@savage22bolt324 жыл бұрын
Awesome! As I was following your instructions, I paused & replayed a few times. When finished, my knot looked just like yours. FYI - joined 40# / .013" sufix 832 eight fiber braid to 20# / .0185" zebco omniflex mono. The mono is backer, about 20 cranks, to prevent the braid from slipping on the spool. Rod & reel are from a tag sale 30 years ago. Olympic 2065 6-1/2 ft & Daiwa 7350RL. I'm 65 yrs old, so I got my free CT resident fishing license. So now I'm going to walk down the street and cast a worm into the river. Might go buy a couple of lures too, & try them. Thanks very much for teaching me how to join the two lines together❤

These knots look great when you are sat in the comfort of your own home, but how easy would they be if you had to re-tie on the bank with the wind and rain howling into your face? That's why I use a triple surgeons knot to attach my braid to fluorocarbon. It's super simple and hasn't let me down yet

Have you tried this knot while fishing for 500IB Marlin? I fish for mostly marlin and run straight braid. But was looking into adding a top shot for added drag through the water. If you have a better trolling knot I would like to see it. my braid technique works but I can always be better.

@@YakinwithJack 200lb braid to 130lb mono Alberto knot or Fg knot
@brentbillig58645 жыл бұрын
Never understood why guys use lesser lb pound line for there top shot. Why have 200 lb braid when your mono is going to break first. Line is only as strong as your weakest link. I always spool lighter braid as backing then use the same or larger lb mono for the top shot.
@coreyclark73984 жыл бұрын
Heres why id o it (keep in mind im not running 200 lb anything ) I have about 425 yards of 50 lb braid mainline on my spool then about 15 yards of a mono top shot. My mono top shot changes depending on the fish and location. Fighting rockfish? I raise the #test not cause the fish is heavy but because of the enviorment. the heavier line holds up in the rocks better, and im not breaking the bak respooling with braid all the time. I can tie the alberto knot very quickly so its nothing too add a diffrent topshot too my line. When I surf fish i drop it down too a 25 lb
@cameronbradford57144 жыл бұрын
You don’t want to do that

@YakinwithJack6 жыл бұрын
The_Mussos you get a lot more stretch with the mono. Also it is more abrasive resistance especially with the sand bar while land based shark fishing

if you would have gone up 7 turns and come back the same 7 turns you would have a much stronger knot, called the Alberto knot (and no super glue needed!!) that so called improved albright don't work! I know for a fact, I taught that knot at seminars with Crazy Alberto
@YakinwithJack6 жыл бұрын
thanks ill try that next time
@GulfSoftwash5 жыл бұрын
Will it still go through the rod guides with the back 7 wraps on top of the front 7?
@slyarsenal3 жыл бұрын
This is not the best and not suitable for game fishing. A good connection from braid to mono topshot requires 2 double-looped knots and a loop-to-loop connection. I use a bimini twist for the braid to create my first doubled line/loop. On the mono I use an Australian plait to form my second doubled line/loop. This offers closest to 100% line strength.
