Thank you Dr. Rhonda for being the first person years ago to tell us about vitamin D. All during the pandemic I have made sure that my family gets their multivitamins, with vitamin D 3 boosts, and kelp for an iodine boost. Salad daily for B’s,mg, etc. Turns out vitamin D is getting more and more emphasis as Covid goes on. We have done very OK with the covid years. I specifically want to thank you for the general and very scientific nutrition talks, long before covid came along.

Im hoping Rhonda does a video on Nitric oxide, Specifically enos. I have been taking citrulline, 6 grams per day, for the last 8 years and it has been the most worthy of all the supplements I have ever taken. It saved my life. I am 66 with some testing that has surprised my doctors, especially cardiovascular wise . It has been shown to preserve the BBB as well which may be good for me since I have two copies of the apoe4 gene.

I would love a video about oxalates through your eyes. Anytime you are asked about oxalates in interviews I've watched you discard the question. Thats ok, but its an issue for so many people...why don't you think they are a problem? Your smoothies are full of them. If they really are harmless then we need that science laid out by a reliable person like you. Thanks for considering this matter!

From the 2015 BMC article, "Oxalate induces breast cancer" Not risk, or maybe, or might or it could, but all. "We measured oxalate concentration in both human breast tumor tissues and adjoining non-pathological breast tissues. We found that all tested breast tumor tissues contain a higher concentration of oxalates than their counterpart non-pathological breast tissue."

You mentioned that fish oil should be refrigerated. You also have mentioned in the past that fish oil needs to be high-quality. Then you mentioned studies of people taking fish oil supplements. Are these people who are taking the fish oil supplements, taking high-quality supplements and are they refrigerating it? Or are they just picking any random fish oil supplement in the market and receiving benefits anyways? Are these long-term studies? Or are these short-term studies? Were they provided with official supplements? How long were they provided with fish oil supplements? I have been listening to you for a really long time Dr. RP. I like the stuff that you provide, but now re-listening to you for God knows how many times over I have these random questions popping in my mind. I hope you can answer them. I really appreciate if you can. thank you for your time.

@@AlwaysRight1111hey listen, it can be pretty debilitating to have lack of focus, you find your brain automatically zoning out completely out of your control , likely due to our bad diet and brain fog (the whole reason we're watching this video) even when highly disciplined. So like for me, this video took me double the amount of time that it actually runs for due to me zoning out even though I'm staring at my wall in order to focus as I struggle with attention as well. You don't understand, you literally forget to pay attention for a few seconds at a time not due to laziness and your mind goes blank almost like a mini body and mind paralysis moment. I deal with it by rewinding the video where I need to but this guy probably doesn't want to spend an hour or two trying to comprehend a 25 minute video. Have some understanding for us low focus folks please! It's just as frustrating to us as it is to you... 😢

Is TRU niagen the same as N A D
@larsnystrom6698
@larsnystrom6698 2 ай бұрын
No, TruNiagen a precursor to NAD. NAD itself can't enter the cells where it is useful. All forms of vitamin B3 are precursors the cells are utilizing to build their own NAD+. TruNiagen is NR, Nicotin Riboside, that and NMN are patented forms of vitamin B3, and thus rather expensive. Nicotin Acid and Niacinamide are other forms. Niacinamide is dirt cheap an that's what's in all multivitamins. Nicotin Acid has the effect of flushing the skin red at higher doses. Some people find that an interesting effect, others doesn’t like that at all. It's a good idea to start slow with it anyway. (That is start with only 50 mg. Thats still twice the dose we need of B3.)

I would rather start with supplementing with things most of us are deficient in, which aren’t in multivitamins, such as magnesium, vitamin D3, and K2. Multivitamins and multiminerals aren't enough. There are things in food no multivitamins has. Don't use multivitamis as an excuse to eat crappy food, that won't work! You already know what kind of food you should eat, just do that too. Also, ignoring fads might be good for you.

Consider the vast majority of Americans are either diabetic or prediabetic, a lot of the foods she recommends are foods that should not be eaten. It is for that very reason that ketogenic and carnivore diets become helpful. And the diet she recommends, is not going to help people lose weight.

Why fish oil supplements as opposed to krill oil? Is the capsule form of sulforaphane as good as broccoli sprouts powder?

I'm not sure I buy her arguments. She seems to be making a scientific only argument based on the idea that more nutrients is better, and also the argument that a balanced diet is necessary. I see diet not only from a scientific perspective, but also a evolutionary one. I am a firm believer that the staple foods for humans is only two things...protein and fat. I can't find any science at all that shows we need to eat a balanced diet, and that if we eat a variety of foods like vegetables, carbs or even organ meats that we benefit in any way over just a plain carnivore, muscle meat diet. Most all animals in nature have one or two foods they eat to be perfectly healthy, but for some reason, most people are convinced that humans need to eat many different types of food for perfect health. This in my opinion is why people who are carnivores, like myself, Shawn Baker, Kelly Hogan, and at one time Mikaela Peterson did so well just eating meat, and only muscle meats. Certainly eating a variety of foods is perfectly fine for most people, but is there any real definitive science or evolutionary evidence that it will make us healthier? I can't find any proof, and accurate evidence is also lacking. This is a mistake I see a lot of experts, doctors and educated people make. They will use science to prove a point, and add an idea that has never really been proven, like the benefits of eating a balanced diet or eating plenty of micro-nutrients that seem to make sense to add to their theories and they present that idea as fact, when it has not really been well thought out and could certainly be wrong.
@healthtips8041
@healthtips8041 2 жыл бұрын
I also used to be the part of the keto/carnivore camp for quite a long time and a lot of what you're saying makes a lot of sense. At the same time, I have since then looked into a ton of science and I do believe there is a huge difference between carnivore and something like a mostly plant-based diet. From what I know now, most non-athletes will feel better on carnivore short-term and they'll feel better on mostly plant-based in the longer-term. I agree that the balance thing is somewhat of a BS although the way Rhonda means it makes a lot more sense than what most people think of as a balanced diet.
@ClassicJukeboxBand
@ClassicJukeboxBand 2 жыл бұрын
@@healthtips8041 I figured out a fallacy about nutrition. Almost everybody sees nutrition from a "more nutrients are always better" point of view. I don't. I see nutrition from more of an evolutionary point of view. In my opinion, all animals evolved to eat different foods, and those foods they have an instinct to eat is what they evolved to eat. The amount of nutrients is not what is really important. It's the animals genetic ability to process the nutrients it needs is what really matters. Some animals eat plants. Some eat meats. Some eat both. Many herbivores eat different plants that they evolved to thrive on. Many carnivores eat different parts of the animal that they thrive on. Some do better with just protein and fat, some do better on organ meats, some eat both. The animals' appropriate diet needs to be studied and seen from that perspective, but almost everybody sees human diet from a more vitamins is always better point of view.

Well done on finding what works for YOU. Why does it have it be one or the other explicitly for everyone? For years millions of people around the world live a long and healthy life eating a balanced diet. Sure, some are doing well on carnivore but that doesn't mean it's the ONLY way.
@ClassicJukeboxBand

@@timeandmoney84 So what is a balanced diet? Tens of thousands of years ago, we only ate meat and some plants, eggs, milk and maybe fruit in the fall for a few weeks.

You can't make an evolutionary argument without making a scientific argument. So if you're agreeing on the axiom, the only issue is misinterpretation of data on one side of the argument
