There really does need to be something good in the Android art space as far as software's concerned. Drawpile's Android version is okay, in some ways the best Android art app, but it's still not touch-centric enough, same with Krita. There's Infinite Painter and Designer, which are good. Big fan of Samsung tablets, myself. I have been using a Tab S9 Ultra for about 3 months now. I, personally, haven't seen any wearing down of my S-Pen with around 4-6 hours of daily use. I will say that the biggest downside I have found to using Samsung tablets is they don't directly sell replacement nibs so you have to find them from a third party reseller and a lot of them aren't good. If you get the Creator Edition pen, it comes with extra nibs but then it has a hard tip and doesn't feel as good to draw with without a matte protector. Edit: 2 months later, the tip has, in fact, worn out. I was unable to find a replacement that had the rubber tip. Ended up buying a titanium tip and paperlike protector.

Pro tip: you can buy a replacement pen for the Wacom One 13" series display tablets, they work really great on Galaxy Tabs and each box comes with 5 extra nibs. Me & a few pals actually prefer this to the Samsung options since it's nicer to hold and cheaper than the Creator pen.

I think i'm here to talk bout the harsh truths of s6 Lite (got the 2022 version but the issues still gotta stay i strongly believe)... Get something bit stronger.. S9FE, or non FE, just maybe not s6... I bought it because i wanted to try smth portable and as a student at the time (last year) i couldn't rly afford ipad or the S8 which was at the top of the line at the time, so i opted for s6 Lite and now i kinda regret it.. between the weaker CPU and just 4gigs of ram, it's wasted money if you want to work bigger and with more layers (though, the issue is not rly layers, but textured layers)... The tablet simply struggles loading and moving with canvases more than 2k x 2k with stuff on the layers... So if you need many layers with sketches, and refining, get something stronger... I loce the feel of samsung tablets with the pen even though it is on the smaller side and it works great, just the S6Lite is not as strong for more work than sketching and more simple illustrations or being forced to work on smaller scale or with less layers in CSP, krita or Infinite Painter

It's the one thing I think Apple got right with the iPad. Having a less "screen" like ratio makes it feel better whether you're holding it landscape or portrait style, both from a viewing perspective as well as an ergonomic perspective. So, the XP Pen one is very appealing to me, but the pen being off, even by a little, would probably drive me insane. Hello. I would like to ask what are your impressions of using the xp-pen tablet? (Sorry for any mistakes, English is not my native language)
@every1lovesdavid5 ай бұрын
@@samaelrace mixed feelings. It has great battery life, it's much lighter, has a nicer texture and more comfortable to use than my iPad pro. It also performs better in daylight conditions due to anti-glare finish. I managed to get a sturdy stick on kickstand that has made it a very portable and convenient drawing tool. On the negative side: the pen is misaligned with the cursor so everyone is a few pixels off. My favourite drawing app infinite painter does not have any way to correct this. Ibis paint does have a cursor offset feature which solves this but the interface and brushes are not as good. I spent a lot of time manually making my own brushes and even now cannot reproduce the exact brushes I liked in other apps. It is also very difficult to get accessories such as cases, as no 3rd party is supporting it. The performance is generally very good but it struggles to play hi-res video. 4k stutters or stops completely. It can just about manage 1440p the screens native resolution. Overall it is good value for money but probably not as good as a Samsung or iPad pro despite the superior pen.
@MaheerKibria10 ай бұрын
I feel like for $499 The XP-Pen makes the the S Tab9FE seem like a no-brainer. It's $449 and has a better processor meaning you can branch out. The alignment is very good from what I remember so you don't have that offset. A screen protector is easy enough to apply. Adding that and replacing the nibs with plastic nibs is still cheaper than a new XP pen. Add on top of it that you are guaranteed 4 years of OS and 5 years of Security updates and it seems like a no-brainer. If XP pen adds a calibration app or settings panel I can see it going either way but still tilted in Samsung's favor because of the OS update support. But right now you can fix the Samsung's drawing feel. You can't fix the XP-Pen.

xp is killing it they know what artists want
@litjellyfish10 ай бұрын
Samsung also knows but they aim their devices to a much broader target group. Adding some artists features like the matte screen with more grip with alienate many of the non artist buyers (that is a lot more than artists in number)

1 question.. i have a samsung galaxy tab A8 but i cant find a pen.. i use the app clip stuido paint and idk if i make a bad choice with the galaxy tab A8..

having studied and still doing some non professional artwork (cause i became a teacher and not an artist or designer) - i find the samsung tab s8/9 ultra "near" perfect for drawing .. but i would not seriously draw on them. Personally, i have the Wacom Cintiq, which is in a different league to either any android or apple tablet. Those are just toys in the end. However, since Samsung does use the wacom drawing pen, there is more familiarity for me .. but the real professional wacom drawing pen is much better than the little stick you get from Samsung (not to mention the even tinier stick in the phone)

Hi Brad! I am trying to figure out which android drawing tablet would be best for a left handed person. I have never used a tablet with a stylus before. I want to buy it for a friend and she is left handed. Please Help!!

One thing to mention is that when the S9FE goes on sale it can go down to about 350 so look out of that.

Were you able to run Clip Studio Paint on any of these? Would you recommend one more than the others for CSP?

I actually liked the XP PEN tablet but the problem where I live we don’t have an actual dealer for it incase of damage or any kind of repairs if or when needed. I was thinking about Samsung but I didn’t have a good experience with it, maybe its durability got improved over time. I am currently using my iPad Air 2 watching content, I am considering to practice digital art so until I get a decent tablet I will be using my xp pen drawing display
