There is a led with dense led matrix + diffuse led lighting: the aqua medic angel 200. It's like a better looking kessil ap700 with some T5 (but all done with leds).

I supplement my Kessil AP700 led with.....two Orphek OR2 120 led light bars, one mounted in front and one behind the Kessil. So my hybrid system is the point-source Kessil light and the wall to wall light bars. I absolutely love the look of the tank with both types on and the corals are responding! 😁 Loved this video! lol, flicking money away, perfect. I always test my tentative purchases with the flushing toilet imagery: will buying this (whatever) be more pleasurable than flushing that money down the toilet and watching it drain away? It often surprises me that I feel the purchase won’t measure up! 😂😂😂😂

Taking the plunge , after adding T5 supplementation, I can see major improvements so it’s time for an 8 bulb SunPower :) which I will supplement with more T5 :) and some sparkle from some leds , I think moving to T5 as my main light may help take things to the next level.

Wall to wall led can be done cheap with black box leds, and yes they grow coral., there are some insane sps tanks running them. But tried and true is T5, but it ain't cheap. I would need 16 x 39w to cover my tank, that's two ati units, near $500 in bulbs each year! I ended up with a mix of LED and Plasma LEP. LEP is a sight to behold, the shimmer is like a single kessil that is also a T5 and looks as though your on a shallow reef. Trouble is you need to supplement actinic/blue to bring up a nice 15k look.

I think those are Reefbrite. For MH they are the only game in town nowadays. I have the 250w Single ended fixture and the 250W orange ballast. They seem great so far

Hello!! congratulations you probably have the most beautiful acroporas in the USA :) your work inspired me to try acroporas, here in Brazil Led and T5 fixures are very expensive and I would like to know if I can use 2 maxspect razor, one 150w and another 200w on mine future aquarium with 100x77x60. It's a good question and I purposely did not include price comparisons. Supposedly LED are supposed to save you money in the long run, however I don't believe that this is true. I don't think anyone has really looked at the longevity and the quality of the spectrum of the LEDs in the long-term. I personally changed my T5s out every year, although BRS says that you can probably go longer. So over all, my answer is I don't know. For me it's all about results. Even If LEDs are a little bit cheaper in the long run than T5, but if I have better results with T5, I choose T5 over saving a little bit of money.

I like to have one 6500K. This is a very yellow bulb so the rest would need to be blue to balance it out. So maybe one 6500K, 2 blue plus, 1 ATI actinic. If this turns out to be too blue, you can switch out one of the blue plus for a coral plus or a purple plus. Unfortunately it's hard to know what will be pleasing your own eye. It's just what I would start with. There will likely be some trial and error and you'll end up with unused bulbs. If you can get used bulbs from a friend just to see what it would look like before you buy, that would help. Good luck.
