As someone who was a ritual Victoria's Secret Fashion show viewer back in the day I would LOVE to see your recap. My favorite year was 2005 with the toy box and my favorite segment would have to be "Wild Things" or the finale of 2006. My personal opinion was that in the final years(before they came back) they got a little too into the "you could be like us" aspect of things and it really weighed down the show. I came here to see a show. That's it.🤷‍♀😂

Ms. Dani, you are correct about PH's costume. I am not sure what about the name but it is said to be Our Lady of Antipolo. The headdress is the depiction of the Galleon Trade or Acapulco-Manila Trade wherein the Mexico and Philippines exchange spices.

My two personal favorites not mentioned here were BVI and Israel - what did you think of those? I thought that the BVI's postage theme was incredibly whimsical and unexpected, and Israel's costume had so much tradition and symbolism, from the fringed Jewish prayer shawl to the Hebrew printing on the back (unlike their normally safe either fashion or peace-themed choices). And what did you think of USA? To me, it had 2 messages: a) Dollar Tree and b) come on, we can do better. I was hoping to see something themed to Alma's home state of Michigan - Aretha Franklin/Motown theme (can you imagine a sparkly, star-spangled feathery muumuu and a beehive wig with gold and platinum records?), perhaps a Model T (birthplace of the modern automotive assembly line) or heck, even a box of cereal (Michigan is the home of Kellogg and Post cereals, and where corn flakes and Grape-Nuts were invented). Even some sort of military theme alluding to her personal background would have been a better choice. My least favorites were the ones that fell apart, like Romania's with the feathers dropping off and Thailand leaving a trail of stuff for the rest of the ladies to trip over.

The image at the back of the National Custome of Chelsea Manalo of the Philippines is Nuestra Senora de la Paz y Buenviaje, Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. The image was brought to the country by governor-general Juan Niño de Tabora from Mexico via the galleon El Almirante in 1626. His safe voyage across the Pacific Ocean was attributed to the image, which was given the title of "Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage". It was substantiated later by six other successful voyages of the Manila-Acapulco Galleons with the image aboard as its patroness.Pope Pius XI issued a Pontifical decree to crown the image in 1925. The statue is one of the most celebrated Marian images in the Philippines. It is enshrined at the Antipolo Cathedral which was approved by the Vatican as an International Marian Shrine in June of 2022.

For future Nat Cos, it would be helpful for each representative to provide more detailed descriptions of what the costumes are about. The generic descriptions & cringe rhyming are just not doing these elaborate & meaningful pieces justice. For example the deer, the rolleskates, the detail on Philippines train. Some are self-explanatory, some need a bit more.
