Hey General0ne, thanks for this basic vid on refrigeration, i have an issue with my fridge at home and never knew what the parts were or what they were used for or how the compressor worked, i've searched up hundreds of vids trying to find out but other vids are too complicated, this one was simple and straight forward, thanks a lot for this video and ignore those negative comments there are always people out there that think they know things better.

sir could you please tell me what happens when AC is turned off and the refrigerant which is still inside the evaporator is subjected to room temperature , whether it will change the phase or is there any device which controls this change in phase, if it changes its phase then it will create pressure on the walls of evaporator since compressor is turned off. What exactly Happens inside??
@FKmechofficial

Dear when the unit is turned off then the Pressure of refrigerant get higher inside the evaporator in off mode.and with pressure is also become higher.

141psi on the low side? What am I missing here? Ive never seen a system run at that pressure. What gas? Typically low pressure side is 20-70psi depending on gas and whether it's a freezer or cooler so this is new to me.
@general0ne
@general0ne 4 жыл бұрын
I was simply going by the tag that was on the unit. It was a scrapped dehumidifier that was running R22 refrigerant, if I remember correctly. It was listed as 360PS high, 144 PS low. I had assumed that they were measuring PSI, but I have never worked on a system that ran on those pressures, either. this is quite an old (and quick) video, and I really need to make an updated version of it. Even if it were labeled to European standards, where "PS" would be the design pressures, that still seems to high, and it's certainly not measured in bar, as the whole unit would've grenaded at 360 bar, so who knows? Maybe that's why this thing failed in the first place?!?

Why is compressor used to increase the pressure of refrigerant when in the next part in capiliary tube is there to decrease the pressure , pls someone clarify
@general0ne
@general0ne 4 жыл бұрын
The refrigerant being compressed causes it to change phase to a liquid, while the capillary tube sets the point in the system where the refrigerant will "decompress" and return to its gaseous state. It's the phase change in the refrigerant which allows it to transfer heat from one side to the other in the system. Without the pressure differential, the gaseous refrigerant would simply be pumped in a loop, not accomplishing much. This is why specific refrigeration systems must contain a certain amount of refrigerant. Not enough refrigerant, and the pressure on the "high side" will not reach the point where it changes state to liquid, and too much will not allow the refrigerant to fully revert back to gas, also possibly damaging the compressor.

Hello I'm sakib from Bangladesh, can i make a small air cooler by using this system
@general0ne
@general0ne 4 жыл бұрын
You should be able to, given that all refrigeration systems follow the same basic principles, and that a dehumidifier is just a small air conditioner that recycles the warm and cool air rather than having the hot and cold sides split. When I was in college, we weren't allowed to have air conditioners in the dorms, but we were allowed to have a dehumidifier. I modified one to use two fans, draw the air from the side of the unit, and blow the cool air into the room, and the hot air out the window. It wasn't great, but it did keep my room quite a bit cooler then the others in my building :)

No!.Unless its a brushed dc type but I'm not sure if those exist.the motor used in dc compressors is brushless because it has no brushes to wear but only bearing(which last for a long time).You can try with a RC ESC controller since the motor is brushless.

Your best chance would be to check with your local officials. I'm not sure what the regulations would be to open a repair shop. Here in the US, you would need to be certified before working on refrigeration systems commercially.

There are 4 main parts to a refrigeration system, you forgot the metering device i.e. expansion valve, piston, cap tube. Also, those pressure are design pressures, not operating pressures.
@andyjones7121
@andyjones7121 9 жыл бұрын
Maybe he was talking too fast for you guys. The expansion "valve" in this system is the small tube connected to the larger tube. Um, when the refrigerant goes from a small diameter to large, it expands, hence the name. I'm trying to imagine how this could get any simpler. Maybe search for "really REALLY basic refrigeration" A ten year old could follow this.
@Splinter4077
@Splinter4077 9 жыл бұрын
Open Windows There is no expansion valve on this, the small tube is called a throttler. Smaller diameter tubes move less fluid for the same amount of pressure, so it acts like an expansion valve, but there is no control for it.
