Since being diagnosed with Sleep Apnoea a couple of months back, this channel has become one of my favourite on KZbin. It is easily the best CPAP channel! After you mentioned in a recent video about lowering the max pressure, I lowered mine and I am consistently getting below 5 AHi every night. I was originally getting on average between 7-11 AHi every night, and for the last 7 days I've consistently managed to get below 5 AHi. Keep up the great work!

My wife and I have Philips. The clinic had just moved her pressure to 21 due to her high AHI number. The first night was horrible. The pressure hurt and the noise kept me awake. I saw your video Resmed vs Philips. I turned the flex off and set the high to 15. The next night her AHI is 1.9. Thank you so much!

I am barely beginning cpap and I have become very well informed thanks to you. One of the many hurdles that has come with this is having my sleep doctor call me and get frustrated with the fact I was doing my own research and had set the machine to 7-9. I am thankful that I discovered your videos a few weeks ago. My DME supplier did not educate me in any way on how to interpret my sleep data. My pulmonary guy didn't want to look at it (Do you feel better? Yes. That's all I care about!). I too had to lower my maximum pressure setting downward. It took me several weeks to learn what my data was telling me. My CPAP machine had to be replaced after a few months because of a burning smell and the bad taste it left in my mouth. It happened again after a few months to my number two machine, so I quit using it. Then came the Philips Respironics Dreamstation recall. Just over a year and a half later, I finally receiver my "used machine". Will be replacing the foam sound chamber with a non-foam part. I am not returning my recalled machine. I am currently using a data program called OSCAR. Really enjoyed this presentation and hope you can show us the results for the Dreamstation per Mr. Robot. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

@@CPAPReviews Nick, I am piggybacking on Jansen to ask you a question. I bought an Airsense 10 auto from Resmed UK in 2019. I bought it as a back up machine as I live in Thailand and Resmed prices are off the charts here. They cost about double the price in London or 2 and a half times the US price. The machine was manufactured in Singapore. SN 23191101026 batch code 1354294 device no 444. They do not have a manufactured date on it like the australian model I am using now has. My brother purchased it for me in Oz. The machine I purchased in London expired after 2933 hours of use. This is an expensive way to sleep. As I am on a UK pension that is the same as it was in 2016 when I became old enough to qualify for a pension at 65. If you live outside the UK, they will never raise your pension to take inflation or cost of living rises into account. I opened the machine up to check why the compressor does not work. I expected that it could be too much dust clogging the compressor. It was as clean as a whistle. What could have caused this compressor to malfunction. I thought I might see a burn out or something like that but I am not very technical. Would it be possible for me to claim warranty from ResMed. I use my machie every day so it lasted about a year and three months. That works out at 2 pounds 50 pence for every day without taking in the cost of any ancillaries.

The best thing I ever did with my CPAP, set the max pressure to 12 after a month of using it. I've also slowly moved up my starting pressure as I've got used to he therapy. Now I'm set for 9 to 12 and it's exactly what I need.

@@rasmusstubert7523 yes, dynamic mode, and besides I use a setting they call "softpap" wich takes into account your breathing, and reduce by 2 or 3 levels the pressure while exhaling. It takes a few minutes to synchronize with my own breathing. It makes it a lot more comfortable, if I wake up in the middle of the night I can literally forget I'm using a CPAP device. I use a ramp-up of 20 minutes also.

This is EXACTLY what happened to my wife. They shipped her '10 to her autoset from 4 to 20. It was blowing her mask off nightly! I went in and set it from 6 to 14. Immediately, she kept her mask on, the score went up, and her AHI went down to 2...3...4. I'm a 15 year user, now on an '11 and loving it!

I have a Löwenstein Prisma Smart at home and an Airmini for travelling. The Prisma is outstanding in almost everything. As I know its motor is running on constant rpm and the pressure is adjusted by valves. I read a study about how cpap machines can keep the configured pressures while the leak rate is high and the Prisma 20a was the best. The problem is the price of the filters(both fine and foam) for the machine, there aren't any 3rd party filters. No SleepHQ and Oscar support, however the factory program, the PrismaTS is very detailed. I have 5 minutes of ramp, but I never felt any pressure if I wasn't fall aspleep during that time. I really love this machine.

No, the motor speed ramps up and down. About 5000-35,000 rpm. There are no valves in it at all.

