John Tarantino My setup on my SG (was originally going to be on a strat but ive gone a different route now) is an old Ibanez Super 58 PAF in the neck (an AMAZING 57 Classic copy they made back in the day) with an Uncovered vintage DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge. Some people dont like those old DMs, I love this one, if you want double 'buckers thats what I suggest, gives you incredible tonal variety using a hot bridge and smooth driven neck. I have another strat setup ALMOST normal with a set of Fender Tex Mex singles, 1 volume, master tone and an independent middle pup volume. With the middle volume at ten, I get SERIES in positions 1 and 5 giving me FAAAAT humbucker-esque tones, and in series but out of phase in the inbetween positions. My second but main strat Im building up is going to have a DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF in the bridge, a P90 (with some magic magnet combinations im gonna tinker with) in the neck. Full shielding to shut up that single coil hum, 4 way switch, one volume one tone. Hope that gives you some ideas on what you can do with a strat. Beautiful things. P.S. The wiring for that first strat is called the Armstrong mod. Be careful though, theres another out there that does something entirely different. Good luck and let us know what you choose!!
@danterosales93924 жыл бұрын
John Tarantino P.P.S: The SG is an old bolt on Epi SG Special. The P90 strat was my first ever electric, a squier affinity I got years ago for 30 dollars at a swap meet. The single coil strat is a partscaster I put together with a cheap chinese neck on an old Made in Japan strat body from an ST-57 reissue they did in the 80's that my mentor modded with a B-bender. You dont need a masterbuilt fender or USA gibson to make some killer players man. Be creative!

Tyler is so lucky to work so closely with PRS and be a signature artist and a keynote speaker for the masterclass that happened recently. I live in Maryland and I am 15 years old and I would love to work at the factory. I live about 45 minutes from the Stevensville factory. I am currently casting my net out for working as an apprentice or an intern for a luthier. I emailed the customer service from PRS and Shawn Nuthall got back to me yesterday and said because of covid 19, they wont let the public in but as soon as this all ends, they will have internships available. If I could have an informational interview under a PTC tech or a line worker, that would be great. PTC did a great job fixing my SE Custom 24 (spalted maple in vintage sunburst) and they buffed out cracking on the binding along the neck and it took them 3 weeks to do that. A really unfortunate event did happen to my baby however. When the store called (Shout out to Bay Tunes and Jeff Packett who handled my PRS and got it to them, he is the GOAT) and I went to go pick it up, I went with my mom and she noticed that there was a quarter sized chip on the bottom of the body next to the bottom strap button on the right. A month later and I get a call saying it got fixed. Excited, I go with my friend and parents and I go in and get it and I looked it over, it looks like there was never a crack there at all!! They filled in the grain perfectly and looks like nothing ever happened. I am forever loyal to PRS and will still keep striving to build instruments and hopefully work for Paul and carry on his legacy. Such an inspiration to me, Paul Reed Smith. I would love to carry on his legacy and innovate.

finally i think i am close to finding the amp i need thanks to obviously pRS but second to your ample demonstration, which was the best i've seen so far online; the pitch and voice that you got after chatting on the phone with prs really turned my head and stopped me; plus you obviously said one thing that grabbed my attention: which is that you are a guy who likes a quality tone, no disrespect to all the dirt tones flying around the ethernet; but a quality tone is the ultimate find, what ever one's taste; and i am falling under the spell of this amp; i can't wait to play my PRS CU 24 and my PRS SE Santana through this amp; i pretty much decided while you were playing that this is the amp that i am going to go for, based on what i heard you play, on what came out of it; you pay a few extra dollars, but what you get is an extra level leap beyond the pack on the market; if you are playing a prs guitar, then that guitar deserves to be heard through the best amp you can afford; for me, that is the PRS Archon 50 Head and CAB, and for the price, i reckon that my guitars are going to fall in love with the amp and vice versa; so thanks for helping me make my mind up; i did a lot of searching to find the voice that comes out of that little mother; i love how you got it up the stairs by the way; that got my attention; and i am definitely going to subscribe to your channel just to hear that amp and guitar family of yours find the voices they were made to create; God bless you brother; keep up the great work; would love to hear you play a Santana retro or a CU 24, or higher if you happen to have one laying around.

I used to live in a house like yours...where in moving a given cab, amp or rack of gear (normally stored in my primary studio space), out for an important gig & back in after the gig, gave me the reason and the incentive to create a variation on an old song. My version is appropriately entitled: “Stairway to Healey”. Dr. Michael Healey was my chiropractor. The subject matter in my lyrics set should be self-evident. I sold that place about 3 years ago and live in a single story ranch-style house on a relatively flat parcel of land. I predict that you, Tyler, will sell your current home by the time you’re in you 50’s, at the latest, because you will find yourself writing “checks” that your back is no longer able to cash and continued attempts at writing those checks will result in them bouncing or more accurately your vertebral discs no longer bouncing (really rebounding) as you are attempting bucking those cabs, tube amp heads and racks of gear up and down all those stairs. So sell that place, buy a stair-less, built-on-flat-ground house and save the bucking the gear for load-in & load-out at the venues. Your loving and caring wife will be the first to thank you.

I hear that. Got super lucky with finding a lefty SE Custom 24 and I'm in love with it, hang in there chief. The wait is worth it!

I was in love with en until I hold one. It’s weird to say but i feel they’re too light weight? Idk it just didn’t feel right

I still don't understand why people even learn left handed. Theoretically we all start at zero skill. It's such a limiting factor.

My #1 guitar is a 2003 PRS and my new #1 amp is a Mark V. Nice rig you have there.
