HEY ANDY YOU DID A GREAT JOB BUILDING MIXED UP BOSS AND THEN PUTTING IT IN YOUR 71 FORD TRUCK, I AM IMPRESSED MY FRIEND. I AM A FORD FINNANTIC AND I TOO DRAG RACED A FORD (torino gt) and i too built the 351c on a budget as well as i got about 475hp on the dyno of cource i had torque issues as well as some carb and intake issues but i proved (like you did) too alot of people i can build a nice drag car that was reliable and i wanted too drive it to/from my local drag strip hear in the san francisco bay area calif. Any way andy great job and hope you make more videos of the truck and that impressive mixed up boss engine. mark san francisco calif.

I'm not interested in LS engines. Keep up the awesome work guys. I will continue to follow your progress because its just that GOOD.

If you're going to replace the entire top end then it doesn't really matter which way you go. So many people go with LS engines simply because the stock top end flows so much better than the stock Ford SB top end.

I totally agree, when you see those valve covers, you automatically think it's a Boss 9! The heads are beautiful! Speaking of your shirt,i bought an issue of SS&DI every month for several years. Also Super Ford magazine were my two favorites! Congrats Andy,to make those et's from an NA engine in a 4200# truck is awesome!

Awesome video, Greg is a outstanding guy. His cylinder heads speak volumes over all others for sure. As for carburators and tuning? May I suggest John Satterfield of Dambest carburators. They are not cheap but, they will out perform anything you can buy plus his advice when needing him for tuning? Unquestionably the best.

Nice build, love the truck. And the heads look great. My Dad had a 69 Ford F-100 with a 360 in it. Bought it brand new when i was a kid. It was a great truck. A lot of good memories. Question though: Why did you go with dual carbs, instead of a single carb? Was it for the potential H.P. gains, the visual appeal of two carbs, or both? Thanks for the video!

I appreciate that you mention Higgins on the list. They have taken Clevland style heads to new highs, or so I believe. Full marks for sticking with the project. As for the Hammerheads, that used to be Oz slang for a heroin junk! No moral judgment on my behalf, just a sidebar. Cheers.
@danielwilson6665
@danielwilson6665 Жыл бұрын
The Higgins Cleveland heads definitely deserve some praise too. In single four barrel trim without any power adders, dyno results have exceeded 1000 horsepower using race fuel. On Aussie pump fuel, the same engine dynoed just below the 1000 horsepower mark. Put that in your LS pipe and smoke it 🤷‍♂️. As more Hammerheads reach the hands of competent Ford builders, expect to see power production numbers that will boggle the mind 🏁

What’s the CID of mixed up Boss? Looking at a more efficient correlation between CID to Intake runner volume/flow: The heads have way more flow than the CID and Power can use. This mismatch results in a loss in “Average HP/TQ” across the rpm range. An engine making say 750hp with a port flow of 350 cfm would be more ideal. Better velocity/efficiency/higher average. You might try raising the SCR & manipulating the DCR with cam timing, raising the power goal to 800hp, making better use of the cylinder heads.
@UnityMotorSportsGarage
@UnityMotorSportsGarage Жыл бұрын
It's 429" these heads have great velocity over 300 ft per sec.. to say that 750hp using a 350 cfm head while I can agree but there is A LOT more to that equation in terms of how efficient the port actually is! This engine made 1.39 lbft of Torque per cube on 93 Oct which is pretty healthy considering it was all off the shelf parts.. Thanks for watching Andy
@HeadFlowInc
@HeadFlowInc Жыл бұрын
@@UnityMotorSportsGarage Flow bench numbers are not an engine. I never said the heads themselves don’t flow great, I’m saying they DO NOT match the CID/Compression to have an optimized combo. Since you feel you’re above criticism; then good luck with finding the power you actually wanted. JD