Fantastic. It totally validated my own experiences with these machines and yes, I use F&P Sleepstyle because its great. It does have that excess pressure thing going on so I cap the max pressure so my mask doesnt blow off or need to be excessively tight. As an ex ICU RN, I look at the data closely. To my unsurprise, people made a religion out of CPAP and go into stores or their doctors and became unwitting converts. They would not be shifted away from their GOD (Philips, Resmed) etc and the believers also carried the superiority complex of exceptionalism in CPAP. Now the truth is out and the religions destroyed. If only F&P could make a sleepstyle that could be serviced. That way Id only need a new motor not a whole new machine right after my warranty expired.

In addition to being happy with my ResMed Airsense 10, what I have been doing whilst going to sleep is to lie in bed listening to meditation apps for relaxation. Mostly getting my breathing calm and deep. I usually am asleep by the end of the session. More often than not, I will sleep my 7-8 hours straight.

I was automatic on my resmed 10 with constant red face on machine each morning showing mask leak...so I experimented by putting the machine on cpap mode and the pressure on 7....voila!!!....no more mask leaks....all ahi are under 3or even 2....and better sleep.....my therapist knew less about sleep apnea than anyone I have talked to.

Hey Nicko -- as you know, your buddy Jason regularly says the only reason to use APAP is to self-titrate one's optimal CPAP pressure. After 5 years of APAP I switched last year to fixed IPAP (11.2) and EPAP (7.8) pressures and my therapy is dramatically more effective and comfortable.

This was a really helpful video. Caused me to change from APAP on the dreamstation 2 with a 6 to 10 range and instead try a fixed pressure of 8.5 - slightly above the 90% pressure it had shown of 8.2, but still comfortable. Immediate improvement to an AHI of 0.0 ! Thank you.

Hey Nick, I have just gotten my first machine, the Airsense 10, and am having lots of CA events I never had in my sleep study. I wonder if leaving it in apap, but limiting the range say from 8.5 low to 12 high may mitigate the algorythm's tendency to go higher than it needs to? My machine has been set from 5 to 15, and I did notice some improvement in AHI with one night of reducing the width of the range. By the way, you are a Godsend to this community, and thank you so much for all your clear explanations and insights!

Hello my friend, that's the beautiful thing about CPAP therapy, once you learn the clinical settings you can very easily adjust them to suit your comfort and then monitor the therapeutic results (hopefully on SleepHQ.com ). EPR levels can also induce CSA and they have a big impact on treatment so it's worth experimenting with different levels and monitoring the results (comfort/control of course). Great video. I am running the Löwenstein Prisma Smart Max, very similar to the Prisma 20a. You are right, it is so quiet and wonderfull small size. I never trusted the APAP mode on this, therefore I have been playing a lot around on CPAP and APAP mode. I have used the PrismaTS software, for looking into my data and it helped me understand the APAP mode, which IMO looked pretty decent, and your video supported that. I always try and run for the most in CPAP mode, but now I am again back to APAP - min pressure 9 and max 14 (dynamic setting). As I look into my data last night, max pressure had only been 12, so it certainly does not rocket the pressure to the sky and I had a descent sleep. From AHI 66 to 1! Cheers 🤩. Finally i would say a BIG thanks to YOU. You are the reason I started to play around with all settings, understood the data and recieved a new life, as my doctor, here at the hospital, in Denmark, only focus on the AHI, and just sat speechless on yesterdays meeting, where I told him about my own experience and learning, after diagnose 3-4 months ago 🤩🤣🥂🙌. Normally they would never let patients run CPAP and play around, but he could see I understood about it, and let me continue. What a shame for patients, here in Denmark, as goverment pays for our CPAP equipment, and we therefore are under their responsability and treatment.

@@rasmusstubert7523 That's great, keep reviewing that data and learning! Enjoy the benefits of a top-notch auto algorithm and well-refined pressure range! Per your original q, the study used defaults of 4 to 20 and it would have been standard 'std' algorithm, because that's default out of the box for Löwenstein. That's because most beginners don't want to be hit for every little flow limitation from day one... Std is purposely designed to leave mild flow limitations alone once the pressure gets up a bit, specifically for comfort. Dynamic 'dyn' algorithm was developed to provide additional gentle responses to flow limitations even at mid to high pressure to be more proactive. If dyn had been used in the study, it would have absolutely nailed control with no noticeable compromise to comfort/pressure levels. That is if control is the main goal, it is great to have the 2 algorithms in one device.

