I liked him since the beginning, and it took me some time to understand why others didnt. I think its because im super shy and diminutive, just like Tsubaki, that characters like Black Star and Naruto have always been really inspiring and cool to me. Seeing characters that aren't scared to speak their mind and act on their convictions with full confidence is just great to watch.

Blackstar is a perfect example of the fine line between confidence and cockiness. At the start we immediately see that his overconfidence can easily turn into cockiness, causing him to mess up and screw himself over. But as he matures he struggles with maintaining that balance, making for some great internal conflict that coincides with the external conflicts of the story, and a damn good character arc

Black Star is like that one little brother or cousin you have that’s just way too damn energetic and cocky. He gets on your nerves but he’s juuuust endearing enough that you can’t help but smile when he reaches a milestone or is just chilling with you. Him having Tsubaki around helps him stay grounded and make him a bigger star Also the comedy bit was too perfect 😂 can’t wait for Danny to fully react to the himbo wolfman.

At the palace she solves mysterious that occur and helps people with her medical knowledge. All of the main characters kind of have a metaphor - DtK’s OCD, BlackStar’s overconfidence, Tsubaki’s lack of “fragrance” (impact on others/autonomy). Soul absolutely looks like he does in the music room for a reason. It was just never really brought up in the anime from some weird reason 😅. If you want something that will add to his character but won’t spoil anything in the actual plot you should look up his family. Unless things have been retconned since Fire Force came out his backstory is one of my favorites along with BlackStar’s and Kid’s. Most of the main character cast have backstories that only get mentioned like once in the anime and never really get brought again, but are shown more in the manga. Which was an interesting decision by the animators but I guess it was just deemed less important to the plot especially since they have such a large cast of main characters. Just don’t look up Kid’s… or Maka’s for that matter if you don’t want spoilers.

More dark jokes. The public demands it and by that, I mean me. I like dark jokes if they're good. Also, "Death City" may be a stand in for Death Valley which is, in fact, Nevada. I have end-stage kidney and I'm paralyzed from the waist down and I make fun of and love when people make fun of that. One of my favorite bits I ever did was my buddy excitedly asking me first asking me if I wanted to walk around, pausing and then asking if I wanted to go running before landing on an awkward " go lie on the grass?' It was a stupid bit but damn if it wasn't funny every time.

Fun fact: their is a difference between the anime and manga when it comes to the climax of tsubaki’s confrontation with masamune. Long story short in the manga instead of throwing tsubaki back away from him tsubaki stabs masamune in the back while being stabbed so it’s a matter of who would outlast the other. I assumed that the anime made the change that it did so the end of the fight would appear more exciting with things in motion compared to the standstill finale of the manga.

My first episode prediction of Danny loving Black Star after a while has finally come true. Trust me Danny, he keeps getting better, especially after the enchanted sword episodes. Also Black Star couldn't move Tsubaki because they're fighting with their souls, Tsubaki and Black Star's souls resonate, meaning he would be possessed too. Hence why he sat and waited while enduring the villagers beating the fuck out of him.
