It's nice to see the budget market not being completely neglected, but is this not just the exact same monitor as the original 24G2 but with a +21 Hz overclock applied? What panel is the original 24G2 shipping with these days? Because that's been $160 lately, so if they're shipping the Panda panel again, then I don't think I could recommend people spend $20 on a slightly higher refresh rate that doesn't feel any higher due to high response times. But if all the Panda panels are going in this model and the 24G2 will now be BOE only, then getting this one could still be a good idea. Panel lotteries really need to stop.
@GewelReal2 жыл бұрын
BOE was a temporary fix for lack of original Panda panels. AOC said they are discontinuing the models with BOE panel

@DeeSnow972 жыл бұрын
I for one really like that at least they're fixing their earlier fuckup with the panels. Bought two 24G2s just before the 2020 version was released, then one of them broke on me later, and I couldn't be sure that AOC was going to send an old one as a replacement, or a new one. Ended up buying a third monitor so I'd definitely have at least two matching ones, and gave my sister the third, so it worked out in the end, but would have preferred to not have to do that. At least with the 24G2SP you can replace a broken 24G2 2019 without this hassle (although they probably won't send you that one as a warranty replacement)

I'm pretty sure the BOE panels were a temporary thing because they had a supply chain issue, and they switched back to the Panda panels once it was resolved. AOC made a statement about it somewhere. So you're actually unlikely to find new ones with the BOE panel.

TURN ON GSYNC!!!! I was about to return my monitor back in because the image just looked so wonky and ugly compared to my older 24G2 until I looked at my nvidia settings. My problem was that the text had harsh chromatic aberration and aliasing. Corners of the monitors were horribly affected. To fix the image, right click on your desktop screen, select NVIDIA Control Panel, go to display > Set up G-SYNC. It will restart the monitor and you'll have to reconfigure your audio settings. I can now see a visible difference between 165hz and 144hz now -- and my monitor doesn't look like doo doo anymore. It was a complete fix! Sometimes after booting up the image goes wonky, but I turn the monitor on and off by pressing the power button and the image returns to perfect.

Compared it side by side and the brightness, contrast and colors are a lot better. This one looks closer to what I can see on my phone. Reds are red here while it is orange in my brother's, great buy. Only issue I have is it's unusable in pitch dark rooms since it's still super bright at the lowest setting. As I know if the monitor is only support AMD FreeSync and I am using a Nvidia graphic card, it could also turn on the G-Sync Compatible setting from the Nvidia Control Panel for running the VRR (Variable Refresh Rate). However, the AOC 24G2SP is only support *G-Sync Compatible* but not any AMD FreeSync/Premium or above. Hence, I would like to know how can I use the VRR if I am using an AMD graphic card?👀

Recently bought this one... and got a faulty unit with broken 1/4 of the backlight. That gave me rather horrible first impression of AOC quality control... so I ended up getting a Gigabyte G24F instead which a lot of reviewers in Poland claim to be very comparable to AOC(a little worse colors than AOC, but not by much), but with better build quality and slightly better GTG response times.

is the gtg response time difference noticable? i cant choose between these 2 monitors,i play valorant and cs but i will mostly play AAA games.(since im upgrading from a 13 yo 60hz tn panel i wanna experience ips and enjoy good colors but im afraid the response times difference is a deal breaker)

@@zakkthewzrd As I wrote previously Gigabyte actually has slightly better gtg response time(At least at proper Overdrive setting, most people recommend one called "Smart OD" which I also set, and it looks really good to me, while others say setting called "Picture Quality" is better.), but a little bit worse color coverage than AOC. I was unable to test AOC gtg responses, since the one I got arrived with quarter of the backlight dead and I just returned it. There's also some people saying Gigabyte sometimes has horrible IPS glow in upper corners of the screen... but in case of mine it's just a little bit in left corner, and it's only visible when entire screen is displaying black. Here's a review discussing the Gigabyte one in more detail: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXaYqpJujN2Sqas
