With the banlist here, most players are wanting more. What engines would you consider playing in dark magician post banlist ?

Beanded or diabellstar. I tried every engine and nothing works as good as the branded engine. Recently the toy engine which is nice but it's not consistent with DM, the free resources are nice but needs something else. You DM engine is so bricky with dark magician girl, Timaeus,souls(all dm spells/traps)and the rod sadly is also not good anymore.

The more I use Toy DM, the more I realized the rest of the DM cards were not doing enough to justify keeping a spot. Switched all the DM cards out for Kash and Bystial and it seems to be doing better. DM just needs more support at this point.

Yes and no. Have you heard some of the suggestions? DM legit is a few good cards from being the best none broke list. What I mean by this is decks like release Tiers (let alone Ishizu), Kash, Fiendsmith, Bystial etc have crippled the game to the point they seem to want a "1card does everything" in every slot of a list. Card synergies are no longer needed because the base effects are stupid good already but then they add the synergy effect on top as a win more effect. Consistency is no longer a factor and minimum power boards are everywhere hence Appo ban and Barronne. For DM using another engine while having arguably the best 1 for 1 boss and then 4 negates to be considered as JUST OKAY sounds mental in any aspect of the core mechanics. I personally want to see SOME support but only so circle can actually draw and maybe see a battle phase once in a while. But as most already agree the power level.of the game needs to come down a lot and by proxy that "buffs" DM well all lower decks so you don't want to over buff either. It's a tough balancing act but atm the game has little design space left with the current mechanics. Too many negates exist and generic boards. Old game mechanics are bypassed so they need another revision imo starting with defence which hasn't ever changed or been buffed. For example life points or card zones.

Yeah konami must release more dm engines that can really support dm decks and can fight for modern decks and can achieve in meta tru the top like the tenpai, snake eyes, ryzeal, or yubels

Love that content ..you and dodo are why I keep trying to theory craft in the hopes I find that 1 tech to help you guys lol .. I’ve been messing around with a combo of toy box white forest and the new blue eyes cards..can make some crazy end boards but it’s probably unrealistic for competitive but there’s a lot of synergy there I think you could figure out better than me..there’s a lot of “garnets” but there all 1 cars starters for the most part so it doesn’t really matter if you draw them just no room for non engine..sorry this is long keep on grinding man

Hear me out. Retrain eye of timeus so it can be searched by DM cards. A retrain or DM Girl so she can either special summon herself or destroy/banish something when she comes to the field that also counts as DM Girl so you can summon here with The DM’s. Limit Dragoon to 1. And finally add a new search card other than rod. Let it special summon itself and search for DM cards. It can be another lvl 3 for xyz summons or possibly make it a tuner. Draco bezerker can be fun in the deck along with plenty of other synchro monsters. It’s the king of games deck. The pharaohs greatest companion. The deck truthfully just needs something to speed it up and constantly make the same thing. It could easilyyyy be a great deck with just one good upgrade to its consistency. Hell they could even make some kind of synergy with red eyes like the phantom knights-raidraptor deck where they can play off each other pretty well

Just also by the way at around 9:30 when doing the fiendsmith combo, you equipped the sequence to the fiendsmith fusion from field, it can also equip itself from graveyard, so you can use it as link material before equipping allowing for something like a Selene into a rank 4

@17:24 you could have sent Dark Magician girl to the gy to summon the united dragon. Then fuse with dm, next turn resummoning dm with eternal soul and salvation summoning Dm-Girl. This just lets you keep the field spell.

fr. red eyes specifically is in dire need of a structure deck or just back to back 5 card support I hope they at some point beef up the legendary dragons/knights stuff with new support which could happen soon because blue eyes now has the potential to consistently fuse with a trap card(true light, thanks to its new support). All they would need is of course a new fusion using the true light trap card, and then support to search their legendary dragon fusion spell, critias. I hope they buff them all directly by making a link 1, or some maindeck card that's able to search a legendary dragon hermos/critias/timaeus

I did try to add to the dm toy box version the fiendsmith engine and the toy soldier can also add lacrima which will come out in the next set. you can send an engraver in the gy and by adding a necroquip princess and a caesar in the ED its pretty possible to end on both caesar plus desirae. and if u also happen to draw a dragon u can also make the dragoon

Very smart take on why they hit Branded Fusion. As a Branded main fusion to one really did not matter to me. Every hand searches it anyway. albion + Cartesia, Quem + Albion, High Spirits and Albion or Saronir, Aluber, Kitt, Opening, Gold Sarc, Foolish... I could probably list more. Plus you only need to resolve it once. And it you need it then play Fusion Duplication.

