The defeat of one enemy is likely to give rise to another, of different type and power but no less dangerous. Social interactions inevitably generate friction and rivalries; blissful isolation invites envy; and friendships and alliances are both a response to, and a source of, enmity. Regardless of how hard we try to live in harmonious relations with others, enemies are an incapable and enduring reality of personal & political life
The question is what should we do about them. Compete with them and defeat them? Yes, of course. But even before doing that, perhaps we can benefit from them.

But in other way, also the stupidest way to maintain peace, as proven with this approach when dealing Germany's question in the aftermath of WW1 when compared to the Revolutionary French's question in the aftermath of Napoleonic War at the Conference of Vienna and Paris, at the end result on maintaining peace between each other. It's over-exaggerating overall human capabilities in avoiding error and lacking of their own, we need to acknowledge that human is just really stupid and selfish being but doesn't mean we have to stuck in there as if we're static being. Sure, you'll have enemies is normal, but to what extend they're rivaling & opposing you is the extend of question we really now have to discuss, disagreement isn't in any way equal to confrontation and non-cooperation as social being.

I've found that more important than enemies are rivals, friends who can take an adversarial position to you that you have someone to constantly test your mettle against in an honorable field of mutual growth. You need someone to measure against if you're on your way to the top. Then, when the chips are down, they're your best ally. We grew up on this as a videogame trope, and it works in real life. Someone who you take pleasure in conflict with, someone who will split a drink afterwards. Sometime who won't plateu and won't let you, lest you never know victory again. Conflict can, in the end, become a game in its own right.

Nice timing on the posting. Got a guy at work who has given me death threats. Never had anyone do that to me before so I've been coming to work with hand cuffs and improvised bo-staff. He's been increasingly hostile to me every time I see him despite my coworkers telling me "Nah,he's cool." This guy has been trying to push my buttons and get a rise out of me ever since I started working here. He's condescending, boisterous, he's basically a school yard bully and my coworkers are more than happy to roll over and let this guy walk all over them. I think just he's salty at me just because I got the balls to tell him I won't tolerate his behavior. He's probably more intimidated of me than I am of him. Took this to my Boss, he doesn't think he'll follow through with his threat and I honestly don't think so either. I'd rather make peace with the guy over a drink; I suspect we have a few things in common but "si vis pacem, parabellum" and all that.

My enemies are a positive note for my life I just ignore them and laugh my ass off as they go against me that's my view towards people even family but I work hard and make good money and live life and pay my bills and look forward to my Future of life plus I thought I had a mental problem by how my parents treated me growing up but I've always been more of a rebel from when I was young till upon my adulthood but I learned more about myself and Life running the streets hanging out and meeting new walks of life then I ever learned going to school but I was convinced thinking to trust my parents by going on medication but the minute I tryed skipping a day without my medication the curtain fell and I was back in my strong outlook on people and life and I feel all bad intentions right at my feet and the enemies against me are puzzled
