How much time it takes for inula helenium to start working. Should we expect the cough to be more productive first before getting rid of it?

I got whooping cough 3 years ago 7 weeks after getting whooping cough shot. Only homeopathy and cherry tart juice helped ... nothing else and doctors did tons of tests on me and all were fine. Today my cough is still there sometimes more sometimes less...but never went away 100%. It is dry, nothing in chest. No mucus. Not sure what I should do...
