@@samuelbehrendt6291 It feel like a total adrenaline rush. I've caught stockers out of lakes up here 4lbs+ but stockers don't count. I'd need a 6lb+ stocker to even compete with an 18.5 wild creeker. Also this year out of the same spot I got a 16 and a 17 the 18.5 was the year before. It's a sweet little hole for sure. I call it magic.

Very steep Crick top to bottom with Huge boulders, big and small Deep holes, waterfalls to 15’ with giant deep boiling water below em. Undercut banks galore and plenty of logs crossing over the water. Never gets above 60* water temperature all summer. Tight lines guys

Liked your vid. I live on the west coast and fishing for brookies here is a bit different. There are no natives, but the current populations are all wild now as they ceased stocking this species decades ago. If you get them them from the half dozen mountain streams where they now reside, then a trophy size is 10 inches. However if you find them in the right streams in the high desert country, then you can catch them at 15+ inches. A few of the pothole lakes in the mountains will occasionally yield a specimen over 15 inches as well. You can not find brookies in my home state in streams below about 4000 feet in elevation- not sure why. And you only catch them in cold water streams. They won't leave the shadows into open sunlight either. If you don't hook them before the lure passes out of the shadow they won't strike. You can literally watch them stop right at the edge of the shadow zone.

I love the high altitude creeks. It looks like Noland Creek off that infamous “road to nowhere” 441in N.C. I like Noland Creek a lot. It has some brookies but mostly rainbows. It has a lot of pools and falls and can be a pain to get around. It also has a lot of really slick round rocks. I’ve taken a spill or two there. Brookies are gorgeous, but you have to check out the “speckled trout” if you haven’t seen it. They are rare now. As far as fighting goes, to me the rainbows are the hardest to get to the net and their athletics are amazing sometimes. They seem a lot quicker than the others, but that’s just my opinion. Browns don’t jump as much.

Brennan Kirby oh yeah. I’ve been up on Grand Mesa(about an hour away from Grand Junction) and it is just like that. There is tons of lakes filled with brooks, rainbows, and browns. It’s a blast fishing those lakes in about mid July. That’s when the mosquitos start really getting active, and the dry fly fishing on any lake up there is great. If you do a little hiking, it’s like you said completely untouched. You can get away from the tourists, and there is some cutthroat in the higher elevation lakes too. I would say it’s like a similar, less crowded Rocky Mountain national park. Have a good day man

@@hardmanfishing Yes indeed. On several particular stretches of water I haven't encountered another fisherman in over thirty-five years; other than one of my younger brothers. We used to race each other upstream screwing-up the good holes for the last one to get there. We stopped that by the time we were all in our twenties. As good a fisherman as I think _I_ am, one brother has a patience and technique where he could fish rings around the rest of us if he chose to. I've seen him in action too many times. Those little brooks are so fascinating to me where I fish in north central Pennsylvania. There are unnamed trickles and tributaries that I'll never have a chance to fish since I'm getting up in years. Happy fishing!

Do you ever go blue lining? Pick a stream in the mountains that passes under a bridge and try? My youngest brother and I would blue line all the time in North East Tennessee. Found some untouched/unknown Appalachia strain brooks that were always beautiful and on public land. We also would switch it up with 8 weights and giant articulated streamers in the tail waters for giant browns! My best was 34 inches !

Brian Smith that’s awesome man! And yeah we used to blue line more than we do now. When I had a lot more time I’d just pick random streams on a map and fish them. Now I fish streams I know or their tribs for the most part. But 34 inches is an absolute hog!! Did you catch it in Tennessee?

Yes sir, I lived close to the Watauga river and South Holston River wasn’t to far away. We learned that the nastier the weather the better bite from big browns. We also would follow the stocking trucks and throw rainbow patterned streamers for them. You could a lot of times just watch monster browns as they would shadow schools of stockers. The browns haven’t been stocked in either river for 20 years so natural reproduction. As a bonus to the browns and rainbows they did start stocking northern strain brooks a few years ago and some of them are gaining some good size.

Nice editing and great small stream fishing for a not so known fisherman! Subbed (: Please don't jump on the "tiniest lure ever!" or similar challenges/titles.

@@hardmanfishing Forgot to add the winking emoji. LOL. Fixed. BTW, half the fun is exploring and hunting to fing the fish. Just found a great creek in my area with nice brookies and bows. Took me 3 weeks and many bumps and bruises to find the fish. Fishing is hard work, but the rewards are infinite. Catching a beautiful brookie is like scoring the winning touchdown. Godspeed brother.