I endured a Philips System One for too long into this past October. Got a BMC Luna, which turned out to be erratic garbage that was wildly inconsistent and my OSA started going further and further out of control. I have had 2 resmed, 2 F&P, and 1 Transcend over the last 16 years. Both F&P have provided me much better therapy, hands down. My only gripe is that as i travel a lot, the F&P is the least travel friendly due to size.

Quick summary: I've had 2 rounds of surgeries - Uvulo palato-plasty with tonsillectomy and laser tightening: failed. Then another palletoplasty with laser tongue tightening, also failed. Then another two rounds of laser snore treatments, also failed. Hospital sleep study diagnosis of severe OSA and at-home study diagnosis of same. Chronic insomnia and tried hired machines (AirSense 10) and failed both times. Tried nasal and full face. I've just bought a Sefam S.Box because after my insurance rebate I'll be out of pocket only 500 and that's with a f&p hybrid mask. Now I feel like I've made the wrong choice. All these numbers and settings are freaking me out and I haven't even received the machine yet. The Sefam seemed a good choice based on European reviews, cost, inclusions etc. But there's been no mention of settings or ongoing monitoring. I guess I'm asking if I've fkd up?

Hey mate, that's a really good question and i don't know the answer. I have been saying for a while now that ResMed & Philips don't innovate because they don't have to. Why spend money on R&D and improving your products when you have 90% market share and insurance pays for the equipment every 5 years? You're better off stripping out costs and increasing your margins. It might also have something to do with CE marks, device conformity or FDA approvals etc. I do know that it's very very rare that the companies change them. I honestly don't think Philips has changed it since they took over Respironics back in 2006

I started with an F&P Icon and I loved it. Then one day it simply died, so I got a second. They were a bit large of the night stand, but I slept well, which is what is important. Then that one died, but by then the Icon was discontinued so I got a F&P Sleepstyle. I loved the improvement that the Sleepstyle had compared to the Icon (much easier to clean the water chamber). It was also QUIET! I often had to remove my mask to make sure it was on. My only gripe with the Sleepstyle was no clock on the display. With a unit so large, there is less room for a clock on the nightstand. The Icon had one, but the Sleepstyle left it off. That was so annoying! You had to set the time, but you couldn't see it! Then after a few years my Sleepstyle died, right in the middle of the Philips recall. I couldn't get one! I had to "settle" for an Airsense 11. The Airsense is fine, but a few months after I got mine the Sleepstyle was back in stock. I always felt rested with the F&P. I will likely buy another F&P when the Airsense 11 dies, maybe even before.

Nick, your comments about efficiency are so true! While you focused on new users and compliance (important issues to be sure!), you should also consider that a machine operating at a higher pressure and airflow than needed is likely to wear out or break down sooner. The algorithm is making the machine work harder than it needs to, and that is using up useful cycles for no reason. It will also clog your filter sooner. So for comfort, compliance, and longevity, efficiency it important! BTW, I've been traveling some lately, so open my gifts if you want to see where I've been. I've saved you a few.

I like my ResMed AirSense 11. It works well and adjusts up or down on auto mode, based on my breathing. My Dr. Prescribed the max pressure for me at 14. Took me about 5 days to get used to it when I got it two weeks ago and now I LOVE my CPAP!

Bad mask seal, High AH indexes.Every full-face mask you can think of.(Air-Fit F-30 now) I really need a solution to this BlowHard. Whether it's adjustments in clinical mode, or a change-over to constant pressure, I'm sick of the clinician wanting to reset it to 12 & up to 20. I'd blow my brains out, but I think it's already blown my brains out.

Love the video as it provides great info on the actual therapy algorithm. I have used a CPAP machine for several years with no issues until recently switching to the AirSense 11 which I cannot tolerate as the pressure wakes me up multiple times. Now I know why. The only other machine I can get is the Luna G3. Do you have any data on how closely the Luna G3 therapy algorithm follows the blue line? Thanks for all the great videos.

All I know is I've been using my Airsense 11 for 1 year and it has worked beautifully. Not only is my sleep apnea and snoring GONE but my blood pressure has gone from high to normal and my acid reflux has virtually disappeared. So, interesting that some other machine is theoretically better but I for one will continue to vouch for my AS 11.

