The championship battle with McQueen,The King,and Hicks in Cars was amazing. In the end,Hicks won after crashing The King. McQueen choose to lose the title to Chick because he wanted The King to finish his last race. Jimmie Johnson would've won the 2004 championship if it weren't a mechanical failure at Talladega and a crash at Kansas. That would've been a emotional championship for HMS. McQueen lost another title to Jackson Storm in Cars 3.

Mickey Mouse champions 2004-Kurt Busch 2007-08-Jimmie Johnson 2010-Jimmie Johnson (Could've been Hamlin too) 2011-Tony Stewart (Yeah,it's a great championship for Stewart,but mediocrity doesn't award people a championship under the Latford system) 2014-Kevin Harvick (Could've Newman too) 2015-Kyle Busch (Worst champion in auto racing ever. That will never change.) 2016-Jimmie Johnson (Could've been Edwards too) 2018-Joey Logano 2020-Chase Elliott (Could've been Logano too) 2022-Joey Logano (Could've been Chartain too) 2023-Ryan Blaney (Could've been Larson too) Everyone races like Chick Hicks in NASCAR today,and there will never be a dynasty again. The Knockout Style format (2014-Today) is the worst format in auto racing. That will not change. Jeff Gordon got eliminated in 2014 because of one bad race at Texas. Harvick,Logano,Hamlin,and Newman all finished ahead of him that race. Eventually Gordon's two second places were the last of his career. Gordon was 4th after Texas and Newman was ahead of him. Gordon nearly won at Homestead but was told to come down pit road as they didn't want a non final four to win the championship. Gordon finished 10th. He and Kevin Harvick are most screwed out of a championship. Gordon only won one race in 2015,and he got 5 top fives. He never get his fifth championship,and he was in the Fox Sports booth. That didn't work. Gordon stepped down to run things at Hendrick Motorsports. Hendrick fell off from 2016 to 2020,only getting 16 wins during that time. For those that call people a Headrick Motorsports fan and a Joe Gibbs Racing hater. Headrick is better than JGR. I'm not a Headrick Motorsports fan,and I don't like Joe Gibbs Racing either. Gordon and Larson are good and I like Johnson,Byron,and Earnhardt Jr. Chase Elliott may leave Headrick Motorsports for a team like Penske or Roush. Larson may retire by age 39. Who would replace them. We'll never know. Bowman and Byron may leave HMS too. Sam Mayer or Erik Jones could replace someone like Bowman or something. Jeff Gordon,Kyle Larson,Piston Cup Productions,and Lightning McQueen are the GOATS. You can't change my mind.

I kinda liked most of the 2022 chase besides the finale. Three of the drivers in the finale had their interesting storyline. Chase Elliott had the best season of his career and in the playoffs he had numerous issues but still found the way to the finale, trying to prove some doubters wrong after being dominated by team mate Larson and having a bit of a "mickey mouse championship" the previous season. Ross Chastain's 2022 season would've been potentially a movie if he won the title, winning with a team in its second season, having never won a race before + his whole antics throughout the season including that hail melon at Martinsville and Christopher Bell was very much proving himself as a real title threat. At several points it looked like he wasn't gonna make it. For a long time he was close to not making the chase before turning up and winning new hampshire. He did the same thing twice in the playoffs at the Charlotte Roval and Martinsville. But then comes Joey Logano. The only uninteresting candidate in the final four who wins.

We should return to 2004-2013 Format in regards to The Playoff System
@seannolan98574 ай бұрын
There's three different formats represented there. Top ten in points seeded by points position, top twelve in points seeded by wins and top ten in points seeded by wins, plus two wildcard race winners from 11th-20th. While it sounds like a small difference, it can really effect the final outcome. 2020 best demonstrates this: Joey Logano wins under the 2004 system, Chase Elliott wins under the 2007 format and Kevin Harvick wins under the 2011 format.

Harvick wins 2020 under the 2011 format, but not under the two previous ones. Logano wins under 2004's system and Chase Elliott under 2007's. I believe that Hamlin wins 2022 under 2011's system, though he'd miss the Chase in the other two formats.

We should give each of the top 3 touring series one of these formats. Give Trucks the playoffs, give Xfinity the OG Chase and give Cup the Wildcard format, for example. Then see which series gets the best ratings and the format with the best ratings/ticket sales gets implemented across the entire spectrum!
