raven was probably the first character that really resonated with me growing up. like, sure, obviously there had been characters in media i liked or empathized with, but i think raven was the first i truly Felt on a deeply personal level. season 4 hit me HARD. as a depressed young teen who had been dealing with abuse for the entirety of my life thus far, seeing this character in such a seemingly hopeless situation persevere despite the odds out of sheer will, to see her choose to keep going, and to see her find love and acceptance amongst friends despite her moody disposition, truly meant the world to me.

Raven's tragedy is her struggle with emotions, expressing who she is and dealing with control. Self control. Even if she and her father are not human, Trigon is a realistic representation of an abusive parent and control freak. This was before White Diamond and Shadowweaver appeared. And why this episode for me is why Raven is my favorite titan. This episode was her fall but this was a rebirth and rise against her heritage and Trigon. To be herself and who she is. And being a Titan. Being a hero. And being a human being.

Nah, Raven was always the weakest on a pure character standpoint. Complete monotone delivery, dull and nearly colorless design, doesn't seem to like anybody most of the time-- thoroughly the weakest link. Being overpowered and having a dark origin may be what makes most heroes in this sort of genre, but you need a PERSONALITY in order to actually be a CHARACTER.

She actually does have a personality, it's just more subtle. Characters here and in any creation are more expressive on a fundamental level and the most common seen. But like actual humans not everyone is emotive. Or at least, not all emotes are understandable. There's mor psychological and other fancy words that can explain this.

That's definitely one of the takes of all time.

This is such a surface-level take, I can't even begin to fathom how you came to this conclusion.