Wow! I didn't recognize you with your new hairstyle and fully clothed! LOL! I've tried the auto-pap with terrible results. I thought my neck was going to explode one night because it hit me so hard. And I did have a lot of sleep disturbances which is why I went back to CPAP and never looked back. It was a Resmed S9, now using an S10. I'm using your oxygen recording ring to see if I am getting sufficient oxygen during the night. I was very relieved to find that I am properly oxygen saturated all night long. Thanks, mate!

Great video. The algorithm is obviously optimized to reduce type 1 errors (misses) at the cost of type 2 errors (false alarms). This gives them top scores in minimizing apnea episodes. Unfortunately at the expense of comfort. This is an example of poor sociotechnical research around an analytic that involves people. Resmed needs to improve its research. But, I bet that federal grading and conformance testing procedures need to reflect more than apnea minimization. There are many cases where analytics are optimized to insufficient metrics with suboptimal outcomes.

I started with F&P Icon in 2014. Replaced in 2018 because it would not turn on. Upgraded to Sleepstyle. Now foolishly flooded the Sleepstyle while traveling because I did not empty water reservoir and it will not turn on. Currently have Resmed Airsense 10 hired and used for past two nights and impressed with how quite it is. Glad I've seen these reviews before changing to Resmed and will stay with F&P instead. Surprising how bad many of the machines were. My sleep specialist has always set my Resmed 10 to manual CPAP mode 9 PSI. I was fitted with nasal mask as full face mask only made my apnea much worse (22 psi and lower did nothing). Save for occasional Cheyne stokes respiration it seems to work OK.

hello Nick where can this study be found? do you have it in pdf format? your video is very useful to understand some treatment failures. it also demonstrates that the CPAP industry is identical to the mobile phone industry. if you have a good marketing department you are at the top of the bill, however I find it honest on the part of Resmed to have done this study which confirms what many people had observed in the field. I’m very new to CPAP- fresh meat. I’ve been watching your videos and learning a ton. So far I’m treating my apnea well but not getting any quality sleep. Hopefully it gets better. Also, insurance will only get me an Ibreeze 20 so I have no choice what machine I use. I don’t have $800 dollars to purchase a machine. I’m experiencing big surges with APAP. I hate it! Been on this thing for a month and haven’t slept for shit since being on it. My sleep doctor has prescribed 5-20 cm. I don’t think my machine is supported by Oscar or sleep HQ.

Hi Donald, I don't have a lot of experience with the iBreeze auto algorithm. As far as usability and build quality goes i think it's pretty good but until we can see how the pressure responds to sleep disordered breathing in either SleepHQ or OSCAR i think we'd be just guessing based on the AHI numbers etc. Don't worry about buying a new machine if you can't afford it and the truth is, you might not need to anyway as it might be pretty good. If it's not good, there's always things you can do to work around the flaws. Cheers brother

I have had my airsense 10 for 6 weeks. Getting used to it has been difficult. I think only a few times I was able to actually sleep with it. I have adjusted my pressures down. My AHI is only 1-2 so not sure if I really need the machine at all especially if I am unable to sleep

G'day Uncle Nick. Good show , when are the researchers going to test more machines, Idisc and Resmed Air for example? I assume the Air has the same algo as the air sense 10 ? I am going trekking in Nepal next month and have bought an Air and two batteries. It will be interesting to see how it will perform above 3000 meters, if at all. Do you have any tips on squeezing a bit more pressure out of the Air higher up? I have searched the net for info on using cpap at altitude but not found anything useful , I guess I will be the guinea pig. I am hoping that use of Diamox the altitude sickness medicine will help but will just have to suck it and see. You are doing great work mate , I have been on cpap for twenty years but learned more from your channels than any other. I am hoping to work out a way to upload my data from my Air 10 but Apple seem to be conspiring with Resmed to stop me from doing that. 🤕

