Devon’s point about the weight is so important, 10 pounds for a person who trains their entire body might be the equivalent to 1 pound on a person who only armwrestles. The only “weight” that’s gonna matter is between fingertip to shoulder.
@neoexodeath
@neoexodeath 2 жыл бұрын
I don't know about that. Arm wrestling requires the entire body - legs, shoulders, back, etc. The more body mass someone has, the more force they can apply to their arm. It is why Levan was good before when he wasn't so big, but not unbeatable like he is now at 400+ lbs. All of that extra weight makes a huge difference.
@WilliamAstromAW
@WilliamAstromAW 2 жыл бұрын
@@neoexodeath Yes but Levan trains his whole body. And the mass on your legs is in no way gonna increase how much weight you can transfer trough your hand and arm
@neoexodeath
@neoexodeath 2 жыл бұрын
I think the point being is that 1 lb of weight gained on a person's arm is not the same as 10 lbs gained as overall body weight as you mentioned in your original post. Arm wrestling incorporates a lot of pulling and dragging. Someone with a lot body weight will be much more difficult to pulled or dragged by someone of lesser weight. Also, legs are used quite a bit in traditional arm wrestling - especially when pushing off of the table legs or even pushing in the ground to create drag. I think the only form of arm wrestling where legs and body weight is not so important is when it is done sitting down or laying on the ground.
@WilliamAstromAW
@WilliamAstromAW 2 жыл бұрын
@@neoexodeath My point is that since Devon ONLY trains his right arm, all of his weight gain is “worth” more than a person who trains their entire body, unless it’s just fat of course. And yes the legs are used but you can have the weakest legs and you’ll still be able to push more with them than your wrist can handle, same with stuff like the core, it’s used but it’s never going to be what the limiting factor is in you winning or losing. I don’t think anyone has ever left the table and thought “damn i gotta get my legs stronger”, now of course adding weight gives you stability, but it also comes with drawbacks in the ability to get really close to your hand

Devon's take on the many facets and kinds of strength, be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual was interesting. The more layers and sources of strength you can tap from , and coordinate them, the more you can focus and discover the operational steps necessary to make that ultimate vision a reality. The goal or problem contains it's own solution, 'how to' manual for realization or resolution. You just need to follow the yellow brick road.

I kinda wish I'd taken arm wrestling further. The only person who ever best me (apart from my dad before I hit 14) on either arm was my brother, on the right (my weaker side) - and he only beat me that one time. I'm a big guy and I obviously had some technique. I would pull anybody anywhere, but I never entered any competitions other that at college. I'm 57 now. Maybe there's a veteran's league, I'm gonna check it out. But I'll need some training, it's been quite a few years!

Levan is a damm Silverback. Also regarding his comments about killing Devon for calling him a 415lb pussy...lol....please Levan had it coming to an extent..he was kind of being stupid about the contract and Levans a jokster, facetious, likes to make people laugh, dark sense of humor don't take him too seriously. I hope you both have a good laugh together after and walk on the beach. I hate to see you two at odds. You both mean so much to arm wrestling. I mean we need it for hype but in the end let's hope there's nothing but love and mutual respect.❤️ Devons a scientific mastermind at the table of pure power. So experienced. He's got this. If you just look at the arm wrestling specific victories and titles, it's John.but if you look at the overall impact on armwrestling, argument can be made its devon. John brought armwrestlers to the sport, people got encouraged to take arm wrestling seriously, while devon was responsible for brining more casual fans to the sport. Who just want to watch the sport and enjoy.

The thing is that unless you specifically are looking for arm wrestling videos, it is highly unlikely that youtube will recommend a Devon video to you. Most of the people following the sport were already aware of the sport in one way or another. If people want to label someone as the best arm wrestler because of the amount of awareness that they bring to the sport, then I would say Larry Wheels would be that person. The guy has an incredible following before arm wrestling and introduced his audience to the sport.
