9:34 Ironically enough Sid was actually the one to raise Black Star. So seeing Sid act like his parent sometimes is so cute. It’s just a dynamic that isn’t brought up very often and I wish it was! Also I don’t know if it was clear earlier in the anime but Stein didn’t kill Sid. Sid was killed by someone else and Death asked Stein to bring Sid back as a zombie. So Sid wasn’t just killed for some students extra curricular activities no matter how funny that would be 😂

The Kishin (demon) thing is explained in this way. If a person consumes human souls (blue orb flames) their soul becomes corrupted turning into Kishin eggs (Red flame orbs) in order for them to become full Kishins they need to consume 99 human souls and one witch’s soul like how the Death Weapons need to consume 99 Kishin souls and one witch’s soul in order to become a Death Scythe and be wielded by Lord Death as regular weapons can’t handle his soul wavelength.

Favorite part was when Danny was denouncing Maka's dad for saying "all men have my back on this." Excalibur is truly something special, in an anime brimming with uniqueness. I think it was the next 2 episodes that really hooked me onto this show for the long haul. Can't wait!

The power system doesn't actually get explained until later on. When they finally tell you how the power system works, it'll start to make a lot more sense. There's a reason they're called "meisters" and their power system is "soul wavelength".

Not that the Madness, Avatar, Soul Attribute, or Sorcery systems ever really gets explained, at least in Soul Eater. So many unresolved hooks ands details. Seriously, there's so much I love about Soul Eater, but I can't understand how anyone is satisfied with the ending: it's basically, "ok, we'll pause this and deal with it later", then ends on a boob "joke".

Basically there's Kisshin, which is the "Fuck you, everyone dies" monster. Then there's a Kisshin Egg, who is trying to BECOME a "Fuck you, everyone dies" tier monster, but are currently only at "I'll be there someday". Students can handle the Eggs, but if the Egg hatches, everyone's fucked and Death himself needs to step in.

I was today years old when I realized that the reason for Soul making like a gut-buster from Aliens is because of what he saw with Crona and Ragnarok. I've been a Soul Eater fan for 12 years and I only just got that Edit: I was also today years old when I found out Sid was killed by one of Medusa's sisters, another witch. He was just revived by Stein. I guess I never was curious about it before.

Excalibur is absolutely the best character don't let anyone tell you otherwise he's so fucking weird and goofy and funny. Also idk if anyone has told you yet but there's a point in the series when the anime diverges from the manga and becomes entirely its own thing so if you enjoy the anime up till the end definitely read the manga to see how it diverged but both are extremely good in their own rights

It doesn't come up in the anime, but Excalibur represents the Madness of Rage (he is troll personified), just like Kidd represents the Madness of Order, Eibon is the Madness of Knowledge, the last kieshin is the Madness of Fear, and Crona (I shit you not) is the Madness of Boobs (mommy issues). None of these concepts come up in the anime as the last arc was never animated.

@@phantomDisaster Close. Crona's obsession with earning Medusa's love causes them to absorb Black Clown and then go to the moon to absorb Asura. Their madness (which causes people to become obsessed with "mother" attributes a.k.a. boobs) mixes with Asura's Madness of Fear and becomes so great that Crona decides to cocoon the moon in black blood to seal all of it away

18:38 when it comes to matters like Crona with ragnarok and masamune they reflect twisted interpretations of the weapon meister relationship. The former is through abuse while the latter is through domination. Also for Crona’s case it’s Medusa’s meddling with the intention of moving the world forward, she has no problems breaking rules and normal conventions set by death to make this happen. As for stein he follows the same weapon meister relationship convents as the protagonists. The difference is that his personal power output is so strong that he can already do so much damage on his own and only gets stronger with a weapon in hand amplifying is already impressive power. If I had to make a comparison of some kind I would compare stein to yoruichi from bleach. An ex shinigami squad captain who never once used her zanpaktou but is still as strong as a captain due to her martial arts skills and home taught techniques.