Hey mate, it's tricky in high alts as a lot of people get central apnea and throwing CPAP into the mix can make it even worse. The machine will adjust the fan speed higher automatically to account for the lower gas density at the higher altitudes. I watched the video and it has confirmed my decision to not fly into Lukla on the Everest trek. The Airmini has info on the machine saying "operating altitude limitation : 2591 m". What kind of performance I will get at or above that altitude is the unknown and will most likely be the deciding factor in how high I get on the Everest base camp trek. I will have to see how much CA is induced by altitude and deal with it. I have given myself lots of time to acclimatise and will be walking in on the old 1950's track , not flying into Lukla so I will be acclimatising very gradually. I have enough time to rest every second day on the ascent if needed.I am an old fossil , on the upside of seventy so I will be taking it easy and not committed to getting all the way to the top , I will take it as it comes and turn around when it gets too hard, no heroics. Have you had any cpap users comment on the effect of THC on their apneas? A big fat one will pretty much completely cure my apneas over the short term. With longer use of the herb the efficacy falls away. My obstruction is the collapsing of my soft pallet. This problem started very abruptly when I was living in Hawaii in the eighties and surfing big waves on a daily basis. I think that the tremendous water pressure blasts up through my sinuses in big wave wipeouts may have caused the onset of apnea, just a theory but it did start at that time. The THC must effect my nervous system some how and stops the collapse of the pallete, how bizzare! Your vids have really helped and I have been able to reduce my high pressure down to fourteen from seventeen and it is continuing to drop slowly , last night the average pressure was only twelve!.... most likely as I am off the grog in preparation for my trip. My AHI at present is 2.6 and central is 0.8 Thanx for your efforts to help us all who suffer the dreaded. I will let you know how it all pans out. Firstly I have to survive the two week motorcycle tour of Nepal before hitting the track. Thanx again.🙂

Great video. Now I know why I couldn’t tolerate the Resmed Airsense 10 and settled well when I changed to the Fisher and Paykel SleepStyle. I only have cpap though. My husband has SleepStyle APAP but had difficulty with the pressure at the start of the night when on APAP so resorted to CPAP mode. The Prisma20A is not discontinued at all. That while series 20c/a, 25St, 30ST are the flagship devices. The PrismaSmart are the 'new' units with.built in modem, but the 20a has some extra features, even though it uses an external clip on modem.

My pressures are set to 9 - 12. 9 lower end, and 12 for max. But when I was first set up with my CPAP my pressures were 12 - 17. But I could not find a mask that would work for me. Finally after almost 20 years my pressures seem to be almost perfect, and I found a mask that works, plus I use my CPAP every night now. For a person who used to snore and raise the rafters and wake everyone in the house, to a quiet person that people have to really listen to make sure I am breathing.

Very helpful. I have been using BMC apap machines since 2015 which always seemed inadequate in apap mode. I'm currently using the Luna 2 and get great control using a 30 minute ramp and fixed pressure. This study confirms my personal experience.

Hi Hilary, thanks for sharing your experience. I know the BMC machines well. One thing to note with the BMC is their algorithm has 5 sensitivity levels. Sometimes you just need to increase sensitivity to get better results and achieve higher pressures for breathing normalisation. I think the algorithm is solid overall. Cheers

I took the Sleep Study available through Sleep Doctor, and they recommended ResMed Air Sense 11. You don't seem favorably impressed by the machine. No recommendations were made about settings. Is there someone who would look at the report and make recommendations?

I went for my sleep study around the middle of April, saw my sleep specialist at the end of April and he said that he was scripting my pressure range for the full range (4-20). Once I got delivery of my machine (airsense 10) near the beginning of May, the first thing I did was to go in the clinical settings and changed my pressure range to 4 to 7.8 and adjusted the response to soft. I average a high pressure of 7 every night and a AHI of about 2.5 every night.

A very narrow pressure range (12.4/13.0) works great for me. It took me a lot of trial and error to dial things in, but I find that it basically acts like a regular CPAP (not auto) with just enough variance in case I need it.

Great video. If I am not mistaken however on one of your videos you did say that the algorithm of the Resmed Airsense 11 was different to the Resmed Airsense 10. So I am a bit confused that you said both are the same here. And I am pretty sure that the Respironics System One algorithm is different from the Respironics Dreamstation algorithm. Clarification would be appreciated. Would also be great if this study could be updated and include more manufacturers and never models. I went to the P&K site for the US and they say the ones in the review are discontinued. I can get the Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle Auto CPAP now. I have looked at 12 sites and this is consistent here. Great video! However, I wander why not paying attention to the fact that the Lowenstein did fail to overcome flow limitation. It clearly says so in the conclusion at the bottom of the results, and the pressure seems below the blue kine mist if the time. Looks like a big bias in favor of this particular model.

ive been using the airsense 10 for a few years. High pressure has never really bothered me. Personally, I would rather the spikes from the resmed than some of the other machines that clearly aren't giving good therapy at all.

