What an extraordinary stream, and what amazing native brook trout! As a quite senior brook trout angler, the likelihood of my finding and accessing such a remote fishery drops significantly with each passing year. There is just something magical and fairytale-like about fishing in a stream like this for those fish. I remember as a kid fishing in some tiny hidden woodland stream with brook trout darting out from under logs in crystal clear water, and I have been dreaming about and trying to re-create that experience ever since.

How could you not enjoy this video? It was fantastic. Not only was it nice to see the colorful brookies, but it's nice to see we still have remote places like this to fish. Personally l wouldn't tell a soul about this special place. The way you found this place is the way I like to go... alone. I've done many remote hikes like the one you did. But not so much anymore, now it would probably kill me. Lol. Not as young as I used to be, but I still do pretty good. Excellent excellent video looking forward to watching more. Until next time. Native brookies are so much fun so many ppl don’t realize how rare a real trophy one actually is luckily in Wisconsin where I’m at I have several great spots with awesome native brookies some spots have a 12” average but not many I almost enjoy the 3-7” ones just as much they can be even harder to catch
@jamesf73103 жыл бұрын
So true but there can be massive natives, in Ontario I know some areas with 5lb+ fish chances. Super rare but they’re possible.
@hardmanfishing3 жыл бұрын
@@jamesf7310 Natives in Ontario ARE NOT the same as natives in the Appalachians and elseware. They are a completely different strain of fish and would be considered invasive in the Appalachians. You can not compare the two

@@hardmanfishing Can you explain this a little more? Why would native brookies in Ontario not be the same as natives in Appalachia??
@garretthilliard53483 жыл бұрын
@@1114flibby so there are two major strains of native Appalachian brook trout. There is a northern strain and a southern strain. The northern stain can get way larger especially in areas like Maine and Ontario. It is very similar how there are many strains of cutthroat trout in the Rockies.
