I own one in Poland, for few years now.. its 1999, made in 1998 so one of the earliest versions. I did about 70 000 kilometers with it, had many, many adventures and it NEVER let me down. Not a single time. Its the greatest car i ever had and i highly doubt anything will be able to dethrone it.

One of the reasons why they use them in Australia is the distance per tank, over 1000kms range per tank in a big country is very important. Also reliability and parts Toyota parts are readily available here.

@@JOHNSMITH-if9jrI own one, maybe you too, but I just got back from Far north Qld with my LX470 4speed and averaged 15L/100, sometimes 13, that equates to around 950km per 140Litre(includes sub tank). If you stick to just under the speed limit in Aus. they can be reasonable good on fuel, leave the bloody roof rack of though! 😢 Your fuel use will go to around 22L/100!!!

Yota really needs to release a few retro versions of this vehicle in America geared towards the overland and off road crowds. Imagine the excitement if they released a true, off-road ready two door Land Cruiser for a reasonable price. Triple lockers, 35s as a factory option. They're missing out....

Land Rover - if it's not leaking it's ran out of oil!! Love the 100 series, had a petrol 80 series years ago. How do you find driving it round on the roads day to day? Why not get an LPG conversion will save you a ton of cash! Make longer videos of this 100 series, running costs etc. Keep up the great content just subscribed. Have a happy new year 2023! :)

The world was first exposed to Japan's version of the American army Jeep for civilian use in the 1950s. Imported into Australia at the time by Theiss Brothers, a civil engineering company working on the Snowy Hydro Electric Scheme. Those first vehicles were recognised for their rugged capabilities, which has held true over the years of new model releases. Theiss was the Australian importer for many decades until Toyota Australia came into being. It is said that the Land Cruiser built post WW2 Australia. I agree, the 100 series and it's varient the 105 is possibly their best allround passenger model. Cheers, HDJ105 owner

Correction...the middle east and africa on the 100 series also had 4500 inline 6 version which was bullet proof and they also came manual transmission 1998-2007. Same engine of the 80 series 1FZ-FE engine. The 2006-2007 came with a 5 speed auto as well

There must be something about what you said, ive owned and have been driving a 60series daily for 24 years now, the cheapest car ive own even with all the fuel use, its done over 700.000km, its been everywhere in Australia, never left me standing and now own a 100 series as well, actually its a LX470 with nearly 500.000km both never rebuilt. Anyway, now both my daughters have an LC as well now, one a 60 and the other a 105. Funny that!?

If a land cruiser 100 2007 has done 99,000 miles is it worth buying? Will it drive like new If suppose I upgrade everything. From engine parts like sbelts and chians to a complete interior damping worth 20k ? Is it worth it ? Also adding alloys and wheels (tyres)? That land cruiser 10/ also has original headphones with it as well so its that well maintained.

Although beeing a happy owner of a LC 90 series for 20 years and a LC 150 series (in other markets known as Prado or Colorado), I`ve always fancied the 100 series. As I bought the LC 90, the 100 series was far too expensive. As I bought the LC 150, the rare, well maintained, well kept and not abused cars of the 100 series still were too expensive. The rest was too rusty! I had to consentrate on the Prado/Colorado, which often is refered to as only "light duty" and "not a proper LandCruiser". Well, also the 90/120/150 and now the new 250 series are really more "heavy duty" and reliable than most off road cars from the other brands. The claim that they are not "proper LandCruisers" that deserve this famous name, is really rubbish. They were/are produced at the same factory plants (with much higher quality standards than the rest of Toyota cars) in Japan as their bigger brothers, share much of the same components and have much of the same built in quality and reliability. But of course not so overbuilt as the big brother, not so much weight, not so much power and torque, not so expensive - but mostly with a far better fuel mileage and a fresher design. The 90/120/150/250 are also big cars, but when you get used to them, they feel compact, well designed for everyday use and are no shame for the LandCruiser badge!