Have been testing with the toy box package aswell as feindsmith and bystials, souls +toy box gets you dragoon, desirae minimum, if you open well you can end with regained + a bystial and ip into sp on openents turn

I wouldn't give up on Branded that easily, you can search Branded Fusion with Aluber or Opening and gain their respective graveyard effects as bonus, now we're just more susceptible to other handtraps and might have to choose what to spend our normal summon on. Toybox... i wouldn't call something that doesn't use Dark Magician, its spells, traps and fusions on the field a Dark Magician deck, but that is just my very personal opinion. Something also worth noticing is that both Primoredial and Toybox are great going first, but in my experience Branded might perform better when u have to go second

Elephant in the room my a$$. Branded can be a strong package to add to decks, but only if they can search Branded Fusion. It's alwas been the case. One of the reasons why the decks that run it the most are decks that can search it. Fiendsmith: f*cking broken. Like usual. But it costs you a liver. Toy Box Engine? Heck Yes. The rest mentioned afterwards I never even considered.

i was almost done with my branded list(basically just pre cyac branded since im cheap) i see the list and hey look my entire list is invalidated because you need branded fusion for your good combos like my main list was hit because snake eye mikanko needed the snake eye cards and skull servant lightsworn tear is unplayable due to having 0 endboard now as apo is gone

You don't need 3x branded fusion in DM branded, i played 2 local tournaments this weekend and one used the old banlist and the other used the current banlist, i made my changes thinking we would use the current banlist on Saturday so i just used the 1 branded fusion and the deck was fine, just replace them with branded in red...i topped both tournaments with no losses...

I agree. Whenever I played DM branded before the new banlist, branded fusion was like a cherry on top/end phase follow-up if I didn't open with it. I mean, it's like not branded dm doesn't have cartesia, fusion deployment, and nadir servant to add Albaz to hand/field from deck/graveyard. I won't deny that branded fusion to one does hurt the deck. However, we do have alternatives. The only problem now is that we branded/dm players are going to have to try a little harder with the Branded engine. If we use multiples of albaz, we are gonna be forced to run Nadir servant and cards that send albaz to the graveyard so that branded in red becomes more viable. Possibly also cards that will let us recycle that one copy of branded fusion. In all honesty, whenever I played DM branded, I found myself fusing through cartesia far more than branded fusion.

Cartesia is much more useful and can also bait out veilers, which if the effect is negated then you can synchro with it and a lv8/lv7 for either psychic end punisher or luluwalilith. I also used the deck recently and it did very well, substituting 2 branded fusion won't be an issue.

Invoked Dark Magician? Seeing how Branded Fusion got the shaft to 1, its still a solid (if simple and powercrept engine). Aleister NS still GOATED. I do have the Toy Box engine but I need Soul Servant to come down in price via reprint before I commit to a DM build. This is a really good video though. Very informative.

Just curious why is Artemis used often for a Link-1 Monster? I get it's a Spellcaster and that it's Light, but wouldn't you want a Link-1 that can be made off of anything to be an easier extender to the other Links? For the Toy Box/Bystial engines, I felt like it would have been easier to go into Dharc or something else if the Link-1 was Dark, or a Dark Spellcaster specifically. Just wondering if there's more you can do with Artemis I don't know about, since I assume its effect is essentially useless being Magistus support.

Its sets up rod in grave with a "useless" spellcaster on field to tribute on the opponents turn. Also artemis being a link 1 means we can use sp little for its full potential with just rod and Souls.

im relatively new to yugioh, just a short question: why dont play red eyes fusion? im only playing with friends and not at tournaments/locals and it works really really well. i played like 20-30 duels with this deck and only lost like 2-4 times. i would really appreciate it if someone could explain this to me :)

If you play Red-Eyes Fusion, you cannot special summon or normal summon to the turn you use it. Meaning you can ONLY set a monster and that's it. It honestly is not worth summoning a Dragoon and ending your turn.

Im tired of staple cards and the lack of originality in this game. In the show, which is what i love most, you can never guess what the opponent is going to have and it took actual skill to overcome your opponents cards and not just be like OHhhHhh nEGaTe. Yugioh gets more and more lame every year. But at least theres finally good Blue Eyes cards and i guess dark magician is alright.

I was using branded engine in my deck but ıts not worth it anymore, currently toy box is the best engine until Primoredial realese after that we need to see.
