I’ve literally always gone between tresemme, pantene, herbal essences, garnier, suave, or dove and I get so many compliments on my hair. It’s healthy, shiny, and soft and even when I get it cut the stylist always compliments me on it! I’ve never used anything other than drugstore and I’ll never stop even if I could afford high end.

If it works for you it works for you! Everyone’s body is different. Tresseme dries the hell out of my scalp (the hairspray is good though minus the smell). if I don’t use Selsun blue on my scalp I’ll have flakes the size of my dog falling off my head. Don’t let people shame you for ANY product you use whether it’s drugstore or lux

Yup, this truly works. I've been using the serum of reactivate by liittllexttra, and it's effective. My hair has started to grow, especially in areas where I've had persistent issues. Along with aloe vera and amla, the serum is the new addition to my hair routine that has at last shown results after years of trying different oils. Additionally, at the end of the week, instead of throwing out the tea leaves, I use them as a hair rinse during my weekly wash routine.

Pantene will leave a layer of residue on your scalp if you aren’t careful. I love Suave which is super cheap, but I only use their clarifying shampoo and their body wash. I use dove on my kids which isn’t bad either, or I at least don’t think so. Herbal Essence gave me a really bad rash and left me with eczema on my neck that won’t go away the last time I tried it…so I just stay away from their products now. I had no idea Schwarzkopf made hair care products! I love their hair dye!

I have used most drugstore brands with no issues but everyone is different, and if you notice an allergic reaction or an adverse reaction of some kind stop right away and see a Dr if necessary. I am using it although i don't have dandruff so may be i will switch to a different one because why use anti-dandruff shampoo when not suffering from dandruff right. I worry that it dries my hair in the long run because of the extra ingredients it has to fight dandruff. But i love it so much rn i kinda wish h&s starts making shampoos that is not for dandruff. Tresemme used to be great for my hair. However when I became disabled, the health of my hair changed and even my texture, and that's why I ended up having to use different hair products and a lot more professional hair products but it doesn't mean that there isn't bad drugstore hair products but that everyone's hair is different and some people's hair just works better with some haircare products compared to others, and even there's professional products that work well with some people's hair, but don't work well for others.

Really depends on your hair and scalp needs- if you happen to buy the right thing for your specific hair and skin and the drugstore then that's fantastic. The nice thing about professional products is they are often recommended to you by the person who understands your specific hair and skin type/problem areas. But even professional products can take a bit of trial and error to figure out the right fit for you. As someone who has used both, I'd say drugstore can absolutely get the job done but sometimes lead to more problems long term, and with pro you just gotta make sure you're doing a consultation and getting a recommendation for whats right for you (ideally by a stylist who's worked with your hair before, and not the retail staff).

This is a weird comment, but it would be awesome if the image was flipped so we could read the packaging more easily. So many KZbinrs will do these really quick shorts and they're talking so fast you can't necessarily always catch what they're using, and then if the picture is flipped, it's really hard to read labels backwards. So often I'm really interested in a product and I seriously have to watch the video three times to figure out what it is. Or is it just me?

I've used Tresemme for years and my hair is super healthy (not just my opinion, but my hair stylist's as well). I do use a more expensive clarifying shampoo every few weeks though. L'Oréal Dream Lengths heat protectant has also been a game changer in keeping my wavy/curly hair straight for days.

The herbal essences bio line is amazing, its a ph balanced shampoo too so its actually acidic and will close your shaft. I like the blue bottle the most (repair i think) Then the pantiene precious oils hair mask is also amazing, so deeply hydrating

I used the Herbal Essence Bio Renew eucalyptus/aloe one cause I have an oily scalp and dry ends and it literally gave me a rash all on the edges of my scalp and on my neck. I have eczema now that WILL NOT go away and it itches like a mf…. And I don’t even have what I consider sensitive skin😭😭😭 I used to love their hydration one in the blue bottle, but now I’m afraid to even try it ever again.

@EllenCharbs Yeah, not all are good, I used the air dry one, and it made my hair really frizzy and dry lol so now I only stick to the renew one

Have always loved the Tresseme styling products, especially the one you mentioned. How often do you use that L’Oreal bonding set?? I have it and when I use it I can’t get my curls (flat iron) to stay. Curls fall out after a few hours. I need a way to make the curl last while using it.

Hello everyone, this is August 11th 23, I went to Target 🎯 and bought the California Naturals shampoo and conditioner, and have been using them for two weeks now and I have to say that I love it !! It's for all hair types and is Cruelty free, it's Vegan ! ! I'm impressed !! The Shampoo has Coconut Cleansing Complex ", and Agave Nectar, Sunflower Extract. Next, the Conditioner has Agave Nectar, Avocado, Oils of Geranium & Sunflower 🌻 For Daily use. Now it's a 12 Fl.oz./358 ML I use the size of a dime with the shampoo 🧴 depending on how much hair you have. They do have a leave in Conditioner as well that I have not tried yet, but I'm going to get soon, it's only $8.99 a Bottle. I will try other Vegan Shampoo and Conditioner when I run out of the California Naturals, but it looks like it's going to be a while. My hair is very soft, and have body as well ❤️‍🩹 I would like to add that I do also like to organic cold pressed Coconut 🥥 oil to help with the ends of my hair when I feel I need to, I put it on while my hair is still damp, and it works out great for me ! Give it a try and see how the California Naturals work for you. Take care, and God Bless you All !!

Can someone please explain how to use the heat protection sprays? I use one of those heated brushes with the tines to straighten my hair, am I supposed to use the spray and let it dry before using the brush or do it while it's damp?

I would love to know what the best sulfate free drug store products are. I’m allergic to sulfates and have been dealing with this allergy for about 10 years now. I really miss my generic shampoo and conditioner. I feel like most sulfate free shampoos/conditioners I try are just meh.

I’ve used that heat spray from Tresseme since I was a teen, so maybe 17 years? It’s feather light and doesn’t weigh my hair down and doesn’t have a bunch of frills like hold or texture.

I had great results from tresemme fr, it was a fav of mine for ages. The suave pro stuff is great too. I have super long, coarse, wavy, dry hair. My current HG is the loreal dream lengths line, genuinely changed my hair lol. I use it with their wonder water. I rotate it through with the fiber deep conditioner from that line for protein or the sauce deep moisture mask from sallys. My hair has genuinely never been nicer and I've tried a ton of stuff from natural lines to high end. I also use amla oil as a preshampoo treatment. Camille rose also has great products, i use their rosemary water and their honey mousse. I also sometimes clarify with the neutrogena healthy scalp clarifying shampoo. The mis en scene is a korean hair serum that i get from amazon that is a DREAM, and eva nyc has some dope stuff too!! Love the satin dream leave-in and the primer. Tldr: my hair is naturally a mess but i use drugstore stuff and my hair is a dream rn

I used treeseme for years and always got compliments from hairstylists and they were always shocked when I told them. I switched to higher end and have more dryness overall, but I’ve been scared to go back to drugstore cuz people claimed it made their hair fallout. I might just make the switch back.

As a cosmetologist I always said , if it works for you- it works. Just because it has an expensive price tag, it doesn’t mean it’s better. Personally, I use Hask from WM/Drug stores because I’m not allergic to it and cheap Suave clarifying shampoo because….it works!

See, I used treseme for years, and my hair was so damaged. I know everyone’s hair is different, but until I cut out all sulfates, silicones, and parabens did my hair health improve drastically. I’ve never used a lot of heat on my hair, or brushed it excessively either, it’s just my hair did not do well with conventional hair products. If it works for other people though, I think that’s great. Everyone has to use what works for them.
