The Best Games I've Played While Sick

I remember when I was like 7 years old and I was feeling HORRIBLE. My dad gave me a ds game he picked up at a garage sale. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days it was, I was in love with the gameplay, the story. It made me forget about my sickness for a while, even though I was quite literally nearly dying. I'm gonna be honest, this is probably still my favorite game to this day, even now that im an adult, the main character Roxas is still one of my favorites.

A bit more recently, 2022 to be exact, i had the dreaded covid 19 on my birthday. Wonderful, but I found a game named Library of Ruina, it was a very story focused turn based rpg. The gameplay was good, but the story is unforgettable, it explores some sensitive topics which really make you think about how these characters feel. The game is fully voiced in korean, subtitled in english/langauge of choice , so sometimes you can't exactly understand what they are saying, but the emotion they express from the voice acting sometimes makes the need for subtitles negligible. Thanks for reading my two rants bout my fav games while I was sick, I really suggest giving Library of Ruina a try, but just remember to read, some of my friends got pretty frustrated on some fights because of it..

For me the best sick game for the last 20 years is the Resident Evil GameCube remake. It just feels so familiar to me and no longer scary. That save music ❤️

Metroid Prime is one of those games like Oblivion, Fallout 3 or Skyrim ... It's technically not supposed to be a cozy game but man is it *COZY* ! ! The gorgeous graphics, the soothing/adventurous soundtrack + masterful sound design, exploring the beautifully crafted environments alone at your leasure ... It's one of the coziest games you can play if it successfully immerses you. That's why I never understood the complaints about backtracking and the artifact hunt at the end. Like, dude ... Just walking in this game, just traversing the map, the traversal itself is *SO GOOD* it just makes me want to boot the game, walk around planet Tallon IV and take-in the atmosphere. Here's hoping RetroStudios can recapture that essence that the OG trilogy had for Prime 4

What I really love about your videos is they feel really anti-feedback (idk how else to put it my bad for the phrasing lol). There isn’t any choppy editing or loud music it just feels super chill. I really appreciate them so much coz it gives a lot of needed structure in my life and something to have on the background to motivate me into doing work.

Prime and Double Dash were the first 2 games we got with our Gamecube on Christmas in like 2003. It's been in my top 3 ever since. The remaster is perfect. I beat it like 5 times before playing something else and still go back to it.

In general my go to as a kid was donkey Kong country 2 and yoshis islands. Now as an adult my go to is ninja gaiden black. I first played ninja gaiden (Xbox) after getting a major dental surgery when I was younger and I was in major pain and could only eat plain soup. My parents let me rent ninja gaiden to pass the time and it got me through it and really forced me to level up my gaming skills. Now it’s become a comfort game for me

I picked up prime for the switch but haven’t completed it yet. I was so excited when they remastered it because this was the first game I got with my GameCube along with Mario kart double dash(best Mario kart game imo)

@@minnidot Donkey Kong Country two is about Diddy and newcomer Dixie saving Dk who was kidnapped by K rool. Metroid Zero Mission is a remake of the very first Metroid and unlike the original Zero Mission is very accessible. In Zero Mission there's a scene there Samus has lost her armor and she has to sneak past aliens until she gets it back.

Great video 👍 a different generation here , when I was kid in 70s and 80s my mom would move around the Atari so I could lay on couch and play . Usually pitfall or just practice combat skills for when friends would come over . Now for my old outdated ass it’s animal crossing or botw on the switch in handheld . Games have come a long way

I was scared of Metroid Prime when I was a kid too, but yet Turok Evolution didn’t. Games can be good to keep your mind off the sick but when you decide to stop playing you’re like, oh yea I’m sick. 🤣

It was always Skyrim for me but 2 years ago I got Covid quite bad and after the initial few days in bed, I had a month of feeling run down and I decided to finally compete BOTW and I completely immersed myself. It is now my favourite game of all time!

I was sick just over 2 weeks ago and played through Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, finished God of war 2018 which I was over half way through, and played through Blood and Wine for Witcher 3. It was a good time being sick.

A weird game I played while sick when I was younger was Hotel Dusk Room 215 on the DS of all things. It was such a fun and unique detective, story/puzzle game to just blast through over the weekend while stuck in bed.

That PC port of Majora's mask looks so nice. I beat it for the first time a few months ago but I played the 3DS version using Cemu and the Project Restoration patch. Not when I was sick but I had surgery years ago that required me to not do too much physical activity for a few weeks. So I replayed one of my favorite Gamecube games called Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. I first played it back in 2005 when it released and usually return to it every couple of years.

@@BBKDRAGOON Yeah I played the Crimson Flower route and am currently doing a Blue Lions playthrough but I love 3 houses. I enjoy how different it feels to a lot of the other games and it's got a great vibe. My friend was watching me play one day and he said it reminded him of a Dreamcast game which I thought was an interesting way to see it. Would absolutely recommend returning to it.