I'm actually on my second AirSense 10 (1st replaced due to age) with a F&P Eson 2 nasal mask and have found the combination to work quite well for me. I've never had a problem falling asleep (and my wife hates me for it 😆), but I found the automatic ramp felt like I wasn't getting enough air to relax and fall asleep. I turned off the ramp and have the unit set to reduce pressure on exhalation. I sleep soundly through the night and wake up refreshed. I can't sleep without the CPAP and my pulumonologist seems surprised that I use it without fail every night. I can't comprehend how folks with apnea can sleep without CPAP. Maybe I'm just an unusually easy case to treat? 🤔

I had a trial at the start of this year and found the Resmed Airsense Autoset 10 pretty full-on and got maximum three hours sleep length and only in my fourth week. Did an extra week with the F&P SleepStyle and slept right through on the first night (and thereafter) - it was less aggressive. I do want to give the Lowenstein Prisma a go as I read, via the miniscule amounts of information out there, it is quieter than all the others and your overview indicates its similar to the F&P in its algorythm.

Hi there and thanks for your generous channel donation. It's not expected but greatly appreciated. When it comes to Automatic pressure delivery the stand out performers are F&P and Lowenstein. The ResMed is will often deliver too much which can cause issues however this can be managed by controlling the pressure max setting. Although the F&P is a good device, they have barely made any improvements on it's functionality since 2010 so i have a difficult time recommending it. It is also not DC compatible. The Lowenstein build quality and performance is exceptional however it has a larger size/weight compared with the ResMed Unit and is very expensive especially here in Australia. Personally i use the AirSense11 because it's compatible with SleepHQ which is my CPAP therapy analytics platform. It's also great for travel and works well on DC power. All the best

Hi, uncle Nico. I have the Lowenstein prisma smart max with the prisma aqua humidifier. It is a great unit but the only problem that I have is the mask. Each mask that they give me is too small. I have it set at 30 min soft start. It is on CPAP mode. I am having after a 7 hr sleep an AHI of 1-2 /hr and Leakage of between 5-10 l/hr. I am very pleased with this prisma smart max as I have the white machine. My only issue is the mask.

F30i mask, bro have you done a review on this? I have trouble with the nasal only and the top mount hose. My nose has a constriction to one nostril and this poses an issue. I’m using resmed 10 atm -and lying on one side poses a fighting for air problem. Any suggestions before I head out and purchase. Unrelated I just started CPAP therapy and was prescribed a p10 nasal from my sleep study with chin strap. When I got my machine based on photo was given a full mask with foam on seal. I have facial hair (mustache/chin hair. This mask leaked like a submarine with the window open. I changed to the nasal pillow w changed to nasal pillow with chin strap. Much better performance as far as I can tell no leaks AT ALL, but resmed 11 app continually states leaks 10 or less below 20. What the HELL is going on???

In the sleep lab I had an AHI of 35 iirc... when I sense my resmed 10 to 9.4 i get about an AHI of 0-1 now... but when i set it to auto 9-11 it's up there at 11 almost all night with an avarege of 10.5... so I think i'll put it down to 9.4 again :)

@CPAP Reviews, Nicko, I'm really surprised that resmed funded this study and their own machine failed, just goes to show, even though they paid for it there was no bias which is a good thing. My question is, can I assume that even though none of these were the F&P Sleep Style, can I assume that it would be the same as the Icon. I'm 2 months late on a comment so I'm guessing my question will go unanswered

Dear Nick, for machines having a stepped line from 0 to 40 minutes, as lowenstein prisma 20a, you recommend to set a large ramp in that time. I tried a 45 minutes ramp from 4.5 to 5.5 in a smart max and pressured raised to 9 in that period....is a machine problem ?? Or the ramp can be surpassed if necessary ? I was relaxed but not sleeping.

Hey mate, i'm not super familiar with the SmartMax but it really shouldn't go above 5.5 in that 45 minutes because that's the whole point of a RAMP... to keep the pressure low and gradually build up over time. Some machines have what's called a smart ramp that will stay low until the cpap thinks your asleep but i don't think the SmartMax has that feature? All the best. Nicko

Have you done any videos on budget cpap machines with the best performance. I'm on a fairly tight budget and simply can't afford one of the high end ones. I desperately need one but cannot go beyond £300 tops to buy one..If you haven't done such a video, and have no plans too, what model would you recommend? I would quite like an automatic preferably, but don't mind a cpap if thats the best option on my budget. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

When was this test ? I remember reading one of these that was done a while back and thinking 'I bet that was the old firmware'when they spoke about the Löwenstein. And it would have been before the white devices existed.
