1. The French had more Native allies than the British in the Seven Years war 2. Pontiac was mad that the British did not give as many gifts as the French did after the British conquest of New-France. 3. The beginning of the wars with the Native-Americans is an awful title since it ignores the Beaver Wars and King Philip's War. this video is garbage.

Always the same thing, conflict breaks out, false promises of allowing the natives to keep their lands, rinse and repeat.

I appreciate how you are careful to include when the native tribes initiated combat. To be clear, many of these tribes were extremely proud people from warrior traditions. They didn't just roll over. They adapted to the new settlers over time, and a large part of that adaptation was sometimes to make peace and then break it when opportune. Switching alliances, playing the Europeans against each other was part of it too. My point is that so many times, we hear this portrayed as white man:Hilter-red man:smoke peace-pipe and that's horse manure. The natives deserve an honest telling of their history, and for a 20 minute survey, you've done the topic justice. Well done!

3:08 I'd just like to add that _Onondaga, NY_ , though it's had a white majority for centuries, was originally the capital of the Iroquois Confederacy. The chiefs of all 6 tribes congregated there before Sullivan's expulsion. But now, more than 97% of all ethnic Iroquois live up in Canada.

American Indians arent indigenous, they migrated to North America from Asian. So that makes them indigenous to Asian not America.

When you argue semantic points like this (which your point is completely valid) with people who play the "indigenious American victim card", you are generally already arguing with people who believe stupid beliefs like "transgenderism" magically turns people into real women, etc.

I wonder. Were the various tribes aware of the extent of European power globally? Did they know the geography of the mapped out world? It seems like they weren't and repeatedly put their trust in the honor of European leaders without realizing the greater trend of genocide and colonisation.

People tend to see others through their own lense. This can be created by their conditioning or distorted through their heuristics (often empirically). A lot of Yanks fear outsiders because when they were the outsiders, they were ruthless in their pursuit of conquest. They go to great lengths to Americanise newcomers, but when they perceive a flood, their worst fears come to the fore. These are very interesting times.

Great video, what Happens to the the Natives in America (well almost everywhere if not everywhere when its a war of conquest like this) I feel like sadly was not something that could have been prevented the sides where never going to agree unless the natives gave up there land and status which wasent gonna happen the USA was way to hard focused on expansion for chances or things to change if only war wasent so brutal cause no one in war is right or the "good guy".

In Latin America, Indians still live peacefully, and in countries such as Peru, Bolivia and Guatemala, their languages and culture are widely used. Bolivia even has an Indian president. In Canada, there is a territory called Nunavut, which is an administrative territory of the indigenous population with their language as a second language in this territory. Throughout America, colonists more or less got along with Indians. And only the United States fought with them, attracting an entire army and paying for their scalps. And now the United States is trying to shift the blame to the British, French and Spanish, although no one destroyed the Indians as they did.
