Shoulders are a muscle group that looks good when they are wide and round. They respond well to use lighter weight and strict form to build them even bigger. It really does not take much to work the shoulders and build them, and you don’t need too many different exercises to work them. Shoulders make you look big and wide in the torso, so it is important to make sure that you work them!
There are lots of good exercises to work the shoulders, but there is really only one exercise that you NEED to do if you want bigger shoulders. Whether you are at home or in the gym, using dumbbell or resistance bands, this exercise gets the job done! This is also a great exercise if you have previous shoulder injuries because you don't need to lift the weight over your head.

Good video. I 've had shoulder problems in the pass. So bad I could barely raise my arms to remove my shirt. Went to the doctors, all I got was you have Arthritis, Without any test, MRI or x-rays. I told him what I was doing when I injured it. Saw more Doctors, got the same. After that, I did my own homework on the shoulders, and start doing exercises to relieve the pain and heal the shoulder, and it works to this day. Never had surgery. Now if I have an issue, I know just what to do. But I do only light weights for the shoulders, When I do the side laterals, I do them slowly like I am pouring a pitcher of water with only 5lbs, and it's a killer after about 15 reps. Love my resistance bands for the shoulders.

Good advice! Starts at 3:00. Common thought is that turning the thumbs down causes an impingement. But like you said, everyone needs to determine if that is true for them.

Just discovered your channel recently. Thank you! I am a 72 year old weightlifter on the leader board at my local gym 🏋️‍♂️ in Southern Colorado. Last November I got a shoulder injury. Certain exercises a can't perform. Now I can see some light at the end of a tunnel thanks to you! 😊

New subscriber here aged 59 love your channel. As someone who has undergone 2 key hole shoulder operations first in 2014 for one capsular release from frozen shoulder ouch ! second one last December 2021, subacromial decompression both required extensive home excercise programmes and physio post surgery to strengthen shoulder and maintain mobility. I personally know the importance of having healthy shoulders and how complex the area is also. I currently excercise my shoulders every day approx 25/30 minutes sometimes even more max weight 5kg also use bands my shoulders feel so good am able to cycle 100 plus miles a week without pain due to impingement and get a couple of games of golf in too, the joys of being retired. Thank you I look forward to watching more of your videos.

I have been following your guidance for the last week. Focussing on raising the elbows has hugely improved my form in this exercise. Many, many thanks. BTW, I am 54 and really enjoying the benefits of focussing on strength training several times per week.

Just watched Athlean X physical therapist talking about how dangerous it is for a shoulder lateral raise to tilt hand forward like you say you to do here, thumb below pinky, pour the pitcher style. I think the only thing all experts agree on is that exercise is good. 😂
