Thanks for making this - the 7.5 R is a good 3-4k more at the moment with low mileage than the 7, but I really wanted the upgraded media. Good to know I can save money by buying a 7 and retrofit. Thank you.

Hey Ricky, Looks very high tech and brings the interior into the Audi trim style quite nicely. Definitely like the look and it seems quite responsive. Always a worry about tech gadgets is how reliable and user friendly they are. This seems quite intuitive! Great video!

Thanks for posting this. Been thinking of doing the same. I saw a video of a mk7.5 rear view camera that seemed to have way better image resolution than the mk7. Have you noticed any improvement in the image resolution or perhaps the camera itself is better on those?

The image has better contrast, and much sharper. But should be the same resolution I believe. Thanks for watching

Did you have to code anything? I seen another video where it had to be coded to work because it was showing things the car did not have and throwing fault lights up for everything

Do you need to change the unit in the drawer to get the unit working? I have a Golf MK7 with a unit with CD player which is really bad, do I have to get the whole unit with the one in the cabin/drawer? thx

The knob you pressed on the MIB 2 called info is giving me traffic alerts about problems like accidents, road blocked and stuff like that. The MIB 2 radio also gives you the possibility of AID when the software is updated (14.87 is the latest).

I'm getting one tomorrow but I'm gonna retrofit to an mk6 jetta really.. which may include manual adjustment to the cassete frame My jetta doesn't have a screen at all it has that RNS rectangular crap that doesn't even have a bluetooth dongol so.. should be a mess but will probably video it and upload the results Not expecting MQB to read performance data from Haldex but.. at least the carplay should work .. which I'm really fine with

I have the same unit in my passat 2020 vehicle. There is a problem of rewinding mp3 tracks in flash memory from typ-c input. For example, it comes up to the 20th track. When you get out of the vehicle and come back after a while, the parts return to the beginning. Can you help with this issue? 3G5035832A-H22-0306 release

Hi, does the reverse camera and parking sensors etc work with the system upgrade on a 2015 model? Also do the driving modes etc, r mode etc just pull through or does it need to be an r specific one?

It's plug and play so no additional wiring is needed. There is no radio code needed as well.

those screens are literally just monitors to a computer. Unless you are putting in Nav version of screen on non-nav cars (in that case the nav/traffic buttons wont do anything), they will swap out without the need for coding

The display lights up with errors because I disconnected the battery. They all went away after I went for a drive. Hit up the EZT link for professional advice? I have it in the description. However, I do know that the unit is basically plug and play for 2016+ GTI/R. The MK7 comes standard with RVC, but I remember retrofitting an OEM one on the MK6. It was a hassle!

It's a discover media screen from the facelift. ;-) but I like the carbon look in the menu. Sadly volkswagen removed it in the facelift.

@@Leozyoo I understand you. The problem is, that this background is no longer available in the facelift units. Why ever VW thought it is obsolete. 🙄 Hope there will be a fix. 😅

I just picked up the non-Nav version for my ‘18 GSW. I realized after that the 6.5” unit I have now has an SD card slot, but this 8” one doesn’t! Or is it hidden somewhere I can’t see?

For me, SD card access is still inside the glove box. It may be different with your car?

Hey Tony, what's VIM? Video-in-motion? If so, nope - this is basically a stock replacement. Maybe there's some sort of coding to enable it? Ie. OBDeleven? or VCDS? But I'm not aware of any at the moment.
