I think Mike Stoklasa said the same to Jay Bauman (Red Letter Media) about Censor, that it's as if the film were made for him. Which of course led to much fake laughter.

I work at a small library and I asked my director if we could add Cop Shop to our DVD collection. She watched the trailer, shrugged and said okay! So I got to watch it before the public and really dug the crap outta it. Thanks for putting this film on my radar, Brad!

I think my favorite one of the year might have to be Dune. Yeah, I think it's a bit of a cliché pick, but I just loved the cinematography and it's the most actually interesting sci-fi movie I've seen in a long time. It didn't feel like a product and really like a story they really wanted to tell.

A lot of great films came out in 2021. Zack Snyder giving us the Justice League movie we deserved, “The Guilty” with a powerful performance by Jake Gyllenhaal, Edgar Wright outdoing himself once again with “Last Night in Soho”, Sony and Disney coming together to make one of the best Spider-Man movies of all time, and in my opinion “The Green Knight” beats all of them for best film of the year because of just how amazingly crafted everything about it was. It was truly a fantasy epic that had me attached to it throughout the entire run time.

Next to CineFix, this is the Best of list I look forward to most every year. I saw the number 1 pick purely based on Brad's review, and had a great time with it. Unsurprisingly I was the only one in the theater. I can't say it would be in my top 10, but I know a couple people I would recommend it to. I also liked Wrath of Man more than I thought; with that and The Gentleman in 2020, I've been enjoying Guy Ritchie a lot lately, so I'm looking forward to Operation Fortune this year.

I'm not able to see nearly as many movies as you, but I did love Copshop, though I was a bit disappointed in the ending. I mean, it fit the tone of the rest of the movie, but just didn't make much sense. I have to say though, I'm a bit surprised you didn't list Boss Level - I actually saw it because of your Copshop review, and I loved it so much.

I'm still trying to play the game of catch-up on movies I wanted to see but haven't yet (like Benedetta and Licorice Pizza and Pig), but It was cool seeing some movies I have seen pop into Brads List (albeit some in different places than in my list). I had never heard of Censor, but having seen it a few weeks ago, I can honestly say it's a must see for movie fans, especially horror movie fans. :D We did an episode on it last week, and also did one on Pig, another film on this list, and one of Nicolas Cage's best performances of his career :)

Perhaps my favorite movie I saw this year was Tick Tick… Boom! It was great to see a movie musical that just… got it. WSS was also stunning, as was Belfast. Also recommend Dream Horse. Haven’t seen a ton of movies this year because I’ve been wobbly on how I feel about going back to the movies.

Green Knight was my number 1, followed by Dune. Frank Grillo complained that the producers didn't release Joe Carnhan's cut of Copshop, but instead was pressured by Gerard Butler to remove parts of Grillo's performance. Both Grillo and Butler are listed as producer, but I guess Butler has more star power. I felt that Grillo did a god jobb, so I wonder what is missing from his performance, what was left out. Did Butler feel Grillo took the spotlight?
