The Gibb River Road - one of Australia’s most iconic 4wd adventures. We’d been looking forward to this part of our trip for a long time and can say that it didn’t disappoint.
In this first video of our Gibb series, we kick off the adventure by exploring Tunnel Creek; a cave hiding bats and sneaky freshwater crocs, with a 20m swim through a dark pool, this one naturally took Ché a bit of convincing. Though with some rock art at the end and a feeling of accomplishment after finishing, Tunnel Creek quickly became one of our highlights.
We then get to the impressive Bell Gorge, one of the largest waterfalls on the Gibb, and spend hours rock hopping and swimming in the many beautiful pools. Not a bad way to kick it off if you ask us.
P.S. For those thinking about getting to the Gibb one day, do it!! The videos in this series will also include where we camp and other useful info to plan out your own adventure.
Cheers!
Matt & Ché
