Giant brown trout have become one of our favorite fish to chase over the years. Their predatory nature and ability to adapt to odd situations have impressed us time and time again. But this story outdoes the others. To get 2 chances at a brown trout of this caliber in one day is unbelievable. I hope you guys enjoy the story of TANK.

Do you ever keep a big trout for eating. It’s just a myth that big trout don’t taste as good. I release all trout under 12” and usually keep the rest to eat. Just like deer hunters.....I don’t fish for the hunt....I fish to eat. I was raised that smaller trout are to be released....but the big ones are keepers.....and I eat everyone......the same reason deer hunters don’t hunt with tranquilizer darts....they hunt to eat. But if you don’t like to eat fish I get it.

Thanks for another excellent and entertaining video; Tank is the perfect name for that Brown! The trash is a sorry commentary on the inequality of our economy. We see similar things in hardscrabble areas of the Northeast. The truly poor struggle too hard to live, to participate in "spring clean ups". A lot of that trash looks like it arrives from upstream during high water, as well. Not making excuses- it's truly awful to see- but trying to understand cause and effect! Serious economic change is needed STAT!

Amazing content yet again, and congrats on that beast of a trout! Also interesting technique to fish those streamers in a jigging method, are those streamers weighted heavy or do you use sinking line? You should do a streamer tying video sometime!
@hardmanfishing
@hardmanfishing 4 жыл бұрын
It is a weird technique used mainly because of the size of the creek. If we bow cast or roll cast the fish tend to spook, so we found it easier to lay the streamer on the water. The flies are weighted but not as much as you might think. Thanks for watching! And we might do some tying videos in the future.

I seen the mention of the trash in the water there. It breaks my heart too. I am from West Virginia originally and some of those very narrow creeks flood constantly and can get high quickly. They get up around the garages and back yards and take a lot of debris. Of course some hill billies will stay right in the same area knowing they may get the floods more than once. Nothing wrong with building higher up but the mountains can be steep on both sides and most building is done in the hollers. Don’t get offended about hillbilly. I am one. I graduated from the big hi school of Harmon high school in Randolph county. I lived on a road With three houses on it and the road was 4 miles long. I miss the old hills

Great day. As you probably know, Big trout (over 14 inches) are carnivorous and have to be to maintain their size, especially in such a creek. This is a great little video.

I have a tank at my stream pretty sure I’ve caught her but I’ve had this one fish break me off 3 times on 5.5lb tippet (I use such light tippet cause the fish are super skiddish)

We always have conversations with our fish before we release them. We have a list of questions we ask them so that we can better ourselves as fisherman. I think any good fisherman does the same.

What a beautiful fish. Congrats!!! Might I ask what state are you fishing in? It reminds me of where I fish for trout in Central PA.
