Andre Tippett was EVERY BIT as good, or even better than Lawrence Taylor. If you took the time to study the both of them, and ACTUALLY look at Tippett's stats, you'd know this. But LT got all of the glory because he played for Bill Parcels, and the Giants, in the Big Apple - the media center of America. In the meantime, Tippett was playing for some terrible New England teams, and he didn't have the talent surrounding him on defense that LT had. COMPARE their stats, and you will see VERY similar numbers, even though Tippett played in 30 less games than LT.

I'm not a Chiefs fan, but the 2020s are absolutely looking like Mahomes' decade. To have accomplished all the things he has in only 3 years as a full-time starter is incredible. Barring injury or something else unforeseen, the 20s will probably be his decade.

@@owenwondrash5058 Best defensive player ever? Lawrence Taylor would like a word with you. Listen, Aaron Donald is amazing, but QB is the most important position in the game. That's even more true in the modern era, where the rules favor the passing game. To have an MVP, Super Bowl ring (and SB MVP) and now making another SB appearance in just 3 years as a starter is almost unheard of. There's a reason they just gave Mahomes mountains of cash.

The object of any game is to win. Last time I checked, Manning won one ring in the 2,000's (with superior skill position players around him). Brady won SB XXXVI, then back-to-back 14 win seasons (and last back-to-back titles) in '03 & '04. Manning's great regular season stats bely the fact that he was mediocre in the clutch. BUT ESPN loved him, so... See Brett Favre. Tom had the better coach? Montana got the "best of '80's" nod not factoring stats or coach. Brady is the player of the 2000's.
