I saw this on Danny Maude's you tube video with Pete Cowen on the video teaching this to Danny. He went over cackhanded, rotating the forearm. Using the right side and shoulder to push to the left. He emphasized the right shoulder leading towards the ground. All this gets your shift to the left side. I have never hit the ball better. I've watched many many videos from all of you who all have great tips. But that 30 minute video is by far the best of them all. I recommend that for everyone. Danny Maude. You'll get to see Pete Cowen do his thing. Maude's latest video is also great for distance. Thank you for all your tips

Sorry not sure who that is but glad you think the tip is useful Tom! 🙌🏼

Imo this explains the movement of right arm slightly better and in more detail

Righto Tom - Pete's lesson to Danny was amazing although being from "the other side of the pond" I had never heard of the term cackhanded until I looked it up LOL. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4GTpHWwfr2FqsU

Nothing new in golf and your explanation 9f the rotation is great... but pretending you don't know of Danny Maude 😂... Ever heard of Rick Sheils?

Great tips. I had a lesson the other day, and my tutor pointed this out as a weakness in my swing. I thought I was doing it anyway, but clearly not. But it made a tonne of difference. I go to leather the ball, and distance hasn't been a major issue, but doing this, which I didn't before, as much as I thought, when it was pointed out, it gained me 20 yards. Great vid.

Excellent explanation and demonstration Alex on properly using the right arm in the downswing! I've been working very hard on what you have explained in this video with the cocking and uncocking of the right elbow plus the bent back right wrist. Your suggestion of the right forearm rotation is "icing on the cake!" Very well done Alex! Always learning and validating via watching your videos!! Keep up the good work!!!

Oh yeah Alex - loved watching this lesson by Pete and many thanks for refreshing my mind with the cackhanded drill. Ironically, I just received my Precision Impact lag training aid today so while out on the course Pete's drill will make a nice swing emulation drill before teeing off. As always, fantastic lesson 😎 BTW received my Ellermont golf net recently - very well built and even comes with a protective net cover for the off seasons.

Great drill! Many thanks for making clear what was meant by Pete. Is the drill and the movement the same when using the driver?

Hi Alex. Great video. Where can you get the Golf Net from in the UK. Looked at the site you posted and it is US only delivery.

Thank you for the reply... Should I apply same move to the driver? presumably pressure down before ball to then get it on the up?

@@seanb9530 100% this work for irons and driver. Ball position will help that change too!

I have a question. 2 part. How do you mentally prepare yourself for a shot at the shot. Do you approach every shot mentally the same way? Next: On the golf course tips to keeping an even keel through game play through ups and downs (successes and failures)-- to avoid bad days of golf. Is there a way that I can reset myself when I feel as though I'm hitting the ball poorly?

I like to have a pre shot routine to make me get into the stage of forgetting what happened in the last shot and just focusing on the next one to be honest! Yeah i would like to see you following a routine before you go out and play, i think this will help you have a clean slate !

Alex, for those of us who Cannot get their trail arm to the 90'ish degree position at the top of the backswing due to lack of shoulder mobility because of injury or just age, what do we do? How do we counteract that? This video is great for those who can get to that position but what about the rest who cannot? Is there a match-up for that? I can only get my trail arm to about 50-60 degrees at the top of my backswing, which forces me to fly my trail elbow to get to the top of the backswing. I hate, LOATHE, that position but I'm forced into it and it's the only one I can achieve. Is there anything I can do? Thanks!

totally get what you mean, i would say just try and do it slightly if you possibly can and even that will make some form of difference for sure… i will try and cover this though in another video 🙌🏼

I'm a former scratch player. Broke a bone in my spine had to quit for 10 years. Playing again and trying to get the rust off. Now 64 yrs old. Friend is a former tour pro. He tells me I'm flipping it a little early before impact causing me to lose yardage. What tip would you recommend to practice to ingrain that late release?

I get a little confused by this, I’m left handed but play right handed, so I naturally pull down with the left arm. Are you saying I should be pushing down with my right arm?
@AlexElliottGolf9 ай бұрын
If you play golf right handed the right arm should be unloading into the golf ball
@bund4409 ай бұрын
@@AlexElliottGolf but does that mean starting the down swing by pushing/pulling down with the right arm.
