Whew, it's been a long ride. Thanks to Carl for playing and to everyone here for watching! We couldn't have built this without the continued support of everyone in the troll community, whether it be casual viewers or seasoned creators. The Finale level was the single most challenging level we've ever made. We had to create something that celebrated all 5 troll design eras, included a send-off for Brian the mole, and also weaved into the existing story narrative we had. The boss fight segment ended up taking around 80% of the space in the overworld, meaning all of the trolls prior (excluding Garbo land) had to be crammed into the subworld. This meant that we had to be space and entity efficient to the extreme! If we had more time, one of the things we most wanted to improve was the stun-locking troll in the boss fight at 30:30. The whole boss fight is supposed to be themed around Brian the mole using the skills he's learned throughout Wagon World to troll the player. If you look to the right side of the screen before the troll, we had it set up so that Brian would charge up and then do a ground pound, stunning the player. Of course, the stun is actually coming from an off-screen sledge bro, but the intention was that players would interpret it as Brian directly pounding them. Unfortunately, players have tunnel vision, so very few people actually noticed. Marble spent 3 months on that setup and was kind of disappointed that it didn't pay off. The Banned Wagon Team is committed to being open-source with all of the trolls and tech that we've used throughout this project. We're going to be doing a number of Q&A streams from this YT channel, (probably) starting next weekend. We've also recorded and are in the process of editing a step by step tutorial for all of the broken track and teleportation tech we discovered over the last 3 years of development. The "Meta Land" segment of the finale lived up to its name in spades, holy crap. First breaking in to the hub room, and then also intersecting the Garbo Land section only to loop back to the hub room to get the coin you could see from the start, topped off with a twice-twice section. Absolutely incredible.

As someone who doesn't play and has no intention of playing Mario Maker, but gets massive enjoyment from watching Carl, I would like to thank the Banned Wagon for what are now hours of enjoyment. I love your work, seeing Carl struggle and even occasionally outsmart your trolls, never fails to brighten my day. I'm not gonna lie I teared up a bit during the end. Seeing Goop, Gorp and Brian for the final time (for now) is sad. But I know that if I, someone who doesn't even own a Nintendo console got this much enjoyment from this, I can't even imagine the joy from someone who's actually in the community. Hey Carl, you mentioned La-Mulana in the video. I don't say this lightly when I tell you that this game is so incredibly up your alley. The original game was pretty simple graphically because it was designed to look like an MSX game, but La-Mulana Remake released in 2015 that makes the game look incredibly gorgeous, and if you want some of the most amazing puzzles, awesome platforming challenges, and incredible boss battles, La-Mulana is a game laser targeted for you specifically. I'm selfish and I really just want to watch you play my absolute, hands-down favorite game of all time, but I think you would genuinely love it as well. It is a game that has stuck with me for years.

Kinda wished the last level was impossible if not for a knowledge checkpoint. But there would be a hidden level name accessible through troll magic after a keydeath. Carl went and played the hidden level, full of waggon world references and meta as you can expect but at the end of the the level, after getting the knowledge check points and coming back to waggon world, the check point would be lying and lead Carl to an anti with a msg "right level, wrong game". Turns out they made another level in SMM1 with the same name and Carl would have to go back to that game and play one final level if he really wanted to know the secret on how to beat waggon world. Can you imagine, different physics, SMM1 glitches, lanky mario, jujujujuju, it would be hilarious.

that was so awesome! the creativity in the little story bits, the hilarity of the trolls, the sheer LOVE of the game and its fraught history, poor brian's plight... brian being unable to escape the world until he gives in and turns against the player, only to stand up for the friends that tried to help him, even if they couldn't do anything... that was honestly incredibly sweet and VERY well-made! and at the end, even thanking the player in the credits. ❤ this was a fantastic watch (especially with how quickly you managed to get carl's blunders on the site!) and it's really great to see how much love and care everyone put into making this, especially with the sheer scale of the credits level, lol. that was super cool!
