Great video, your exactly right about the climate, altitude and temp. changes, when i first got into airguns years ago i nearly pulled my hair out before i figured all this out, they are some of the most sensitive things i have ever worked with. The slightest changes will really throw you off target. Take care shoot safe & often.

thank you brother. yes when I first got into this I was pretty dissapointed how my point of impact kept changing in the cold weather but I'm a lot better now haha Safe shoo-in brother more coming soon

Thanks for the info. I have a permission shoot up at Skaw Valley & I was wondering about the altitude change know I know what to expect.

no problem brother. usually all it takes is another quick zero validation once your up there. enjoy brother!

When you tune your gun in the cold, rear reg for example at 130 bar, when you are in the heat that rrg will be 6 to 8 bars below the set temp. It will close before the 130 bar.

All metal on my cocking block pin aswell (MK2)

good to know brother. hopefully we here from more people or else you and I may have broken the plastic of our pins lol
@MrIbanezRGfan2 жыл бұрын
@@bassavenueoutdoors1203 I had disassembled it right after purchase to install the power goods from Huma. So yeah always been just a metal pin. But putting some plastic around it is actually a great idea. Mine developed a sharp edge (burr) in the slot where the cocking pin is engaging with the hammer. Here and then I need to do some smoothening

I am confuse your statement about higher altitude lower air density is correct, but by the same token lower air density also means less drag on a projectile giving you higher speeds or velocity please explain what do you mean?
@bassavenueoutdoors12032 жыл бұрын
I can be wrong but I think you are trying to apply the rules of a "FIREARM" to a PCP AIR RIFLE. if im not mistaken a Projectile being shot out of a firearm may have a higher velocity and point of impact because the source of power is the explosion of gun powder. with a PCP AIR RIFLE the flight of the projectile relies on the power of air.

your in california we should hook up sometime brother! I got a few air rifles you can try out

Although your bottle pressure will rise and drop , depending on the atmosphere temperature . It should only be the shot count that changes up or down . As a sealed unit , if your regulators are working properly and based on your settings , those pressures shouldn’t change . Am I wrong in thinking this way ? I can understand how air density and moisture will effect the speed of your projectile once it leaves your barrel . It is , if you want to be accurate , having a chronometer attached to your PCP to confirm your velocity prior to a match and location . Make the necessary adjustments at the speed you found your favorite pellet to shot . I think I speak for everyone when I say this . Some PCP’s do a better job shooting a more consistent velocity than others . I find myself questioning consistency with my Impact and it comes down to mostly the regulators functioning consistently. To be fair , filling your carbon tank on your PCP may not be that simple . Filling these high pressure bottles with the same density of air is a big question mark for me. You have two issues to deal with here . Moisture and how it effects the valves . Is it good or bad and how much does it effect variance in velocity with each fill . At a range and in competition you are having different sources to fill your PCP bottles . Also , what damage does moisture play over time in corrosion with all the moving parts .

Great content. Which FX Impact air gun do you recommend? And what is the best scope to buy? Thank you.
@psychowim2 жыл бұрын
scope, look for what you need in zoom and budget, I have the vortex venom 5/25. around 670 on my impact m3 .25 700mm, ferfect scope . anything more expencive makes it lighter, sharper and more clics to tune. it all depends on your budget. quality equals price. What caliber do you want to shoot? Slugs or pellets? bullpop or tradutional stock? those are the quantions you need to solve for yourself and then c whats meets your needs.
@bassavenueoutdoors1203 Жыл бұрын
honestly it depends on what you want to do with your rifle. any fx impact will do well and if you just have fun and stick to pellets you will not run into any

Your wouldn't happened to have some extra O rings the one that go on the valve adjustment
@Light_357 Жыл бұрын
Your theory could very well be wrong. Air expansion/ pressure increase does not always mean your velocity should go up. If the early summer tune was really good with the hammer strike meshing very nicely with the valve pressure then an increase in pressure in the plenum would make the valve a little harder to open. Hitting it with the same hammer pressure wouldn’t open it as much thus creating a lower velocity even though plenum pressure was higher.
@bassavenueoutdoors1203 Жыл бұрын
thank you for the tip brother. your point of view is correct but this also depends on what point of the power curve your hammer spring is set at. in my case my velocity dropped and my velocities were all over the place. when you velocity is all over the place this usually means your hammer is overpowering your valve or something is mechanically wrong with the rifle. Truly appreciate you brother please like and subscribe to my channel and id love to discuss airgun with you and others. safe shooting✌
