Perfect video for me right now as I just seeded both the front and backyard with the regular barenbrug regenerating ryegrass and I think it’s the perfect choice for me. I had Bermuda and it’s technically listed as a weed and it’s not always a soft variety. So many good things about this ryegrass including softness which is huge for me. And great color!

Great video! I only have experience with Barenbrug's RTF and that stuff is amazing! Did a renovation on June 3 this year and I a so impressed. It is already repairing itself. It seems to be more drought tolerant than my old turf I killed off too! I am cutting it at 1 1/2 inches with a Honda HRC Mower it is is doing great! Also I have KBG in my back and it can't/doesn't repair my dog urine spots at all. I need to scrape it up and reseed about a dozen spots. I am a Barenbrug grass guy and so far the results are pretty good...one thing I did notice though , which I have said in other videos is, if there is any kind of drought, the grass will go south quickly...it won't die but it loses it's color quickly if it is depleted of water.....it bounces back with cooler temps and fall rains but if you want it green all season in non-winter states, keep the sprinkler handy...great video Lawn Ginga

Ginja, have you had any problems with fungus in your perennial ryegrass? I live in the same area as you. I have a 50/50 mix of Seed Superstore's PRG blend and IFA's PRG blend. Mine has no issues all year except winter. Last spring I had bad snow mold damage. Didn't use any fungicide last fall/winter. This year, about a month ago, I spread Scott's Disease Ex just as the snow started and got it all spread before snow began to accumulate. Examined my lawn a few days ago and have brown spots and a some mold and slimy grass under the mold. Not as much as last year but still some, and even right after applying Disease Ex at the heavy rate. So, I'm curious about your experience. Maybe you apply fungicide regularly, and maybe that's something I need to do for this grass type. Just ordered a gallon of propiconazole.

He says his mixes are customized specifically for him but the one on Stover's website listed the exact same cultivars. So at least in the case of that seed it was just a label swap and huge markup (not a bad living if you can get it). After doing further research and consulting r/lawncare, this seems to be mostly everyone's assessment of his brand of seed.

I used that same RK mix last fall and again this late summer (leftover seed) - it's a well performing mix in terms of germination (4 days for me!) and color. However if you order directly from Stovers, you aren't guaranteed to actually receive the cultivars you think you are selecting and there may also be weed seed. Stovers can substitute what you think you are selecting with other similar characteristic cultivars, because that's exactly what happened to me when I bought a 10# bag of Royal Blue. I think it was $120 with shipping but I ended up just keeping it rather than dealing with return shipping costs. Worth also noting that the RK and Stovers seeds are not blue tagged. I may update this later when I can review with the actual seed tag texts when I get a chance. Not sure I would buy any RK again as I'm not a fan of directly supporting the barn project that likely is a massive tax write off that with the appearance of a farm without being a real farm...all while saying 'buy my product'.
