Very informative. Thanks for sharing your personal experience. You are right , US system is really bad. I am retired and on Medicare. For my prescription medicines (I am diabetic), I pay out of pocket about $10,000/year with my supplement insurance. Since my wife and I are above 65, I guess we will have to rely on public health insurance if we move to Portugal.

Dear Alan and Leslie, excellent video with lots of useful information. It would be great to have a more detailed explanation about the Public Healthcare system in Spain on a separate video and what the Private healthcare options and costs are. I am open to give some input to such a video when you are ready. I have many good experiences about both the public and private systems including dental coverage which is not available in the U.S. unless you pay a fortune. My dental coverage and private major medical is just 56 Euros per month and the occasional copays are less than 10 Euros!!! Anyway, we can talk when you want...
