I've tried most of these. I have oily skin, acne prone, and I use tretinoin. I don't wear makeup. My experiences: Eucerin Body 30 is amazing. I agree with everything Dr. Dray said. Eucerin Face 30 has oil in it and makes my face oily, but I love it on my neck and chest! Olay Complete is a favorite! Differin/Cetaphil Pro burned my eyes and looked greasy. CeraVe Tinted is too orange and heavy. CeraVe Facial was a favorite for years until the formula changed. It doesn't rub in and is streaky 😢 CeraVe Ultralight burned my eyes so much and is greasy. EltaMD sunscreens are my absolute favorite, followed by DRMTLGY.

Wow someone who tries more things than I do!! I love the cetaphil one. My skin so very dry & found the cerave clogged my pores so bad & didn’t look good on my skin. I’m with you on the eltamd. Which one do You use? It’s so expensive... always hunting to find something else, but it just looks so beautiful on the skin. I cover w cetaphil tinted one & that’s as close to makeup as I get lately

I'm the same! And I agree the Differin burned my eyes the worst. The cerave tinted was too dark for me and stayed wet feeling/looking on my face. I quite like the La Roche Posay but it stings my eyes a little. I may try the Olay since you say its so good. No white cast? And do you use the Eucerin body on your face or just your body?
@stephanieabutler

@@emmilouwho1530 Hi 🙋 I use the Eucerin Daily Hydration (big tube) on my body. I've never used it on my face but I think it would be fine for someone who has drier skin than mine. I'm an oil slick! The Olay has like a teeny cast but if you're fair then it's not noticeable. I usually put a tinted sunscreen over so it's no problem. It's moisturizing without being greasy. It's gentle and very affordable! I've tried other La Roche Posay ones and I can't tolerate them. I also can't tolerate any Neutrogena sunscreens. MD Solar Science is supposed to be good but the tinted one was like butter and never tried (Dr. Dray had the same experience.)

Thanks for recommending some indoor sunscreens. I moved to a hot humid state and the sun is really irritating and strong. Even in October! I started getting sunspots and wrinkles around the eyes ever since I moved here. It's from the constant squinting in the sun. So I now I never take off my shades and never go out without sunscreen. And it really improved. The sun dried out my skin and gives me a burning feeling in about 15 minutes. I avoid going out until late afternoon/ early evenings. The sun is irritating even indoors, so I really do need it inside. Unless I wanna live in darkness. I don't, but I still use curtains. As for everyone who is skeptical, look what it does to furniture, drapes, and carpeting. Even walls. They fade but you won't notice unless you move the furniture. I'm a believer, now!

I saw a former clip of your’s and decided to purchase the Eucerin Daily Hydration moisturizer with SPF 30. I got it through iHerb as I don’t live in the states, and I found to be extremely moisturizing. I love the product because it glides on my skin so smoothly. The only thing with this is the scent (sunscreen scent) while you’re putting it on. The product absorbs very quickly into the skin. I tried putting it on my face and it sort of stung my eyes so now, I only use this on my arms and other parts. Besides that, I feel you get a lot of volume of the product for what you pay for.

Thank you for your recommendations Dr. Dray!! Here's my experience with ones I was able to find in my region: I just bought the Cetaphil redness relieving tinted SPF (shipped from US on Amazon). It is a great formulation! application is smooth and it leaves my skin feeling hydrated. But unfortunately the pigment is too orange and it makes me look like an oompa loompa. The Cerave AM SPF is the only CeraVe SPF available in my region of Canada, and i've had the worst experience with it! It was one of the worst products for pilling! I wasn't sure if it was because I used a moisturizer underneath, but I still had issues when applying to bare skin (it was even worse in the stubble area). DRMTLGY is by far the best tinted sunscreen I've used, but they stopped shipping to Canada so I'm on a desperate mission trying to find another tinted SPF in Canada.

When I apply Cerave SPF 30 moisturizer on damp skin, it "absorbs" quickly without a cast. It works well as a first layer even for my tanned skin color. If I apply it on dry skin or if I apply a quick second layer, it results in pilling for some reason. I use stronger sunscreens on top of the Cerave--and that works quite well!

Hey Dr Dray hope you're good! A small ask.. the next time you talk about retinol, can you summarise differin's anti ageing benefits vs tretinoin and retinol. I would very much appreciate this too. If you could please do an informative video about the different types of retionoids? 🥺 Retinol, adapalene, tretinoin, and of course tazarotene! For example, about three weeks ago my derm just skipped through all and got me started on tazarotene for six months for my post acne scarring and anti-aging concerns. But here I am watching all your videos and reading couple of medical articles and still debating within about whether it is the right choice. (So far for scarring it definitely seem like it. There is a study made in India with great results comparing tazarotene to microneedling). But in any case, would love to hear your opinions for all retinoids. You have a video about why you advice people to use differin, and then later why you quit differin and started tretinoin. I can understand that this is for moving towards to more antiaging benefits than acne but what about tazarotene in this regard? Should we use it in long run? Would there be more benefits or rather would it cause irritation so maybe we should get back to tretinoin? I have so many questions.... And yes, I do ask them to my derm but I would love to hear your thoughts too! Thank you for everything as always! ❤️

What I would like to know what is the most important ingredient that a sunblock/sunscreen should have. When I read the long list ingredients on the labels, it feels there is so much jargon that one need a PhD to understand it Would be helpful to list the ingredients, by separate, included in: Chemical sunscreen Mineral sunscreen Its good to know this, as most of the drugstore customer assistants role is to sell ( to make profit), instead of educating those who are genuinely interested. Would love to hear for dry skin, I live in London, but travels often to asian countries. I heard that asian products (japanese / korean) are of high quality and are made for asian skin only?
