I consider 180Hz a huge improvement over 165Hz, simply because when divided by 60 it produces integer result (3). This is important, because most video content (YT videos for example) is in 60 or 30Hz. On 165Hz or 144Hz monitors, if you don't specifically switch to 120 or 60Hz, you'll get uneven framepacing on videos and movies (resulting in some amount of jerkiness, which some people don't usually notice probably, but sadly I'm the one that does and hates it wholehearedly). With a 180Hz monitor you can forever forget about the annoyance of having to switch between refresh rates depending on what you're doing. Of course, 240Hz would be even better, because when divided by 24 it produces integer result - and most movies are in 24Hz. So you still have to switch to 120Hz to watch movies.

AOC have been killing it in the monitor space for budget monitors. I had a 24G2 back when I didn't have enough money to get anything higher end, its sadly now dead but it got a ton of use and I recommended it to my friends who were all on budgets as well. Gave my brother a 165hz IPS AOC one as well ( can't remember the name exactly but it was great ) for like £180, and recently got my brother the AOC q27g3xmn for good budget HDR and I have been impressed with how good it is despite the low Zone count. This monitor is for sure the fastest 1080 IPS i had without having really low contrast and poor black at exchange. I tested AOC 24G2SPU,Iiyama 2470HSU and Gigabyte G24F 2 with this one. The thing is i have a irritating problem. Both AOC seems like having more trait into purple and pinkish colors, when deep blue is automtically more purple instead of blue. Like this 24G4X have a little problem with view angles, but it's not really a problem tho. The biggest problem in 24G4X white is more pinkish, when colors like deep blue is more purple. Sky or galaxy looks more purple than deep blue for example. It's really weird that they don't mention those details becuase no matter how u set it up. I tried settings like 42,50,48 and even changed gamma from 2.4 to 2.2 because imo 2.2 on this monitor looks too bright and 2.4 feels more "proper" for me at least. For sure it helped, but it's still noticable. The pure 50,50,50 looks terribly redish. AOC overall having that purple and pinkish trait, but comapring both AOC 24G4X and G2SPU, on 24G4X the pinkish/redish trait looks a lot more noticable and it feels like it a bit bleeding with it. That pinkish/redish trait is on especially gray and blue things, but not only. AOC 24G2SPU has noticibly better colors and doesn't have that weird pink trait on gray or other type of colors. It's just on 24G2SPU the whole panel seems like having more into purple colors than deep blue. I really don't understand what AOC did there or why this panel is like that. I wish it looked like G2SPU or close to it with response time of 24G4. Bro this is the hell of budget monitors. There is always something that will make you uncomfortable with it and u need to accept that issue. I would love to see them buying 24G4X one and test it again. Maybe 24G4 has different panel or adjusted differently in sneaky way?

If this monitor has low framerate compensation (LFR), then you could try moving the bottom part of the VSync range using CRU from 48 Hz or whatever is the default to 89 or 90. So, if you have a game that you play below or around 90 FPS, you can leave the Overdrive mode at Medium, since panel will be running at over 120 Hz when your FPS is at 60. Make sure you monitor doesn't flicker when transitioning from above or below 90. If so, then you could limit the in-game FPS at ~88 to prevent monitor from switching to 90 Hz instead of staying 170+.

Some shops even give you option to get a guy who will calibarate it properly for you for extra 50$ or something. When u buy monitor like that then it's not that much. 1080p struggle of not having better manufactured options. Thank your for this guide. I am looking for an 1440p (WQHD), 27 " monitor with g sync and maybe 165 hz. Playing mostly games like Rainbow Six Siege, Hogwarts Legacy and so. There are several options like Dell g2724D, LG ultra gear 27GP850-B, asus tuf gaming VG27aq1a and aoc 27g4x. Any suggestions? There a lot of guides out there. So its not easy :D Thank you.

I am able to spend around 250 to 350 euros (Germany). Is there a big difference between LG 27GP850-B and the asus tuf gaming vg27aq1a in the panel? Like contrast, colour, less ghosting. I think the lg27gp850-b has less contrast?

Maybe you should try to get a affiliate link for B and H, the ONLY US retailer who has had this product since launch (i think), my cat damaged one of my C24G1 displays this week... and i like matching displays, i swapped my panels around to make it the secondary one, it only damaged a small area in the corner, but as of today i lost one horizontal row and 2 vertical columns (and it looks like i am about to loose 2 more columns) i rather replace a monitor than go to the vet...

Guys I have this monitor now for 1 month, after 13 years I finally changed my 60hz one with this one. I was playing with 240hz monitor in internet cafe and this monitor can easily compete with it with 180hz medium/strong mode. 11/10 for this monitor and price rank!

I've ordered the 24G2SPAE and my eyes hurted a lot of the very high brightness (tested all possible parameters). Only solution was to have a very bright room. Could this monitor be the same ?

Hey Monitors Unboxed i have question about lowest nits settings. On your review its 44 nits, but on the other from channel TotallyDubbed HD its 93 on SDR and minimal with MDR is 78. Is there error on review or what? I know that AOC 24G4 and 24G4X is little bit different(speakers, lacks any red accents, reworked OSD and some features) but 44 nits vs 78/93 is really HUGE difference. They are the same panels tho or AOC again fucked up something and put different panels to same monitor?

In a way, doesn't every stand included with every monitor support pivot? Even if it' just moving the whole stand on the desk? Do they really need to include a pivot axis if it's not attached to the desk? Surely they could save a buck or two off the costs with that....

Please review the new Viewsonic VX2428J. It really looks interesting. The biggest minus is not having wide gamut tho, but i wonder h ow it is.

Deciding rn between 24G4X and VG248Q1B(TN Monitor). Already bought LG 24GN65R and 24G2SP, but returned them both back to shop due to very noticible GLOW. So, considering this, which monitor should I buy?
@Berkelll7 ай бұрын
Depends what u prefer when it comes to gaming, TN will be for sure faster in games like CS,Valorant and etc when G4 is pretty fast for it's class of IPS panels compared to other models or older brothers of this series, but it will have better image quality for sure than TN.

still I dint understand if input lag is great or ok Input lag is great with 0.8ms of processing delay and due to a higher refresh rate there's also a bit less refresh lag than 144Hz monitors.
