In 22-short,.. and the results surprised everyone! ... Unfortunately I don't recall which style 22-short it was except for that it was a 27 grain copper plated hollow point by CCI. ...The results were; 850 Fps & 13 to 14-inches of penetration in ballistic-gel. ...For such a small round come'n out of a barrel that's not even 2-in long,.. I think that's Awesome!

i have one in 22s and a firecat (200) in 25. the firecat, if i remember correctly, is a little smaller. it, like the cub, is of high quality. my 200 has a grip safety. why carry either when one could carry the kt p-32. i never had a raven in the 80's but i did have a jennings jamomatic j22 and an fie titan in 25 that were fun to play with and great for learning how to clear jams. the 80's were a great time to be a young adult in america and the 70's were a great time to be a kid. things were a lot simpler and straight forward.

I have an Astra Cub .25 cal. I will either carry my Taurus Gx4 9mm regular clothing or my KelTec p32, 32mm when wearing shorts. My Astra Cub is my last resort backup. These are belly guns. Not 10+ yard guns. These are up close and personal that's why the sights are so small and actually unnecessary like the Seecamp .32, they have none. Also when most bad guy thugs start hearing bang, bang, bang, they run. They do not like getting shot...by nothing. Either a .22 short, .22LR, .25cal. etc. etc. I love my little Astra .25cal. Wish they were still making them. I want a new one.

Insofar as little guns go my father inexplicably obtained a NAA miniature revolver in ... .22WMR. In stock form (with a grip big enough to get 1½ fingers around) the accuracy was along the like of 30°. With the folding grip allowing the luxury of all fingers making contact perhaps as tight as 3-5°. I'm not sure that it's seen much more than 2 boxes of ammo through it.

Somewhere in the mid 60s, Colt came out with a conversion kit to convert their 25 acp to a 22 short. I have no idea what the logic behind this was, nor do I know if they were ever successful. I saw one at a gunshow a few years back still in the original box.I probably would have bought it just as a novelty but the gentleman who owned it was a bit too proud of it in my opinion.
@chrisstrefling61939 ай бұрын
Actually I think what you saw was an Astra that was branded Colt. Colt contracted Astra to make the Colt junior which is the same as the Astra cub
@joshhayl745917 күн бұрын
🟦…Certain parts of the 25 caliber version are beefier than the 22 short version, which is why they were able to make a conversion kit to go down to the 22 but the 22 could Not be converted up to a 25 because the foundational parts of the 22-frame just aren't robust enough.

Any thoughts on the Beretta 950 22 short or 25acp?
@tinkertalksguns7289 Жыл бұрын
Good little guns, very well made. A Beretta 950 in either caliber would suit me quite well, but like these guns they have gotten expensive enough that I have trouble prioritizing one with my budget.

I've got a 950 Minx in .22 short made in 1957. I've shot it a number of times and I keep it in the pocket of my bathrobe. It's main feature is it's concealability but the Beretta is good quality for this type of pistol. I really like the tip up barrel, it allows me to chamber a round with the hammer down for carry.

I enjoyed the video. I see you trying to shoot tight groups with little guns. Those are normally called face pistols in that they are used at close range, aimed instinctively, and work best when fired at someone face. Without a chronograph or at least someone else's data with the same ammo and gun it is difficult to really know what velocities one is getting. I agree that the .25 ACP is the best of the lot. What has sort of killed those guns is first legal attacks by lawyers against the makers of raven and related guns made by that group. Now there are .32s and .380s first by keltec and others that are not much larger than many of the smaller guns. And americans like more power these days.
@tinkertalksguns7289 Жыл бұрын
I relish the challenge; it's fun to try for good groups with a gun never intended for the purpose.

I have abandoned the 22 Short for groundhogs. I found it to be unethical even out of a rifle, as it is not instant lights out even with a head shot. I would certainly not trust my life to this round.
