Marillion is the most underrated band in music buisness. The sound is amazing. It goes to the brain and to 100% to the heart. No other band can touch me like this band. That was in 1984 in the fish era and especially in the hogarth era. Marillion is number one. I am now 55 years old and no other band is on that high musical level, for such a long time. Cheers.

Steve Rothery, what a legend. The sound he has created is amazing, but the best thing about it is that imho it is totally unique. He doesn't race around the fingerboard, but can if he wants to. He controls and feels every note he plays and the rests in between are just as important. I have tried to play some of the solos and even if I eventually get the notes I can never nail the timing or sound.

Thank you for this! Rothery i.m.h.o. is the ultimate guitar player. When he touches the strings, it feels like angels are cradling my heart and I just wanna cry. No one ever has gotten his timing and feeling for the melody and the intuition of where to start and where to end. I know and also have jammed with very gifted guitarists, but they always end up showing off their skills, endlessly fiddling about with their strings, trying (willingly or being just naive and ignorant) to outshine the rest of the band instead of casting all members into a perfect musical sculpture of art - and the latter is exactly what Rothery does. He's a hero! Rothery is the perfect embodiment of the phrase "less is more"...
