I'm really impressed by the sheer amount of effort you put into your videos Josh! Absolutely love your content! Also, I have used the vivobook 15 and despite the panel being a TN panel I found it to be plenty bright and pleasing to look at. In my country, vivobooks are the budget laptop of choice. Great specs, they look really premium and they don't break the bank. Just thought of mentioning :) keep up the great work🔥

i was thinking of gettin an asus viviobook with a ryzen 5 4500u m=processor model. was stuck between that and a lenovo ryzen model but i think i am getting more features with the asus model over the more expensive lenovo. the main problem i have seen ppl scomplain about is the display, i hope its not that bad

@@craig6177 In India both have a soldered 8gb ram. Please check if you can get a 16gb variant. Initially, 2gb might be allotted to the GPU which can be changed to 512mb but if you plan to do light gaming you ssly need to think about the ram.

i live in the philippines and my parents make 3000$ a month, its kinda small wage, that's why its better for me to buy 600$ laptop + taxes for less than 800$. same, its kinda premium for me aswell :(( but the average person makes 300$ a month here so i'm not considered poor here.

I was able to find the new HP Envy x360 15.6" with an i7-1065G7, 12GB RAM, 512GB SSD + 32GB Optane for $800. After using it for a while, I can say that it is fantastic. The screen is sharp and vibrant, the build is sleek and premium-feeling, and the specs speak for themselves. There is also a variety of useful ports and features, with a full size HDMI, Thunderbolt 3 , and 2 USB 3.1 ports. FActoring in the fingerprint sensor, great speaker, and SD card slot made this an incredible value buy.

It's not that dim. I have it. You can work with it outside in shades and in brightly lit areas, just not against direct sunlight. It covers 99% sRGB/72% NTSC. The only issue I have with the display is that its brightness at minimum is not that low.

I would add the ThinkPad L13 to the list. It starts at $500 with horrendous specs but when you customize it and add 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, backlit keyboard, fingerprint scanner, an i5 processor, and FHD screen, it ends up being only $740, and we’re talking about unparalleled ThinkPad durability and reliability

yeah his laptop can handle that amount of ram ;) in all seriousness, actually not even that high. I opened way more tabs and windows than him and it was under 16 GB. And chrome will adjust ram usage according to your available ram. If you have more available, chrome will try to put that ram to work.

I know the Acer had good specs but I’ve always heard Acers are the most poorly built laptops with the worst reliability and durability. Has this been fixed in the last year or two?

Maybe it depends on the model? I bought an Acer Predator over 4 years ago and it's still going strong. I recently bought an Acer Swift 3 because I needed a lightweight ultrabook to bring with me to class and so far it's been performing well. Hopefully it lasts as long as my Predator has!

This video really hit the nail for me, I’ve been looking for a laptop in this exact price range, my top options were the Lenovo S340 i7 from Walmart but it sold out quickly, or the Asus vivobook from Best Buy but reviews complained about the keyboard not being visible on transparent silver, and now seeing this analysis I’m really into the Lenovo C740, I would love a review of that one. If it were for me I would buy the gorgeous Hp Spectre on Poseidon blue, but it’s way over my budget sadly :(

I have the Zenbook 14 UM433DA with R7 3700u and16GB RAM. The brightness of the BOE NV140FHM-N63 panel is 300nits. It somehow seemed dim to me as well on first glance, but I took it out and worked in a coffee shop by cranking the brightness to full - no problem. The matte anti-reflective screen was the savior. Just don't expect it to hold up in direct sunlight. The screen, apart from the brightness is actually a high quality IPS panel with 72% NTSC rating. The lowest brightness is not that low.
