The Switch Animal Crossing should give players the option of joining the HHD. Not only would you be designing homes for your villagers,but it's also a nice way to incorporate a daily job in AC.
@Lucifronz5 жыл бұрын
That would not be bad. It would be nice to have an actual job option in Animal Crossing, akin to our original part-time job with Tom Nook back in the day, and it would definitely be fun to decorate every home in town besides just your own. EDIT: I just want to apologize for thinking of this long after you had already mentioned it, forgetting all about this comment and thinking it was my own idea. Though I will not apologize for advocating for it, because it's a cool idea and I want it.

For me personally, Happy Home Designer doesn't NEED to have a "point" or a fail state. I find designing homes inherently fun. Like, that's why I play the game. Because I can do whatever I want. If the villager was yelling at me because I did something unorthodox with his home, it wouldn't be fun anymore.

You know how Amiibo festival would have avoided all that flak? 1-Ensure there’s already a main series Animal Crossing game on the console. 2-Make the use of Amiibo optional rather than forcing it. 3-Add a whole variety of Minigames to be played at the end of each turn just like in Mario Party. 4-Add more locations for the board game. 5-(Optional) A story mode.
@Prauwlet2134 жыл бұрын
One of these was clearly gex.

Not that many people dislike happy home designer. It’s pretty fun. Most people said it was hit or miss. Amiibo Festival people didn’t like because it wasn’t what they were expecting and it feels like a Mario party rip off. If amiibos weren’t required and we could play the minigames in the party mode, it would be pretty fun. We also got Animal Crossing Plaza on Wii U. In this spinoff, villagers and special characters will gather around the town tree as your Mii wanders around. You can mark different characters as your favorite and post things about the games and characters on Miiverse.

I was really inspired by HHD. I got it literally yesterday and the gameplay would be really great as part of a future main title game. Designing the facilities in the town center was really fun.
@cloudkitsune174 жыл бұрын
You only need one amiibo to play Festival. Once you scan one amiibo, you can select multiple default villager characters to use for everyone else to be. Its really not that bad. I actually really like amiibo Festival, as its a much more relaxing party game that I've enjoyed with family. The bonus with having amiibos, though, is unlocking outfits. And the mini games are nice, too. (Also, the quiz show with the pictures makes more sense if you're a hardcore Animal Crossing New Leaf fan who had to really tell the fake vs real art for the museum all the damned time.)

I feel like Amiibo Festival would´ve been more positively received, if it were for three changes: The Pricing (Might as well make it an eShop game for 10-15 bucks since it requires Amiibo Support), The Amiibo support not being forced. And the third part, and I feel like this is extremely important: The way it got announced. A few days before E3, the internet went wild, because Nintendo of Italy had updated their homepage, with a picture of Animal Crossing Amiibo. Everybody expected an actual game, the hype was extremely big, I was part of it, so I know how devastated everyone was when Amiibo Festival was being announced. But thinking about it now, the game´s not half bad. I like to throw it on and play with friends whenever we want something calm to play. Also on the note of the pricing: Chuggaaconroy did mention, that one of the Nintendo Employees at E3 said that the game would be for free, since it´s so Amiibo heavy.

Despite not having as much depth as a traditional Animal Crossing game, I personally found Happy Home Designer to be quite an enjoyable game. Even though the game gives you the freedom to pretty much do whatever you want with the animal's houses, I always preferred to stick to the theme that had been requested. Even when the animal's request was "I'll leave it up to you!" I'd still try to design the house with the character in mind. Because of this playstyle, my only gripe with the game was the fact that you couldn't design your own personnel house. Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival on the other hand, while it had some good ideas it was still mediocre overall. Desert Island Escape was fun and I'm glad it was given a second chance in New Leaf's Welcome Amiibo update, but that also destroyed what little value Amiibo Festival had.

Honestly, I kind of agree with you. I'm usually only able to play Animal Crossing late at night now after work, and at that point all of the shops in game are already closed. They did kind of fix this with the ordinances in New Leaf, but still would be nice to be able to choose how long each day lasts in your town.
@mrmaniac35 жыл бұрын
I agree. It's a difficult subject though, how do you handle it without having it in real-time exactly? What would the day be like? I've also never been fond of Stardew Valley's really short days. They go by so quickly.

I had this EXACT same problem when I started playing New Leaf again recently. But, in the end I decided to just cleanup my existing town and continue playing. I could never bring myself to demolish my town with all of my villagers in it ;w; The only way I know of that lets you keep your old town and start fresh is by buying a 2nd cartridge to play on. Your town is saved on the cartridge so if you want to have two towns, you have to have two cartridges. :(

@@Jakstalgia I just don't like sims in general, given my experience with 'em. I haven't tried an Animal Crossing game, maybe the new one on Switch will get me, but it's because of the genre itself that keeps me away from it. City Folk is the only bad game. The spin offs weren’t even that bad just kind of boring and even with spin offs you have to come to realize they are spin offs and won’t have as much to live up to. Happy Home Designer was really cool but it was short and lacked content and Amiibo Festival was just a bit barebones and 80% of the hate is just because true Animal Crossing fans hate it so everyone jumped on the band wagon. But City Folk is a “REAL” Animal Crossing game. It was literally Wild World on the Wii. It had better graphics, and that was it. It barely added anything and the things it did were just plain GARBAGE. The City was boring and just an over hyped shopping area, it added events but they are just not really interesting, plus the controls are actual aids, just try writing a letter to someone. And worst of all FUCKING GRASS DETERIORATION! Why is this an addition? I spent at least 2-3 years consistently playing the original, Wild World and New Leaf. City Folk I lasted only 6 months playing on and off every 2-3 weeks. Look at the changes from GameCube to Wild World or Wild World to New Leaf, they added so much while City Folk didn’t feel like an upgrade or a step up, just a side step or even a step down in my opinion. The controls were just a nightmare in this game.

They made the same mistake with CF, that they made with Zelda PH and ST on the DS, only on the Wii, by forcing you to use the Wiimote at all times to move your character by pointing it at the TV screen.
