I completely agree with Jon's stance. As an employee of Apple and watching the gradual changes, it could not be more evident what is going on. I remember when Apple said their vision was just a slab of glass in your hand and they slowly began altering the state of the phone to prepare everyone for it. Now with Vision Pro on the rise, we can now wear our Apple Watch, Mac, and iPhone on our heads. In 10 years I can totally see something the size of glasses or even contacts replacing what we currently have. Even if parts of the hardware are contained in something pocket size connected to said glasses. I miss the days when people still followed Apple's line of thinking different. So many customers come into the store with this limited thinking that comes from a negative place and my job gets increasingly more difficult when trying to get them to open their mind and see things differently. Why do we hate change yet constantly talk about needing it?
@southerncyan409810 ай бұрын

I remember hearing somewhere (probably fuh pah tuh) that Steve tried to give us an iPad but only had the technology for an iPhone in 2007 so that's why he started there. I agree with you Jon, Tim has a "vision" in mind (probably slim AR glasses) but does not have that technology available to him at the moment so he is starting with the Vision Pro. AR Glasses can 100% replace your phone. No more need to pic it up if notifications and the time show up actively in your vision through out the day. Who knows, maybe Tim is hoping he can get AR Contact lenses! That way people don't even know we are using them. How crazy would that be.
@philipehusani10 ай бұрын
Slim AR glasses is every ones vision... Lol. It has been in sci-fi movies for decades now and no one has had the tech to do it. If the tech does does become available, everyone would do it. Apple doesn't build any tech, they just get from manufacturers and have it assembled by someone else. If the tech is available, other design companies would also get from manufacturers and have it assembled. Apple is a marketing company, not a tech company.

Vision Pro is definitely Apple’s next focus. I whole heartedly agree it’ll eventually replace the iPhone. I work at one of the Apple Stores, and you should see how much pressure they’re putting on us to make sure we get even something as simple as verbage down to a science when talking about Vision Pro. It’s going to take a few iterations, much like it did for the Apple Watch to become mainstream, but I think the crux will be when they add cellular to the AVP

Before you can retire your phone. Maybe they’ll have something smaller, better, for people who don’t need to wear them all day just to see, to drive, etc. And they can just pop them on as needed to access information or take pictures and then slide them back in their pocket. But for people who wear glasses all day, they need a better solution or just be left out of the fun. The future. 😂

I think you are spot on Jon ... here is the future I see. 1. Your Apple Watch becomes the center, meaning it takes the burden of being your wireless connection to the world. 2. Vision (or a version of it) becomes a pair of glasses that can both correct your vision and be sunglasses ... while being the main computer you interact with regularly throughout the day. 3. Only when you need to do more interaction with data that a Vision doesn't most effectively support ... does the user switch to something else ... a small tablet (which is what the iPhone migrates toward) Mac, etc. That allows that future small tablet to be thinner as well ... since it doesn't have to do the heavy GPS and wireless connection duties. - Yep ... I said doody.

Reminds me of the Nokia Lumia 925, very impressive phone. Oled + Wireless Charging + Optical Stabilization and this capture button back in 2014

I know many many people who automatically turn their phone to landscape when they video. It simply provides a better video for anyone that knows how to turn the phone sideways which is everybody if they could be bothered.

Fully agree! I think every other Apple device, iPhone/iPad/Mac, will get new features that will compliment Vision Pro. And the iPhone will be gradually downgraded to be an accessory to the Vision Pro.

Just to add to what was said in this video, with spacial video currently being limited to recording at 1080p I believe that should the ultra wide camera on the next iPhone models indeed increase its MP count to 48, that we will be able to record spacial videos at 4k. I'm also wondering if Apple allow the iPhone 16s to record 8k video as im sure they would then have the bandwidth to record it...

I agree completely with the iPhone 16 being able to record spacial video at 4K, since the ultrawide camera is rumored to have 48MP, like you said. However, another important point that needs to be addressed is to increase the frame rate from 30fps to 60fps. However, I do believe it will happen with the iphone 16 pro, the Apple way.

iPhone is 100% stzying the top focus for apple, Vision Pro will only be sold to less then 5% of apple users. Its thensame as facebook Meta, it sounds good but a few years later the Fad will go away. Vision pro is mainly for single users especially with any price over £500. Tha Camera button yes will help users finally go back to landscape. Phones will always be the majour technology we own & use, well for the next 20 years at least.

The people who say mixed reality isn’t the future are the same people who said HDTV would never take off.
