The lemak in nasi lemak does not equate to fat or fatty. It is more to the richness in taste of the rice or how creamy-like taste of the rice. Arguably you can say coconut milk is high in calories and fats and lemak is directly that but lemak also means in respect to taste as richness and creaminess. Example; susu lemak manis, which means sweet and creamy milk.

classic nasi lemak is a 5/5 for me any day. fancy ones make me think why would i want to eat nasi lemak in the first place.. cos nasi lemak is supposed to be a no frill simple meal that is suitable for any time of the day.

Jeez, how on earth can anyone make a Nasi Lemak episode without a store from Changi Village Hawker Centre? That's literally the Nasi Lemak place with at least 3 famous stores there. I understand Changi Village location is ulu, but I would definitely go there than Boon Lay for Nasi Lemak. A worthy mention is Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak, their main Adam Road store have short operating hours but it's now franchised under the brand "Crave" and it's available islandwide.

You can go to Chong Pang nasi lemak and request for their banana leaf nasi lemak.. $1.70 and omg delicious. They Also distribute this banana leaf nasi lemak to many coffee shops or eateries so also can get them outside sometimes.
