Can we say 'NYX'? I was in Priceline (an Australian drugstore) the other day and saw a 9 pan NYX eyeshadow palette for $50! For another $20-30 I could go to Mecca/Sephora and buy something much better quality with more product and much more luxe packaging and not made in China. Ridiculous. I've heard even in the US they're getting very pricy for a drugstore brand.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started using powder eyeshadow as liner, for a softer look. The darkest shade in that Profusion palette would definitely work for that! Because I have hooded eyes with limited lid space, I often just use a gel liner to tightline beneath my upper lashes.
@helpfulnhappy5 жыл бұрын
@Denise Brauner me too! Which gel liners do you like best?
@StillPooh625 жыл бұрын
MsConnieMB my most recent pot gel acquisition is the L’Oréal infallible gel lacquer liner (I’m using the color Espresso; it also comes in black). It comes with a brush that actually works surprisingly well for tightlining. I haven’t had any issues with transfer so long as I’m careful not to apply too much (and once when I slept in it 😆).

I can always trust that you are recommending something because you genuinely enjoy it. I was always a department store girl, I started on Clinique back in the 90s like many of us did (because that’s what mom used) but as I’ve gotten into my 30s I’ve really developed an appreciation for the surge in quality at the drug store. Thanks for always having recommendations I can trust ❤️

Emily, I think expecting to find good (and safe) makeup for 5 dollars or less is too much to ask nowadays and would quickly become an exercise in frustration. I'd be more interested in seeing a "$10 or less" video..that threshold would give us so many more options while still helping us stay on the cheaper side of the budget. There are so many excellent mascaras, primers, setting sprays, powders and blushers that would fit this category! Even a handful of tried-and-true foundations can be found for under 10 dollars, which is inexpensive, considering that most of the Sephora, Ulta, and department store choices go for $30 or more. Thank you for all the great work you put into these! They are so helpful!

I had melasma so bad while pregnant with my second. I had it across my upper lip, across my nose and cheeks and right above my eyebrows. My son is now almost 16 and I still have very faint melasma across my cheeks and above my eyebrows. The good thing about this is it has made me completely faithful to using sunscreen daily because stepping outside will immediately bring it back and darken those areas. It also made me begin using vitamin C serum and retinol products and an occasional peel (love the peel from The Ordinary, which is now sold at Ulta! Yay!) At 46, my skin looks far better than a lot of women my age (and dare I say, younger than me!) and I contribute that to daily sunscreen use. So this is the bright side of melasma, if there is one! I now use ONLY mineral sunscreens because I have found that they don't irritate my skin. The chemical ones can irritate skin and irritation can actually make melasma worse. The biggest drawback to most mineral sunscreens is that it usually doesn't play well with foundations. To get around this, I use It Cosmetics CC with spf50 (it is an all mineral sunscreen and NOTHING on the market compares, despite some brands trying to dupe it- It Cosmetics is the ONLY one with thst is all mineral based!) ALL over my face and neck. On days I don't need much coverage, I really love Elta MD tinted all mineral sunscreen. I found this one isn't as drying, but if that isn't an issue, Australian Gold makes one that is also very nice and cheaper as well. Good luck to my gals with melasma! I know it's a challenging skin condition, but there are things that can definitely help! Most of all, sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!

Thank you for letting me know about the Elf lip exfoliator! It is amazing. I use it every night and then put my Laneige lip mask on top. I have used very expensive lip scrubs and the Elf is truly the best. Great tip!

The Elf one is a dupe for The Body Shop's lip scrub that has been around for 30+ years... xXx

I have been recently picking up Revlon products and I do love what I have got so far. Could you please do a review of the Revlon like a one brand review? I don't see anyone really doing them

I used Stay Matte foundation religiously for 5 years...now I'm wondering why I stopped. Currently obsessed with Loreal Pro Glow for the dewy summer look but I will be picking that up again and a few other things. Thanks again Emily for your wonderful reviews and recommendations!!!!!!❤💄

The elf blotting powder in the black packaging is really good for touch ups! I use the applicator that comes with it and a small amount does the job!

Wow I was terrified when she put her brush in the raven color but it looks so amazing! Emily could you do a Smokey Eye look for Fair skin tones? I am very fair (natural red head with freckles) so I'm curious about your suggestions!😊 Beautiful makeup today! Love it!

No matter how long one of your videos is, it always goes by so fast! I watch every single second and I normally don't do that lol I loved how you just causally threw in the macaroni and cheese recipe you were using like we're just old friends getting ready together lol just wanted to let you know that you're truly one of the best KZbinrs around and I really enjoy your channel! :)

I am dry as all get out, and I was hesitant to try the elf Camo concealer due to some mixed reviews for dry skin. But definitely works for me if I use a flat concealer brush to tap it on lightly and then blend it out with a damp beauty sponge. I wonder if the Believe sponge from DG is any good? 😉

The last time i tried the rimmel stay matte, I had very oily skin and enjoyed the coverage. However, most of the shade range has a pink undertone rather than a more yellow or olive, which is where it really lacked for me (very obvious mismatch unfortunately). I think the loreal foundation has a stronger shade range, but it's a shame it's so much more expensive😔

have you checked the updated line of Stay Matte? I think they expanded the original offerings. Might be worth a look! :D
